Chapter 1331 Unveiling the Truth

Outside the temple, Tang Ziwei’s subordinates stood guard. Even if the monks inside wanted to witness the commotion, they could only watch from afar.

Due to Tang Si’s peculiar situation, Tang Ziwei had not yet dared to tell his parents that Tang Si had become a monk.

He could only tell them that Tang Si had been found and that he would be brought home safely.

Zhao Wuyan pleaded with tears streaming down her face, but Tang Si’s eyes remained closed, unfazed, as if he were a true Buddhist disciple detached from the world, unmoved by worldly affairs.

“If you insist on giving birth to the child, you can let my mother raise it. If you are unwilling, you can raise it yourself, and the Tang family will provide you with financial support.”

Tang Si responded to Zhao Wuyan’s words.

However, throughout the exchange, he did not open his eyes to look at her.

Hearing his words, Zhao Wuyan froze. Even the tears in her eyes seemed to have stopped.

She stared at him, dumbfounded and incredulous, utterly unable to accept the heartless words he had spoken.

“Tang Ziwei, listen to this. Does your brother’s statement make any sense?”

Huo Xiaohua pushed aside Qing Muye, pointed at Tang Si, and yelled at Tang Ziwei, “Do you think our Huo family can’t afford to raise a child?”

“Brother, please stop talking!”

Zhao Wuyan suddenly shouted, her gaze fixed on Tang Si.

She swallowed, wiped the tears from her face with her sleeve, and feigned calmness as she spoke to Tang Si, “Si Bing, since you don’t want me or the child, then I will die here. The outside world knows I’m carrying your child and that we are to be married. Now that you’ve abandoned me, what face do I have left to live?”

Zhao Wuyan seemed to be gambling, betting whether Tang Si would turn back.

After speaking, she stood up and moved to crash into a nearby pillar.

Qing Muye gave Han Yu a look. Han Yu, being the closest to Zhao Wuyan, quickly grabbed her, “This is a temple, and you can’t cause trouble here.”

“Enough.”

At this moment, Tang Ziwei spoke.

His expression was heavy, tinged with pain. He lowered his head and sighed deeply, “Xiao Si, I’ve failed you, brother.”

His sudden apology left everyone bewildered.

Only Zhao Wuyan’s body trembled violently. She turned back, looking at him as if her pupils were dilating, and shook her head slightly, unable to stop herself.

“Wuyan… her child is not yours.” Tang Ziwei gathered his courage and revealed the truth.

Although he had been infatuated, his brother was still his brother. He couldn’t bear to let him carry such immense pressure, ultimately forcing him to become a monk.

Everyone looked at Tang Ziwei with astonishment, their gazes fixed on him.

Zhao Wuyan kept shaking her head, murmuring softly, “No… no, don’t…”

As she murmured, she struggled to rush towards Tang Ziwei.

Han Yu, being a police officer, instantly understood something and tightly held onto Zhao Wuyan, preventing her from lunging at Tang Ziwei.

Then, Tang Ziwei’s gaze shifted to Zhao Wuyan. With a pained expression, he looked at her and weakly explained, “Wuyan had taken medicine that day, and you abandoned her and left the old house. Afterward, I happened to return home, and Wuyan she…”

“Stop talking, Tang Ziwei…呜呜… I beg you, please stop talking, don’t…” Zhao Wuyan shook her head frantically, her voice growing louder, eventually turning into hysterical screams.

Han Yu covered her mouth, interrupting her outburst.

Silence fell upon the temple once more. Tang Ziwei continued, “She… she begged me desperately…” At this point, Tang Ziwei lowered his gaze. “Xiao Si, I’ve failed you, brother. I… I like Wuyan, so I’ve been hiding this from you for her.”

Love is enough to make one lose their way.
