The centipede demon’s dozen or so eyes were already blinded, and my martial uncle charged forward, unleashing a Five Thunder Palm strike.
Instantly, five bolts of lightning crackled.
"Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang!" Five sharp reports.
The lightning struck the centipede demon, eliciting shrieks of agony as its body writhed and rolled on the ground.
Its thousand legs dug into the earth, like sharp blades, each scrape gouging long fissures.
But that wasn’t all. Old Mo raised his electric axe and brought it down with a single swing.
The axe landed squarely on the centipede demon’s limb, cleaving a massive gash. Green ichor splattered outwards.
The centipede demon roared in pain:
“I will, I will eat you all, eat you all…”
As it spoke, waves of centipedes surged from all sides, an endless tide.
They were incredibly ferocious.
But we paid them no mind, for I had already delivered the killing blow.
The Yin Yang Pearls, controlled by me, carrying the Yin and Yang energies.
With a "buzz," they descended from above, landing precisely on the centipede demon’s head.
Followed by two sharp "bang" sounds, they pierced its skull.
The centipede demon’s screams and curses ceased abruptly.
Its massive body crashed to the ground with a "clang."
Its entire head was shattered, splattered with green ichor.
Yet its body continued to writhe and twitch.
Its thousand insect legs continued to flail wildly.
The smaller centipedes nearby suddenly became chaotic, as if their leader was gone.
They began to scurry in all directions…
Old Mo, watching from a distance, burst into laughter:
“Hahaha, it’s dead, wonderful!”
“Old Mo, Xiao Yao, thanks just now. That old monster almost sprayed me in the face.”
I expressed my gratitude, a smile on my face.
After all, another demon had been dealt with.
Xiao Yao happily ran over:
“I can’t do much else, I can only help a little with my blood.”
“Haha, this is ‘a little help’? This is a huge help!”
I chimed in happily.
Xiao Yao’s innate talent was exceptional; not only was she immune to evil, but her blood was also a potent deterrent against Yin-corrupted entities, making her incredibly formidable.
But as the three of us conversed, my martial uncle, who was tending to the remains, was examining the dead centipede’s body.
His expression suddenly turned grim, and he shouted:
“Bad! This demon isn’t dead yet.”
At his words, we all turned our heads.
Looking over, we saw that the shattered head of the centipede demon was emanating demonic energy.
Its flesh and blood were regenerating.
“Holy crap, flesh and blood regeneration! That ability is too overpowered!”
Old Mo exclaimed.
My face, however, darkened:
“Don’t worry about it, chop it to pieces and see how it regenerates!”
With that, I grabbed my peach wood sword and charged forward.
My martial uncle, meanwhile, unleashed a series of six talismans.
"Bang, bang, bang, bang" – a cascade of talismanic explosions, blasting bloody holes into the centipede demon's body.
The centipede demon’s body continued to ooze green, foul-smelling ichor.
Old Mo and I closed in, raising our peach wood swords and hacking at the centipede demon’s body.
Wasn’t it supposed to regenerate?
Let’s see how it regenerates after being chopped into dozens of pieces.
I raised my peach wood sword and swung at the area near the demon’s head.
Its shell was still very tough, but with the persistent force of my Dao energy, each strike managed to break through.
I made over a dozen consecutive cuts.
But with the final swing, I was surprised to discover something.
Within the flesh and blood of the centipede demon’s third segment, there was a greenish-purple bead.
Upon seeing the bead, my eyes lit up.
“Inner core!”
This was a good find. Centipedes could be used to make medicinal wine.
This one growing an inner core was definitely a treasure.
Perhaps even better than the inner core of the Nine-Lives Corpse Cat, possibly a potent tonic.
Just as I reached out to grab it.
The inner core suddenly unleashed a strange burst of energy, rippling outwards like waves.
Seeing this, I quickly retreated.
My martial uncle and the others, noticing the anomaly, rushed over.
They also saw the inner core, while the surrounding flesh and blood were rapidly regenerating and healing.
My martial uncle narrowed his eyes:
“So it’s here. That’s the essence of the centipede demon. Take it.”
My martial uncle spoke, focusing on the centipede demon’s soul.
But at this moment, the centipede demon’s voice, laced with pleading, suddenly rang out:
“Esteemed immortals, spare my life, spare my life…”
Through the hazy air, a ball of green mist emerged.
Within the green mist, a small centipede coiled and crawled…
Hearing this voice and seeing this scene.
We all froze.
My martial uncle, however, let out a cold laugh:
“Your attitude wasn’t like this just now!”
“This humble demon was ignorant of your divine status and offended you, esteemed immortals. Now I know my mistake. I beg you immortals to spare my life and allow me to return to the mountains to continue my cultivation?”
The voice was sincere, yet tinged with fear.
I wore a cold expression; I had heard such pleas countless times before.
My heart remained unmoved.
Old Mo scoffed:
“Old monster, you wanted to eat us, didn’t you? Go on, eat us then! Damn it!”
“This humble demon dares not, dares not!”
“…”
My martial uncle stood his ground, looking at the centipede demon’s healing body, and spoke again:
“Xiao Qin, Xiao Mo!”
“Here!”
We both responded quickly.
“Towards demons, one cannot show any mercy.
Either you die, or I die, once we engage.
You two go up and slay him, leaving no trace of trouble…”
