The wealthy man was standing next to a young woman with a striking appearance, and they looked like father and daughter by age, but their posture was ambiguous. The woman wore a mink coat and was covered in jewelry, exuding an air of opulence.
Lin Mo's starry eyes slightly furrowed.
Just as the security guard was about to ask Lin Mo to leave, a clear and clean voice like a silver bell sounded from inside, "Mo."
Everyone looked over and saw a young girl in a white short down jacket and jeans stepping out.
Her black hair cascaded like a waterfall, her long eyelashes, her fair skin with a hint of redness giving her a gentle beauty, her large spirited eyes, her pale chin, and her exquisite makeup made her look like a snow lotus blooming on an iceberg— so clear and pure, yet imposing a sense of sacred inviolability.
"Why did you come out?" Lin Mo smiled.
"This club requires a membership card to avoid any trouble, so I rushed out to pick you up," Xia Mengdie gently smiled, hooking her arm through his, leaning on Lin Mo's shoulder like a little bird relying on someone, acting like a spoiled young girl.
The wealthy man with shiny hair widened his eyes. Seeing Xia Mengdie, he then compared her to the companion by his side, noticing the difference between a tractor and a Ferrari, truly feeling an envy that could kill.
Lin Mo and Xia Mengdie walked into the club, where he lightly smiled and said, "The men outside were looking at me like they wanted to devour me, haha."
"Why?" Xia Mengdie asked curiously.
"They're envious that I have a beautiful, peerless wife."
"You also have that childish vanity?" Xia Mengdie covered her lips and giggled.
In Xia Mengdie's heart, Lin Mo was a hero unmatched in the world, and such vanity was something only naive children would have.
"I'm not devoid of feelings, and having a beautiful wife is indeed something to be proud of," Lin Mo said seriously and affectionately, looking at Xia Mengdie.
Xia Mengdie's pretty face seemed to be brushed with charming rouge, showing a hint of shyness.
With that, the two had already walked into a large hall of the vineyard, where several female staff members in maid outfits stood at the entrance; inside, there were several well-dressed men and women in suits and long dresses—clearly young ladies and gentlemen.
Though the weather in Ha City was cold, these people had luxury cars with air conditioning and entered high-end clubs with heating, so naturally, they didn't need to wear too bulky clothes.
"Mengdie, this must be your boyfriend, Xiao Mo," said a woman who seemed to be just over thirty years old, coming over and looking Lin Mo up and down with a friendly smile.
The young woman had fair skin and was dressed in a simple yet sexy mature long dress, beautiful in appearance.
"Mo, this is Cousin Su Yingqin," Xia Mengdie introduced quietly.
"Hello, Cousin," Lin Mo nodded slightly, greeting her politely.
Lin had never met these relatives of the Su Family at Xia Mengdie's grandfather's birthday party in Imperial City, so he had never seen them before.
"I haven't met you before either. You must have a great time while you're here in the Northeast," Su Yingqin said with a smile.
Lin Mo nodded slightly, just as a sudden voice rang out, "Yo, this is Sister Mengdie's boyfriend, huh? He looks so ordinary."
The speaker was a fourteen or fifteen-year-old girl with several braids, blinking as she spoke.
"How dare you speak to Mengdie's boyfriend like that?" Su Yingqin glared at her.
This young girl was a third-generation descendant of the Su Family, named Su Minmin. She had been clever and adorable since childhood, and was now in a gifted youth class in Shu Province, about to take the college entrance exam, and was the cherished gem of the Su Family.
Su Minmin pursed her lips, showing disdain.
"Kids have no manners; Xiao Mo, don't mind her," Su Yingqin said awkwardly.
"No worries," Lin Mo shook his head. With his current state of mind, there was no reason for him to bother too much with a little girl.
Then Xia Mengdie introduced two other men; one of them, named Niu Tao, wore glasses and seemed scholarly. He was Su Yingqin's husband and worked in a government office, holding an important position as a director.
The other looked to be in his early twenties, quite handsome, and was the son of the Family Head of the Su Family's third generation, named Su Ze. He hadn't glanced at Lin Mo once and carried himself with an air of superiority.
Xia Mengdie leaned in and whispered into Lin Mo's ear, "Big cousin is already thirty this year and still has no children. I heard it might be a health issue. Aren't you skilled in medicine? Could you check on her later? She's been really good to me."
"No problem," Lin Mo smiled in response.
Given his current status, there were few people he would personally treat, but Su Yingqin had a good nature and was Mengdie's relative, so helping out was no big deal.
At that moment, Su Ze, sitting on the sofa, frowned and called out, "Manager Cheng, where is the wine I asked for?"
Right then, a middle-aged man in a suit and looking uneasy entered through the door, approached Su Ze, and hesitated, "Young Master Su, I'm really sorry, but our cellar's Donald brandy is out. Would you like to choose another bottle?"
"Was there not some just now? How could it suddenly be gone?" Su Ze frowned. What he drank was not the issue; the real problem was the affront to his dignity, especially in front of so many relatives of his clan.
Manager Cheng bowed and said, "Young Master Su, someone else bought it, and that person I cannot afford to offend either."
"So you're saying you can afford to offend me?" Su Ze stood up, his face growing fierce.
"I... I didn't mean that," Manager Cheng, wiping the sweat from his forehead with a handkerchief, explained, "It was bought by someone from the Jiang Family."
The Jiang Family controlled Jiyao Hall, one of the leading pharmaceutical and cosmetic companies in Northeast and even nationwide. Rumor had it they had partnered with a group from Shu Province, overtaking several competitors, and had now become the region's largest company in cosmetics and health products, at the height of their influence.
Though the Su Family was one of the Four Great Families of Northeast, they were only a branch, not the main family, and dared not oppose the Jiang Family.
"Cousin, let's just let it go. We're just here to have fun; we don't have to drink anything specific," Xia Mengdie gently advised.
Su Ze was someone who cared deeply about face. Hearing Xia Mengdie's words, he thought she was mocking him and scoffed, "Ha City is the Su Family's turf, who do the Jiang Family think they are?"
"Really? Young Master Su seems quite confident," a cold voice sounded from outside.
Immediately afterward, two women and a man entered the hallway; the speaker was a young man in light purple suit, exuding arrogance.
Su Ze, Su Yingqin, and Su Minmin's expressions changed slightly, recognizing the man's status.
"If the Su Family invited us to be guests and discuss business, but now looks down on us, the Jiang Family, then we might as well forget about the partnership," the young man sneered.
