Flowers Bloom in 19 States

Chapter 547 - 550: Gathering

The landlady then spoke clearly, revealing that this street was Seoul's Chinatown, primarily populated by Huaxia people, similar to how Chinese communities are scattered across the globe, with Chinatowns in various countries.

The landlady, Liu Yanlan, and her husband had come to Han Country for culinary business due to certain reasons. Life had been manageable until her husband fell gravely ill a year ago, consuming a significant amount of money, and their daughter had just started university. The entire culinary shop relied on Liu Yanlan's support, making life quite challenging.

Quan Xiangyu was one of the members of the Bloodthirsty Society in Han Country, and he controlled the street as a minor leader.

"I'm sorry for getting you involved, offending Quan Xiangyu—he will definitely seek revenge on you, so you should leave quickly," Liu Yanlan said with a worried expression.

"No, what will you do if we leave and he comes after you?" Yingzi frowned and shook her head.

Liu Yanlan also displayed a distressed expression, "But the Bloodthirsty Society is an underground force, we can't provoke them."

"Don't worry, with my master and me here, you'll definitely be safe. My master is very powerful," Yingzi said cheerfully as she stood up and walked over to Lin Mo.

"Master, can we stay and help them?" Yingzi mumbled, since this decision had been made on her own initiative.

Lin Mo put down his chopsticks, he had already eaten, and looked up with a faint smile, "Since I have nothing else to do for now, let's help you fulfill your wish of being a heroine."

"Thank you, Master," Yingzi said excitedly smiling.

"Don't worry, ma'am, we will take care of it for you," Yingzi said as she supported the landlady with a smile.

Liu Yanlan, looking at the adorable girl and the always serene young man, felt, inexplicably, somewhat reassured by their words.

"Oh, can I ask you for a favor?" Liu Yanlan suddenly thought of something and asked.

"My husband is still in the hospital receiving treatment, and I need to take care of him this afternoon, but my daughter is coming back tonight. Could you please pick her up from school? I'm afraid Quan Xiangyu might send someone to the school," Liu Yanlan said worriedly.

"Don't worry, ma'am, leave it to us," Yingzi said with a confident pat on her chest, speaking with the free-spirited air of a heroine.

Liu Yanlan nodded, then went back to a room to call her daughter. Since the restaurant could not operate due to disturbances and had to close, Liu Yanlan went to the hospital at around six or seven in the evening, while Lin Mo and Yingzi headed to the university to pick up Liu Yanlan's daughter.

Liu Yanlan's daughter was named Liu Jing, a freshman at Seoul University of Liberal Arts. Outside the school gates, Lin Mo and Yingzi met her.

She was very pretty, tall, and fair-skinned, likely considered one of the school's beauties.

"Are you Liu Jing, the landlady's daughter?" Yingzi checked the photo in her hand and confirmed.

"Yes," Liu Jing nodded, showing a rather gentle temperament, "Thank you, my mom told me about today. If it weren't for you, Quan Xiangyu would have definitely bullied her."

"Merely standing for justice at the sight of injustice," Yingzi said with a smile, then added, "The landlady asked my master and me to pick you up and take you home."

However, Liu Jing bit her thin lips, hesitated for a moment, and then shook her head, "I can't go back with you right now, my classmate is having a birthday party today, and I need to attend."

"Then we'll go with you," Yingzi said, her pretty face taking on a serious look. "I promised the boss lady to protect you well and not let anything happen to you."

"Alright then," Liu Jing nodded.

After that, the three of them took a taxi to a bustling pedestrian street in the downtown area where Yinzuo Mall, a leisure and entertainment hub, was located. Liu Jing's classmate was having a birthday party at one of the KTV rooms in Yinzuo.

The classmate was also a student from Huaxia studying in Han Country, where many students from the same country often grouped together. The attendees at today's gathering were also Chinese international students from the university.

"Xiao Jing, why did you just arrive? I thought you were going to stand me up," a trendily dressed young girl with an LV crossbody bag greeted Liu Jing as soon as they reached the entrance of the KTV.

"There was a traffic jam, so I'm late. Sorry, this is your gift," Liu Jing handed over a gift box she was holding.

The recipient was today's birthday girl and Liu Jing's good friend at school, Jiang Wei, a fellow international student from Huaxia.

Jiang Wei took the gift box with a happy expression on her face, "Thank you, Xiao Jing."

Having said that, Jiang Wei then noticed the presence of Lin Mo and Yingzi. She frowned slightly, "Liu Jing, who are they?"

"Oh, they are distant relatives from my family who are here visiting Seoul," Liu Jing explained, blushing, as she honestly did not know how to introduce Lin Mo and Yingzi.

"Your relatives, huh? We're all fellow townsmen, so let's hang out together. I don't mind," said Jiang Wei, glancing at Lin Mo and noticing that none of his clothes were branded, her expression faintly scornful.

"Nice to meet you, I am Jiang Wei, Liu Jing's friend and bestie," Liu Jing said cheerily.

"Lin Mo."

"Yingzi." After the brief introductions, they followed Jiang Wei into the KTV private room, where there were already a dozen or so stylishly dressed young men and women. It was evident these were children from wealthy families, given that while there are students from poorer backgrounds studying overseas, students from affluent families are more abundant.

"Xiao Wei, Xiao Jing, you're here," greeted the others in the private room. However, on seeing the unfamiliar faces of Lin Mo and Yingzi, everyone showed a suspicious expression.

But once Liu Jing explained, they all understood and accepted Lin Mo and Yingzi as simply being distant relatives visiting Han Country.

Meanwhile, several youths sitting on the couch had their eyes fixated on Yingzi's face, simultaneously revealing looks of amazement.

Yingzi was naturally beautiful, and having spent the past few years with Lin Mo, consuming Elixir as one would snacks and practicing Martial Arts had given her an aura not comparable to ordinary girls.

Lin Mo and Yingzi chose a corner of the couch to sit down, as they were not familiar with the others and were present mainly because they had promised the restaurant's boss lady to look after her daughter.

"Xiao Jing, why don't you chat with Mr. Long for a bit? I'm going to the restroom," said Jiang Wei with a smile, gently pushing Liu Jing toward a man with a spiked hairstyle sitting on the couch.

Having done that, Jiang Wei then exited the private room with a female companion, headed to the restroom.

Jiang Wei's companion was Nie Ping, also a student at Seoul's College of Humanities, dressed in a Chloé gown worth tens of thousands of yuan and sporting sophisticated heavy makeup.
