Chapter 642: Shocking

Luo Lan, Huang Rui, and another girl named Zhao Li, all with good looks and qualifications, were particularly appealing, especially at their youthful and beautiful age, exuding an attraction to older men.

"Xiao Jian, your classmates here are pretty good—beautiful and talented. When they graduate and start looking for jobs, I can help," Gao Wei said with a smile, but his face bore a lecherous expression.

"Thank you for the compliment, Uncle."

The two girls nodded. It was tough for university graduates to find jobs these days. With someone's help, they could save decades of struggle and even achieve what they might never accomplish on their own.

Gao Wei's gaze landed on Yingzi, the prettiest among these girls, and even compared with the socialites and rich heiresses at the party today, none could match Yingzi's beauty.

"Are these two also your friends?" Gao Wei asked, his eyes burning with desire as he looked at Yingzi.

Huang Jian frowned. He knew his uncle was notoriously lecherous, and he was cut from the same cloth. Initially, he wanted to pursue Yingzi, but she was indifferent to him, and together with Lin Mo's attitude, it was already making him irritable.

"I suppose I know them, but we're not very close. Some people don't want to be friends with me," Huang Jian said with a sneer.

Gao Wei frowned slightly, his gaze landing on Lin Mo, only then noticing that this young man seemingly hadn't glanced at him at all, lying on the couch the entire time with quite a presumptuous posture.

And hearing Huang Jian's tone, it seemed as if there was bad blood between him and the young man.

"Oh, may I ask what's the young brother's name?" Gao Wei asked, looking at him.

But Lin Mo remained with his eyes half-closed, not bothering to pay any attention to him.

Gao Wei's face showed a change in color, and everyone else also shut their mouths, the air becoming terribly quiet. Huang Jian frowned, not expecting Lin Mo to be so arrogant, completely ignoring his uncle.

But in Huang Jian's view, perhaps the poorer one was, the more they clung to their pitiful self-respect.

Seeing that Lin Mo still did not open his eyes to look at him, Gao Wei's face struggled to maintain composure, his brows furrowing, and his fists clenching.

After all, to be ignored by a young man in front of Huang Jian, his students, and his own friends was intolerable.

"Lin Mo, my uncle is speaking to you. You rely on your friends to get in here, but don't you realize where you are?" Huang Jian said, frowning.

Lin Mo still didn't speak.

Just then, a voice suddenly came from behind, "Yo, Manager Gao, long time no see."

"Young Master Wu." Gao Wei's face immediately lit up with a sycophantic smile.

It turned out to be a young man wearing a suit handcrafted in Italy, with an extraordinary bearing, who compared to Huang Jian was like the gap between a crown prince and a commoner.

"Young Master Wu, I didn't see you earlier, or else I would have come over to greet you right away," said Gao Wei as he slightly bowed, speaking respectfully with a smile.

Seeing Gao Wei's deferential manner towards the young man, it was clear the young man's status was significant. Everyone else, including Huang Rui and Zhao Li, couldn't help but show a degree of constraint.

Smiling, Gao Wei said, "Xiao Jian, let me introduce you. This is Young Master Wu, the big boss of 'Sun Energy' Group in Hong Kong, Mr. Wu's son. Mr. Wu, this is my nephew from the Mainland, his family is in real estate."

Hearing Manager Gao's introduction, everyone obviously paused in shock for a moment, as though companies within the energy sector were not too familiar to them. However, "Sun Energy" was a large conglomerate ranked among the top ten in Hong Kong, with assets worth tens of billions. Mr. Wu had even once been ranked among the top ten richest Chinese.

As for his son, Young Master Wu, he was a celebrity in Hong Kong and rumored to have had a scandal with a female artist from the island.

"Young Master Wu, hello. My name is Gao Jian." Gao Jian immediately bowed respectfully and extended his hand.

Although Huang Jian's family was involved in real estate and had some developments, they were merely newcomers in the property sector, with assets amounting to only a few billion. In front of his classmates, he could be considered a second-generation rich kid, but in front of such a distinguished host, his status didn't quite measure up.

"Hello."

Young Master Wu wore a reserved smile, but kept one hand in his pocket, the other holding a wine glass, making it clear that he had no intention of shaking hands.

Huang Jian's face flushed with embarrassment, but he didn't dare to get angry. He pinched the air with his palm and then retracted his hand, maintaining a humbled smile on his face all the while.

Just at this moment, two more people approached, and Young Master Wu's expression subtly shifted.

The two who walked over were a beautiful woman with delicate features, looking young and strangely dressed, with her hair tied at the nape of her neck and adorned with a strip of red silk. Her tall and well-proportioned figure gave off an ethereal charm that made it impossible to harbor any disrespectful thoughts towards her.

Following behind the woman was an elderly man with white hair, dressed in a tailcoat and leaning on a walking stick, with two bodyguards tall as iron towers behind him.

Manager Gao might not recognize the woman, but he did know the old man behind her: the founder of "Sun Energy," and Young Master Wu's grandfather, who had been awarded the "Thorn Bird Baron" medal by the Queen of the United Kingdom, a real big shot in Hong Kong.

"Grandfather," Young Master Wu quickly took his hand out of his pocket and greeted him with utmost respect.

"Elder Wu."

Manager Gao and the middle-aged man beside him both called out politely.

Yet to everyone's surprise, there were scarce few in Hong Kong who could evoke such humility from Elder Wu, a renowned big shot in the city.

Yet there he was, walking alongside the young woman, obviously treating her with a sense of awe.

Young Master Wu, too, frowned. There were very few who could command such respect from his grandfather. Moreover, although the woman's appearance was stunning, it was quite unfamiliar. She didn't seem to be the princess from the Li Family, so could she be from a major family in the Mainland?

Students like Huang Jian, Huang Rui, Luo Lan, and others, who had scarcely come into contact with such influential figures, felt almost suffocated by the sheer presence emanating from them.

When Mr. Wu saw Young Master Wu, he simply nodded slightly. As for the others, he didn't even give them a glance. He followed the young woman in front, slowly walking forward. After all, the Immortal Master had told him that a big shot had been invited today.

"Mr. Lin, my apologies for keeping you waiting," said the woman at the forefront, bypassing Huang Jian and Young Master Wu, and directly addressing Lin Mo with a slight bow.

Only then did Lin Mo slowly open his eyes, "Indeed, you have kept me waiting for quite a while."

His tone hinted at a hint of dissatisfaction.

"I apologize, Mr. Lin; my master was held up with some matters, and so we were late," Lu Xing spoke up, her attitude very reverent.

Huang Jian, Huang Rui, Zhao Li, Luo Lan, and the others opened their mouths in shock, the air they breathed felt sharp in their throats, uncomfortable.

Young Master Wu, Manager Gao, and others were equally stunned, standing frozen in place.
