Chapter 635 Searching for His Whereabouts

Finally, Meng Jingwei made a phone call to Qi He.

Although Qi He was not at the accident scene that day, she had asked him to monitor all the surveillance around the hotel.

When she called, before she could speak, Qi He said, "President Meng, your call finally went through."

"Do you know where Qing Muye is?"

Meng Jingwei questioned him directly, perhaps without even realizing it herself, her voice trembled noticeably as she spoke.

"Zhang Hui and I were in the monitoring room all afternoon, but the hotel's signal was jammed, and we couldn't see anything inside. However, a few hours ago, we saw several cars leaving the garage, heading through the city center to the riverside avenue, and then they disappeared into a blind spot in the surveillance."

Qi He reported the situation to her truthfully.

"Did you see who was in the cars? Did you see Qing Muye?"

Meng Jingwei waited for Qi He's answer.

Qi He and Zhang Hui were both from a private detective agency, two capable individuals whom she had poached.

However, Zhang Hui was taciturn and rarely spoke, so Meng Jingwei usually communicated with Qi He.

"When I enlarged the surveillance footage, I could only see that the driver was Lu Yanming, Young Master Lu. The second car had Han Yu in it, and I didn't recognize anyone else. I vaguely saw someone in the back seat of the first car, but I couldn't make out who it was."

He wasn't sure if Qing Muye was there, but since they were brothers, they wouldn't abandon Qing Muye.

"They disappeared on the riverside avenue, is that right?"

Meng Jingwei pressed for details.

"Yes, they disappeared on the riverside avenue. I've pulled up the surveillance footage from all the other exits on that avenue, and I haven't seen their cars come out."

"I understand. Thank you for continuing to investigate."

Meng Jingwei hung up the phone, connected her mobile phone to the car's Bluetooth, started the car, and sped towards the riverside avenue.

Unfortunately, she had arrived at West Mountain Villa by helicopter. Driving there now, even at full speed, would take over an hour.

This period was an absolute torment for her, almost driving her to the brink of collapse.

Meng Jingwei tried her best to remain calm and composed in the face of adversity, fearing that if she lost her composure, it would only create more trouble.

Along the way, she drove the car quickly yet smoothly. Despite forcing herself to be quiet, her mind would wander uncontrollably, and she almost crashed into the car in front of her.

After an unknown amount of time, Meng Jingwei's phone rang. She glanced at the number; it was Daisy Tini.

She answered the call without hesitation.

"Meng Jingwei, where are you right now?"

In the villa, a maid brought food to Meng Jingwei and knocked on the door, but it remained unanswered. Daisy Tini was worried, so she took the congee from the maid to deliver it herself, only to discover that Meng Jingwei was gone.

She panicked, and in her anxiety, she even called Meng Jingwei by her full name.

"I'm outside, I'm fine, you don't need to worry about me."

"Why didn't you tell us when you went out?"

Daisy Tini sounded somewhat annoyed.

"Did you tell me when you secretly put my phone in airplane mode and blocked the villa's internet?"

Meng Jingwei questioned her back, but then calmly added, "I'm really okay, you don't need to worry about me."

"Where are you now?"

"I'm heading towards the riverside avenue. The last surveillance showed they disappeared on that stretch of road."

"Alright, we're coming over now."

Daisy Tini hung up the phone and immediately led people to chase after Meng Jingwei.

Meng Jingwei put her phone aside and continued driving forward, forcing the calmness within her heart like a seal, but eventually, that seal began to waver, struggle, crack, and finally shatter.
