The Crow Taoist’s lack of pronounced emotional change kept me on edge.
Logically, we had already killed so many of his ghost slaves.
More than twenty yellow-robed ghosts were all dead.
And not a single red-robed ghost had been killed yet.
Yet, he showed no reaction whatsoever.
Red-robed ghosts were exceedingly malevolent.
Even if these demonic cultivators could raise them, cultivating a red-robed ghost would absolutely require immense cost, time, and effort.
Now, a red-robed ghost was gone just like that.
But his attitude made me feel a growing unease.
While I pondered this, I continued to battle the incessantly attacking horde of ghosts.
Heaven knew how many specters resided in Li Family Village.
After I consecutively slew over a dozen ghosts, I noticed the Crow Taoist’s gaze fixed on the Ten Demon Souls.
My eyes narrowed. I formed a hand seal and pointed at the Midnight Taoist:
"Heaven and Earth without bounds, Yin and Yang borrow the law, Decree!"
"Swoosh, swoosh." Two peach wood swords flew from the sword bag on my back, directly aiming for the Crow Taoist.
However, just as the two peach wood swords were about to strike him.
Over a dozen black crows around the Crow Taoist suddenly took flight, using their bodies to block my two flying swords.
Several crows were pierced and killed.
They then transformed into ghostly figures, their souls scattered.
These were transformed ghost souls, the Crow Taoist’s personal guards, protecting him.
Due to the obstruction by these ghostly crows, my sneak attack failed.
I could only recall the peach wood swords.
The Crow Taoist also looked over at this moment, gazing down at us battling the ghost horde.
He chuckled:
"Thinking of sneak attacking this poor Taoist, truly wishful thinking.
Since you don't want to play anymore, then this poor Taoist will stop playing.
Next, you can all die…"
The Crow Taoist’s tone was very calm, his smile playful.
Before I could speak, Old Mo on the other side had already started cursing:
"Die my ass! If you fall into my hands, I'll electrocute you to death."
Old Mo's insult made the Crow Taoist’s entire face darken:
"Boy, your talent is quite good. Once this poor Taoist kills you, I will refine you into a special electro-powered ghost slave, forever bound to be a slave in my hands."
"Heaven has chosen me, my fate is here. If you have the ability, then come and take it!"
Old Mo was not backing down at all, displaying great spirit, though it was also rather chuunibyou.
But it greatly annoyed the Crow Taoist.
He directly let out a cold snort:
"Then all of you, await your doom!"
With that, the Crow Taoist brought his hands together, forming a mudra.
Seeing this, I frowned.
This demonic cultivator was likely planning something again.
We couldn't let him do it smoothly.
"Old Mo, we can't let him complete the mudra. Heaven knows what he’s up to."
I quickly called out.
Both of us simultaneously charged towards the Crow Taoist opposite us.
Although it was completely swarming with ghosts, a layered defense, we absolutely couldn't let him proceed so smoothly.
At the same time, I used the Yin Yang Treasure Orb again, consuming several times the spiritual energy, to activate the orb.
The orb instantly released waves of energy, red and white intermingling, directly aimed at the Crow Taoist.
The ghostly crows surrounding him cried "Caw, caw, caw" and lunged towards the Yin Yang Twin Orbs, attempting to block my attack with their bodies.
But the Yin Yang Treasure Orb was too powerful; these ghostly crows couldn't block it at all.
Countless died in an instant.
Just as they were about to strike the Crow Taoist.
Seeing the twin orbs approaching, the Crow Taoist had no choice but to release his hands.
He fiercely struck out with both palms.
With two "bang" sounds.
The powerful aura shockwaves sent the Yin Yang Twin Orbs flying.
Then he spoke again:
"Stop them!"
With that, the surrounding ghost horde became restless.
They suddenly abandoned their siege of the small courtyard and all retreated, turning to surround and attack me and Old Mo.
The ghost horde suddenly increased. The ones who had been attacking us were only about twenty.
The pressure wasn't too great.
But now, it had escalated to about a hundred.
These ghosts no longer attacked others; they all lunged at me and Old Mo.
The Crow Taoist took his position and formed the mudra again.
He began to chant, reciting incantations there.
Because of the distance, and our being surrounded by the ghost horde, it was difficult to interfere with this demonic cultivator.
But I wasn't willing to give up. We had come this far.
However we fought, it didn't matter.
My internal Yin Yang energy erupted. Consuming tenfold the spiritual energy pushed myself to my strongest state.
And now, I was fully capable of fighting an opponent in the True Light realm.
My peach wood sword hummed as I swung it, charging into the ghost horde and hacking wildly.
Old Mo’s body crackled with electricity. His combat power only lasted about twenty minutes; after that, he was finished.
He was currently fighting ferociously.
Facing the encirclement of a hundred ghosts, like me, he charged forward relentlessly.
Simultaneously, with a few leaps, he managed to reach the rooftop.
Ten meters away stood the Crow Taoist.
The Crow Taoist’s face was grim as he looked at us.
He appeared very angry.
"Demonic cultivator, don't think you can cast your spells so easily!"
The Crow Taoist looked at me.
He sneered:
"You think you can stop me? What a joke!"
The Crow Taoist continued his incantation.
Suddenly, terrifying Yin energy fluctuations appeared around us.
In the void around us, streaks of inscription-like black light emerged.
This, this was the same as when he summoned the red-robed female ghost and the yellow-robed fierce ghost earlier.
This guy, could he still be summoning fierce ghosts?
My heart was filled with dread.
I continued to charge forward, even if I couldn't defeat him, I wanted to stop him.
If this guy really managed to summon a few more red-robed level ghosts, then what hope would we have?
The Ten Demon Souls probably wouldn't be able to withstand them either…
