"Damn it, looking for a fight?"
Brother Shan was no longer intimidated.
"I'll kill you!"
The short-haired kid immediately raised his hand to strike.
"Don't."
Ye Zixiao suddenly stepped forward, pushing the short-haired kid away. He said softly, "Tone down your impulsive behavior. If you mess up my plans, I'll crush you."
"Who the hell do you think you are?"
The short-haired kid was unfazed by Ye Zixiao.
"He's my big brother."
Brother Shan immediately became more arrogant.
"Your big brother is nothing, you..."
Just as the short-haired kid was about to make a move, Ye Zixiao suddenly lifted the brim of his hat. Under the neon lights, the short-haired kid saw the face he had been desperately searching for.
"Holy shit, Xiao! Xiao!"
"Shao Ni O!" (A playful pun, meaning "I'll shave you!")
Ye Zixiao smirked and chuckled.
"Big brother, what's going on?"
The short-haired kid instantly changed his address.
Yes.
The short-haired kid was none other than Leng Shao, the notorious kingpin of the Northern Sea City's Great Northern Gate. He now held an even grander title: the commander of the Independent Regiment of the Civilian Protection Army.
"What are you doing here?"
Ye Zixiao was genuinely bewildered.
"I came to find you!"
Leng Shao was incredibly excited.
"When did you arrive?"
"The very night you did, I arrived too."
"Why didn't you contact me?"
"I didn't want to bother you, thinking you were on your honeymoon. Then, when war broke out, I couldn't get a signal when I tried to reach you. Big brother, I've been searching for you so hard!"
"How did you get into Lotus Street?"
"Just spent some money to get in!"
"Mm!"
After Ye Zixiao finished asking, he believed Leng Shao's words. If Brother Shan could get in by bluffing, Leng Shao certainly could. It seemed this impetuous youth had come to find him on his own.
Ye Zixiao sized up Leng Shao's companions.
He recognized familiar faces: Old Wei, Xiao Bao, and several company commanders from the Independent Regiment. They were all excited to see Ye Zixiao but didn't speak out of turn.
"Let's go inside and have some fun."
Ye Zixiao put his arm around Leng Shao and headed for the entrance.
"Still want to have fun at a time like this?"
Leng Shao didn't understand what Ye Zixiao was up to.
"Get going."
Ye Zixiao nudged Leng Shao, leading Brother Shan and the others, holding Tang Keke's hand, a group of nearly forty people, as they strode into the Wanhuazou, queuing for security checks.
The big battle was about to begin. The wealthy were being protected. Although their movements and spending weren't restricted, security checks were very stringent, all for the protection of the wealthy.
Ye Zixiao and his group were unarmed, so they easily passed the security check. They walked down a long, curved corridor into the entertainment venue.
It was essentially a disco!
On the first floor was a large, circular open dance floor. Under the flashing lights, scantily clad young men and women were energetically shaking their bodies, creating a very lively atmosphere.
Ye Zixiao didn't stop.
He directly led his group to the second floor.
The second floor consisted of sofa seating areas, mostly occupied. Surrounded by food, drink, and voluptuous figures, wealthy young masters and ladies were indulging themselves, creating an air of harmony.
"Go to the third floor."
Ye Zixiao continued upwards.
The third floor was the last entertainment level. Above it were guest rooms and offices. As they stepped onto the stairs, two bouncers blocked their path.
"Are you VIPs?"
One of the bouncers asked, arms crossed.
Ye Zixiao and his entourage were stunned.
"No VIPs allowed."
The bouncer arrogantly raised his head.
"VIP my ass!"
Leng Shao suddenly spoke up, stepping forward and pointing at the bouncer's nose. "Are you blind? Do you know who my big brother is? Damn it, if you piss us off, we'll trash your place."
Now it was the bouncer's turn to be stunned!
It was known that the Wanhuazou was a private establishment owned by the Xiao family. Most of the people who frequented it now were high-ranking officials and influential figures. But even those with money and power wouldn't dare to speak such words.
In the entire Jiangcheng.
Who would dare to trash the Xiao family's establishment?
"Damn it, are you deaf?"
Before Leng Shao could say another word, Brother Shan rushed forward. He pointed at Ye Zixiao and yelled at the bouncer, "Have you seen the wealthy young masters of Longdu? Can't you understand the situation? Even Xiao Bahuang wouldn't dare to be disrespectful."
"Oh!"
The bouncer was even more bewildered.
He was just a bouncer; he didn't know any "wealthy young masters of Longdu." But seeing over forty people surrounding one man and one woman, he could guess that this group was not ordinary.
Furthermore, Leng Shao and Brother Shan were acting incredibly ostentatious, a level of arrogance that ordinary people couldn't muster. Only henchmen truly loyal to powerful figures would display such a "dog-swaggering" demeanor.
"Call a manager. Arrange the best and largest sofas for us. We don't stoop to getting VIP passes. Kid, if you say one more word, I guarantee I'll kill you tonight. Believe it?"
Leng Shao was truly putting on a show.
Even Brother Shan felt inferior!
"Please follow me!"
The bouncer was genuinely intimidated.
Soon, a manager with a fawning expression hurried over. He wasn't responsible for checking customer identities. Upon hearing about important figures, he immediately smiled like a subservient dog.
"Esteemed boss, you've arrived a bit late. The best sofas are already occupied, but don't worry, we'll arrange the second best for you. It'll definitely save face."
"What the hell are you talking about?"
"Kid, we want the best!"
Leng Shao and Brother Shan were getting addicted to showing off.
"We'll make do."
Fearing that their continued boasting might cause trouble, Ye Zixiao had to intervene. He waved to the manager, and the group of over forty people majestically proceeded to the second-best sofa area.
The sofa area was very large.
It could accommodate a hundred people.
Under Leng Shao's arrangement, Ye Zixiao and Tang Keke sat in the most central position. Old Wei, Xiao Bao, and a few company commanders sat to Ye Zixiao's left, while the rest stood behind.
At first glance.
Ye Zixiao truly looked like a big shot!
To Ye Zixiao's right sat Brother Shan and his three brothers. Brother Shan felt this wasn't enough; he couldn't just let Leng Shao steal the spotlight. He whispered a few instructions into Da Xiong and Er Zhuang's ears.
"Understood!"
"No problem!"
The not-so-bright Da Xiong and Er Zhuang had never been to such a high-class place before, but they were very obedient. Whatever Brother Shan asked them to do, they would absolutely execute.
"You guys at this table, get lost."
"The young masters of Longdu are here, all of you scram."
At Brother Shan's instruction, Da Xiong and Er Zhuang, like simpletons, began to drive away guests from nearby tables, acting arrogantly and becoming more and more like their roles.
"Are you sick?"
At the sofa area, Leng Shao pointed at Brother Shan and cursed.
"You're the one who's sick!"
Brother Shan genuinely resented Leng Shao.
"Little brat, who the hell are you?"
"I'm Xiao, recently taken in by Big Brother."
"Damn it, I don't care who you are, quickly call your two idiotic subordinates back. We've shown off enough. If we keep this up, we might strain something!"
"Damn it, you don't need to manage my people."
When impetuous youth meets simple-mindedness, it inevitably leads to many interesting incidents. Like now, Leng Shao and Brother Shan, vying for favor, were on the verge of fighting each other.
Just then.
Da Xiong and Er Zhuang returned.
Not only had they returned, but they had also brought back several people, all looking to be in their thirties or forties. They appeared wealthy but were all smiling deferentially.
"What's going on?"
Leng Shao sensed that something was amiss.
Da Xiong and Er Zhuang didn't reply.
"What's happening?"
Brother Shan, standing beside them, asked arrogantly.
Da Xiong tilted his head and reported gruffly, "Brother Shan, Er Zhuang and I were clearing the area. The leaders of these few tables insisted on coming over for a drink. I thought they were quite sincere, so I agreed."
"That's right!"
Er Zhuang quickly chimed in.
"Uh!"
"Damn!"
Brother Shan was completely dumbfounded.
Leng Shao lowered his head and swore.
These two not-so-normal guys simultaneously thought that they had shown off too much, but it seemed to have worked. Not only did no one dare to cause trouble, but people even came over to toast them.
"Call for Young Master Ye!"
Da Xiong had completely gotten into character.
"Greetings, Young Master Ye!"
The six bosses who came to offer toasts bowed respectfully and raised their wine glasses, waiting for Ye Zixiao to reciprocate. However, Ye Zixiao's drinks hadn't even arrived yet.
As the saying goes.
When impetuous youth meets simple-mindedness.
Anything is possible...
