Chapter 1630 Shi Ran is Lost

Heaven knows how happy Zhao Wuyan was at this moment.

It was like being in the vast ocean and holding onto a piece of driftwood, like someone in dire straits seeing a rescue ship in their despair, such was the joy and hope that illuminated her recent gloomy world.

Ever since she appeared before Tang Si without underwear in the Bo Ren President’s office last time, it was as if she had touched Tang Si’s bottom line, and he had directly banished her to the cold palace.

This child had come at the perfect time.

Too perfect.

Therefore, Zhao Wuyan's happiness was beyond words or description.

"Heh, look at you, you have no ambition," Huo Xiaohua shook his head, and seeing her ecstatic joy, he chuckled along, his words filled with affection for his sister.

The two walked down from the second floor, still chatting while standing on the escalator.

As they were laughing and talking, Zhao Wuyan's gaze caught sight of a pregnant woman standing on the ascending escalator next to them.

The pregnant woman was looking down at her phone, her long hair falling to one side of her face, obscuring half of it. She looked somewhat familiar.

The escalators moved up and down, and as she almost brushed past the woman, Zhao Wuyan still couldn't see her clearly.

Zhao Wuyan kept looking back at the woman until the escalator reached the second floor. As the woman stepped off the escalator and turned at the corner of the staircase, Zhao Wuyan clearly, truly saw the woman's face.

Instantly, her face turned ashen, her pupils widening.

"Careful!"

The escalator reached the first floor, and Zhao Wuyan was still looking back at the people on the second floor. She almost tripped, but Huo Xiaohua steadied her, "Why aren't you watching where you're going?"

"Shi Ran, Shi Ran."

Zhao Wuyan's feet moved onto the floor, but her eyes were still looking back towards the second floor.

There were many people coming and going at the hospital. Huo Xiaohua didn't hear clearly what Zhao Wuyan was saying, "What did you say?"

"That's Shi Ran."

Saying this, Zhao Wuyan shook off Huo Xiaohua's hand and turned to get on the escalator.

Standing on the escalator, the steps were crowded with patients and their escorts coming to the hospital. Even though Zhao Wuyan wanted to go up quickly, she couldn't push through the crowd. "Excuse me, please let me through."

She said to the person in front of her, trying to push aside those blocking her path to go up and catch up with Shi Ran.

"Hey, what are you doing? My mother is half-paralyzed. Are you crazy?" The daughter of the old woman blocking the way yelled at Zhao Wuyan. Zhao Wuyan was anxious, her gaze fixed on the second floor, completely oblivious to what the old woman's daughter was shouting.

Huo Xiaohua, who had followed her, steadied Zhao Wuyan and finally understood what she had been saying. He comforted her, "Are you sure you saw correctly?"

"No, how could I forget that face? I couldn't be wrong, it must be her, it's her!" Zhao Wuyan was emotional, her hands gripping Huo Xiaohua's sleeve. "Why is she here? I just... I just saw she was pregnant."

Her gaze finally fell on Huo Xiaohua, her beautiful eyes shimmering with moisture, like a wounded fawn in the forest, lost and innocent.

Huo Xiaohua frowned and glanced at the second floor as well, but there were too many people coming and going, making it impossible to find the person they were looking for. "You're under too much pressure; it's normal to see things incorrectly."

"Besides, pregnancy makes one paranoid. Don't overthink it. Come, let's go back and rest."

As he spoke, the two had already reached the second floor.

Huo Xiaohua tried to pull Zhao Wuyan back, but Zhao Wuyan had already pushed his hand away and began searching for Shi Ran in the crowd on the second floor.

However, they circled the second floor a whole time and still couldn't find Shi Ran.

Twenty minutes later, exhausted, Zhao Wuyan collapsed onto a bench in the corridor, her head hanging, utterly dejected.
