A little scoundrel

Chapter 29 Police Station Report, Meeting the Pretty Female Officer Again

Bai Ye rode Gou Dan, galloping wildly, weaving through roadside protective barriers in the suburbs, much faster than passing vehicles.

Entering the city, Bai Ye chose deserted alleys or had Gou Dan leap onto rooftops, traversing between them at extreme speed.

The man and dog soon arrived at the Pujiang Police Station, located near the city center.

It was a rather large police station.

Presumably, it had significant resources, perhaps a way to treat the panda. That's why Bai Ye chose it.

It was already midnight. Apart from passing vehicles, there were few pedestrians on the road.

Bai Ye had Gou Dan hide nearby and walked into the police station holding the panda cub.

"Halt."

The guard officer stopped him.

He immediately spotted the panda in Bai Ye's arms, his expression one of shock, then he looked up sharply at Bai Ye.

"Shocked, he exclaimed, "Brother Ye?"

"Uh, it's me!"

Bai Ye nodded. He hadn't expected this officer to recognize him.

He felt a pang of worry. "Could I be under police surveillance?"

The officer beamed, "Brother Ye, I'm a fan too! What's going on?"

Bai Ye said, "During my outdoor live stream, I accidentally saw..."

He briefly recounted the events.

The officer listened, his face a mask of shock.

"Quick, get him to the infirmary first. We'll contact a veterinarian and relevant experts as soon as possible."

The officer, looking anxious, led Bai Ye to the police station lobby.

"Brother Ye, I have to stay on post. A colleague will be here soon to take over. There might be some official record-keeping. Don't worry, just tell them the truth; it's not a big deal!"

Bai Ye smiled helplessly as the enthusiastic officer departed.

"If I tell the truth, would it still be a small matter?"

Cough~

Just as the fan officer left, someone else approached. A graceful figure, a female officer, accompanied by two other officers.

Bai Ye looked up, his brows furrowing slightly.

This pretty female officer, as fate would have it, was the same one who had been pursuing the murderer that afternoon. The one Bai Ye had evaded with a 'great transformation' trick when he saw her looking for him, fearing trouble!

The female officer looked at Bai Ye, her expression also showing a hint of surprise, followed by a slight smile.

Observing her smile, Bai Ye felt a sense of foreboding. Her eyes seemed to hold a trace of resentment!

The pretty female officer addressed the officers beside her, "Take the panda cub to the infirmary. Treat its wounds and await the arrival of physicians and experts."

"Yes, sir!"

Two young officers carefully took the panda cub from Bai Ye's arms. Da Feng Novel Network.

Seeing the numerous wounds on its body, the trio looked sad and heartbroken. However, it was comforting to know that the panda cub still had a heartbeat, albeit weak, but tenacious.

The two young officers quickly left with the cub.

"The panda cub is in your care, so I'll be heading off now! No need for any 'Excellent Citizen' awards or commendations; I'm not interested in such things."

Bai Ye turned to leave.

"Wait!"

The pretty female officer rushed in front of Bai Ye, blocking his path.

"Big streamer Ye, why are you running when you see me? Do you have something to hide?"

She stared at Bai Ye, her eyes narrowed, her head tilted slightly. Her clear, bright eyes exuded the sharp gaze characteristic of a police officer.

Most criminals would likely reveal their true selves under such scrutiny.

"This woman!"

"Trying to pressure me?"

Bai Ye met her gaze directly, unreservedly, and replied, "Officer, please don't make malicious assumptions! I bravely saved someone earlier and risked my life to save a national treasure. I seek neither fame nor fortune; I act with integrity. What could I possibly have to hide?"

The pretty female officer's eyes narrowed. She leaned in close to Bai Ye and whispered, "Then why did your car suddenly break down and become unusable this afternoon?"

Bai Ye's gaze sharpened as he looked at the pretty female officer staring intently at him.

He then feigned ignorance, "I don't know either? Perhaps the car malfunctioned and just happened to stall right in front of us!"

The pretty female officer stepped closer, her chest nearly brushing against Bai Ye.

"Is that so?"

"It seems she's discovered something! And she's not letting go?"

"This place is not suitable for lingering!"

"Another 'great transformation'?"

Bai Ye scanned his surroundings, contemplating how to escape.

Suddenly, the pretty female officer took a step back, a smile gracing her lips.

"No need to be nervous, I'm just asking a few questions."

"My surname is Liang. You can call me Officer Liang. Please come to my office; we need to fill out some paperwork."

With that, the pretty female officer turned and walked towards the interior of the police station.

"???"

Seeing the sharp, scrutinizing look on the pretty female officer's face suddenly turn polite, Bai Ye was a bit bewildered.

"What does she want? Isn't she afraid I'll just run off?"

After a moment's thought, he followed.

In the moderately sized office, Officer Liang was alone.

She stood behind the desk, sorting through some forms. Her posture was elegant, and her loose uniform couldn't quite conceal her voluptuous figure; her ample bosom strained the fabric tightly.

Officer Liang looked up and gestured to the chair beside her, saying,

"Sit."

"Fill out these forms."

"Is it really okay?"

"Could this be a case of luring the tiger into its own lair?"

Bai Ye walked over suspiciously and picked up the forms.

One was a standard personal information form, and the other two were for normal record-keeping.

He looked at her questioningly.

Officer Liang smiled, "What? You seem a little afraid of me?"

Her beautiful eyes narrowed slightly, and she added, "Am I scarier than monsters and beasts?"

Bai Ye shook his head and chuckled, "Of course not! Officer Liang, you have a devilish figure and an angelic face; even fairies would be jealous! I couldn't possibly be afraid; I'm too infatuated!"

As he spoke, his gaze openly swept over her ample chest.

"Officer Liang, do you have a boyfriend?"

"This glib-tongued fellow! Changing the subject!"

Seeing Bai Ye shamelessly looking at her chest and asking about a boyfriend, Officer Liang's expression faltered, and a blush crept onto her cheeks.

Which boy before her wasn't trembling with fear? This was the first time she had encountered a young man bold enough to be so forward!

Her demeanor changed, her smile vanished, and she sternly ordered,

"Fill them out quickly!"

Bai Ye's lips curved slightly.

This Officer Liang clearly knew something and was trying to pry information out of him! But it seemed she had reservations, unable to resort to forceful tactics.

Therefore, she could only try to probe indirectly!

He picked up a nearby pen and began filling out the forms.

Name: Bai Ye

Date of Birth: March, 200A

Residential Address: Modu City

Occupation: Magic Streamer

Family Members: None

Contact Number: 183xxxxxxxx

He filled in his personal information truthfully. He had nothing to hide from the police. If they wanted to know, they could easily find out by checking his Douyin account or bank records.

Officer Liang, while tidying documents, couldn't resist her curiosity and kept glancing over.

"So his name is Bai Ye!"

Seeing that Bai Ye had written "None" for family members and that he was a post-00s, a hint of sympathy appeared in her eyes.

She had intended to extract more information but found herself unable to speak.

Bai Ye continued filling out the record forms.

For one, he briefly described the events of the afternoon: saving two girls and subduing a murderer.

For the other, he wrote about rescuing the national treasure panda from the giant black snake.

As for explaining the flame magic, he wrote: "Used a realistic human skin glove with a hidden device for atomized ethylene mist spray."

It was all a bunch of deceptive principles.

Officer Liang, peeking attentively from the side, watched Bai Ye explain the principles of flame magic. She remained relatively composed as the initial explanations were quite reasonable.

But towards the end, he seemed to run out of ideas and simply wrote "Trade secret, not to be disclosed."

"Perfunctory!!!"

"Does she think I'm an idiot?"

A few dark lines appeared on Officer Liang's forehead, and her fists slowly clenched.

However, after a moment, she took a deep breath and forcefully suppressed the resentment within her.

"This brat! If it weren't for the secret orders from above, I'd definitely pin you down and thoroughly examine your secrets!"

"Officer Liang, I'm done. Please take a look."

Bai Ye handed her the forms. Noticing her gaze, which was as wistful as a neglected young wife of many years, he exclaimed, "Officer Liang, are you feeling unwell?"

Looking at Bai Ye, Officer Liang suddenly felt a surge of emotion. She snorted coldly and said,

"Press your fingerprints."

She took the ink pad and Bai Ye pressed his fingerprints.

Officer Liang collected the documents and said coldly while organizing them,

"You can leave now!"

"Leave?"

Bai Ye was slightly surprised, then a subtle smile spread across his face.

He had expected this officer to make things difficult for him, to force him to reveal all his secrets before allowing him to leave.

But now, it seemed his guess was correct: she suspected something but also had reservations!

After walking a couple of steps, Bai Ye suddenly turned back and said, "Officer Liang, we're all modern people. You should believe in science and not be so suspicious."

As he spoke, he flipped his hands, and a vibrant red rose appeared in his palm.

"A flower for a beautiful lady, for you!"

He placed the flower on her desk and then swaggered out of the police station.

Officer Liang watched Bai Ye's retreating figure, her chest heaving violently, a tempestuous sea.

She picked up the rose from the desk, and a fragrance wafted towards her.

"It's actually a real rose!!"

"How did he conjure it???"

Officer Liang clutched the rose, falling into deep thought. Suddenly, her cheeks flushed red.

"Why did this fellow give me a rose???"

On the other side, as Bai Ye exited the police station, the fan officer at the entrance bid him farewell enthusiastically, wanting a photo with Bai Ye before he left.

Bai Ye obliged him.

After walking a short distance and ensuring he wasn't being followed, Bai Ye turned into an alley.

Woof woof!!

Gou Dan emerged from the darkness.

"Let's go! Home!"

Mounting Gou Dan, the man and dog disappeared into the night.
