Qiao Ziqian stared at her, his handsome, sun-kissed face a mixture of emotions.
He suddenly stepped forward and hugged Meng Jingwei. "Mengmeng, thank you."
His action drew the attention of many onlookers, their curious gazes shifting between the two of them.
Meng Jingwei immediately pushed him away. "That's enough. If you don't let go, I'll be bombarded with negative rumors tomorrow."
Qiao Ziqian immediately released her, glanced around, and scratched his head, smiling sheepishly. "Sorry, I was just too excited."
"Take some time to calm down. I need to go check out the Blue Star Lake behind us."
"What are you going to the Blue Star Lake for?"
"It's snowing, isn't it..." Meng Jingwei pointed to the swirling snow outside with her script in hand. "Director Li scheduled two fight scenes in the snow to be filmed early."
"Oh, that's good. As long as it's not a water scene, it's fine," Qiao Ziqian said.
Meng Jingwei, with a wry smile, replied, "But it is a scene where I fall into the water."
"What?" His brow furrowed, his face filled with worry. "It's the middle of winter, and they're filming a water scene in the snow. What if you freeze?"
"It should be fine."
Meng Jingwei finished speaking and walked past him, taking a bite of a candied hawthorn stick. She then turned back and waved the candied hawthorn at him, who stood there looking foolish. "It's very authentic, tastes like childhood."
"As long as it's delicious."
Qiao Ziqian turned back, watching Meng Jingwei walk away.
He took out a cigarette pack from his pocket, lit a cigarette, and placed it between his lips.
A woman who was gentle, kind, beautiful, generous, dedicated to her work, and who could enjoy fine dining as much as simple snacks, her simple yet sincere nature made her hard not to like.
Since he had met Meng Jingwei, Qiao Ziqian hadn't found any fault with her yet.
He couldn't help but wonder why his elder brother had divorced such an outstanding woman.
"What are you thinking about?"
Suddenly, someone patted his shoulder from behind.
Qiao Ziqian turned to look at Tang Wanxing standing behind him and slightly raised his chin, indicating Meng Jingwei not far away. "She's quite resilient."
"Heh. Temperatures near freezing, filming fight scenes, this should be interesting."
Tang Wanxing brushed her long hair back, adjusting the down jacket over her costume. A hint of ruthlessness flickered across her classically beautiful face.
"They're already divorced, why is she still targeting her everywhere?"
Qiao Ziqian held the cigarette between his fingers, his lips exhaling a wisp of white smoke. The biting cold wind blew past, scattering the light smoke.
"You don't understand."
She shook her head, sighing. "Even though she's divorced Ye, she's still the mother of his two children. As long as she's around, she's a threat."
Despite the public announcement of Qing Muye and Meng Jingwei's divorce, Tang Wanxing still felt no sense of security.
She always felt that Meng Jingwei's existence was her greatest threat.
"Xingxing."
The man turned sideways, his gaze falling on her face. "Perhaps you've been focusing on the wrong direction from the start."
"What do you mean?"
"Your target is Big Brother, not her," Qiao Ziqian flicked the ash off his cigarette, bringing it back to his lips for a puff. "If Big Brother finds out about the conflict between you and her, it will only lower your favorability in his eyes."
He analyzed the current situation rationally.
Tang Wanxing's slender, arched eyebrows lifted slightly, and her cherry-red lips curved into a sarcastic smile. "How long have you known her, and you're already speaking up for her?"
She paused, then added, "Don't tell me you've taken a liking to her."
