The female ghost was incredibly fast.
Before I could even steady myself, she lunged, aiming for my neck.
Her ferocious appearance and sharp ghost fangs sent a chill down my spine.
If she bit my neck, would I survive?
I could only lean back, retreating rapidly.
The female ghost, however, pressed her attack.
Seeing the escalating danger, Brother Chen, standing nearby, exclaimed in surprise.
"Xiao Qin, be careful!"
With that, he raised his peach wood sword and swung it towards the female ghost's head.
It was Brother Chen's sword that caused the female ghost's movement to pause for a fraction of a second.
This allowed me to regain my footing and create some distance.
But Brother Chen became the target.
The female ghost flickered, effortlessly evading Brother Chen's strike.
With a raise of her hand, her ghost claws clutched Brother Chen's neck.
"Stinking men, you all deserve to die!"
As she spoke, the female ghost was consumed by rage.
With a single hand, she lifted Brother Chen into the air.
Her sharp ghost claws, with their long nails, dug into the flesh of Brother Chen's neck.
Blood began to seep out from between her fingernails.
Brother Chen felt an immense discomfort. The moment he was gripped,
it was as if his strength was drained, and his entire body went limp.
Thin wisps of white mist continuously rose from his nose and mouth, drifting into the female ghost's lips.
This was the vital energy of a living person, the yang energy emanating from them.
Brother Chen's eyes rolled back, and he emitted muffled cries of distress, but his choked throat made it impossible to struggle.
"Brother Chen!"
I shouted, raising my peach wood sword and lunging forward again.
Even though this female ghost was powerful, her cultivation surpassing that of Old Mo and me,
I absolutely could not stand by and watch Brother Chen have his yang energy drained by her.
As I moved, Old Mo had already acted.
He leaped forward, wielding his dual peach wood axes, and brought them down with force:
"Fiend, die!"
The female ghost's milky white eyes fixed on Mo Ting.
She let out a cold snort:
"Stinking man!"
Before she finished speaking, the female ghost, still gripping Brother Chen's neck with one hand, hurled him away.
He was sent flying directly towards Mo Ting.
The force behind the throw was so great, it was as if she was tossing garbage.
Mo Ting, unable to dodge in time, was struck by Brother Chen with a thud and sent sprawling to the ground.
With the situation as it was, there were no other options.
I could only brace myself and charge forward.
My peach wood sword aimed straight for the female ghost.
The female ghost's form flickered, directly evading my attack.
With a counter-sweep, she lunged towards my face.
I dodged to the side, her claws grazing my face as they passed.
It was a near miss; I could have had my face torn apart by this female ghost.
Despite the shock, my movements did not falter.
Holding a talisman in my left hand, I slapped it towards the female ghost.
Unfortunately, the female ghost's movements were too agile, and she evaded it once more.
However, this did manage to create some distance between us.
After evading, the female ghost did not rush to attack again.
Instead, she landed on top of a wooden crate.
From her elevated position, she sneered down at the three of us.
It was as if she were looking at prey in her hands,
which made us extremely uncomfortable.
"Old Mo, how's Brother Chen?"
I tightened my grip on the peach wood sword and pointed at the female ghost.
My gaze was wary, fixed upon her.
Before Mo Ting could reply, Brother Chen, panting, answered:
"I, I, I'm fine! I'm fine!"
Hearing Brother Chen say he was alright, I felt a wave of relief.
In our current state, it was difficult for the three of us to defeat this female ghost.
Unless we could find some decisive opportunities.
Or, perhaps, use our trump cards...
I pondered and strategized in my mind.
Meanwhile, Old Mo and Brother Chen had quickly gotten back on their feet and now stood to my left and right.
Old Mo then said:
"We can't escape, so we have to take this female ghost down.
Here's the plan: my cultivation is the weakest.
Later, I'll charge forward as bait.
When the female ghost attacks me, you two find an opportunity to kill her."
Brother Chen, still catching his breath, spoke with a surprisingly resolute expression.
He showed no fear or retreat despite having had his yang energy drained just moments ago.
Mo Ting and I looked at him in surprise.
"Brother Chen, that's too risky."
I said in a low voice, not in agreement.
Having Brother Chen act as bait felt like throwing a dog a bone.
We knew this female ghost's cultivation surpassed both mine and Old Mo's.
If neither of us could withstand her,
having him draw her attention was extremely dangerous; a moment's carelessness could cost him his life.
"Yes, Brother Chen, let me be the bait. It's too dangerous for you to go."
Mo Ting also objected.
However, the female ghost opposite us did not wish to grant us, the three of us, much time to plan.
She let out a few "hehehe" laughs and spoke again:
"Stinking men, come and pay with your lives!"
With that, she plummeted down from the wooden crate.
Her ghost claws aimed directly at the three of us.
"Everyone, be careful!"
I shouted, drawing the Bagua mirror at that moment.
I took a step forward resolutely.
Raising the Bagua mirror, I shone it directly at the charging female ghost.
I growled:
"Open!"
In an instant, the mirror surface of the Bagua mirror flashed.
A beam of golden light shot out, striking the female ghost directly.
Our cultivation might be lower than the female ghost's, but we possessed various Taoist magical artifacts.
All of them were genuine.
As I activated the Bagua mirror's light,
the female ghost's ferocious face contorted into an expression of terror.
She cried out, "Ah!"
Shielding her eyes from the mirror's light, she violently dodged to the side...
