Leaving the private room, they went downstairs. After Yuan Wei paid the bill, they left the private dining restaurant together.
Yuan Wei took the flowers from the car and handed them to Shi Ran. With a bright smile like a sunshine boy, he asked, "Do you want me to pick you up this afternoon?"
"I... I have to work overtime tonight. There's a lot of company business left unfinished lately."
Shi Ran politely refused.
Although Yuan Wei didn't say anything, Shi Ran could feel the intense, almost fanatical liking in his eyes.
She felt it was necessary to find a time to make things clear with Yuan Wei, that she didn't like him.
"Alright then, we'll contact each other later."
Yuan Wei smiled and said to Lin Meng, "Sister Lin Meng, get in the car." He also waved to Tang Si, "Young Master Tang, see you."
Lin Meng waved goodbye to them as well and got into the car.
Only then did the two of them leave.
Watching the sedan drive onto the road, merge into the traffic, and disappear, Shi Ran turned to look at Tang Si, "Did Sister Wei ask you to find me? What's the matter?"
Tang Si looked at the bouquet of flowers Shi Ran was holding, and found it particularly glaring.
He cast a disdainful glance at her, pointed at the sun in the sky, and asked, "Are you sure you want to chat under the scorching sun?"
"Then where should we go?" Shi Ran also felt a bit hot. She held the flowers in one hand and raised the other to shield her forehead from the burning sun.
"To your place," he said.
"My place?"
Shi Ran instinctively took a step back and shook her head repeatedly, "No..."
"Are you planning to go to your company parading around with a bouquet of flowers?"
Tang Si interrupted her. Sensing the natural wariness on her face, his heart sank. He felt as if something was stuck in his throat, unable to go up or down, making him feel suffocated.
He strode over to her in a few steps, looking down at her. "Am I a wolf? Are you afraid I'll eat you?"
Shi Ran: "..."
More terrifying than a wolf.
She thought this in her heart, hesitated for a moment, and then said, "No," but her head honestly nodded.
The anger that Tang Si had suppressed suddenly surged. He grabbed her arm. "Shi Ran, get it straight. You were the one who climbed into my bed first. If I'm a wolf, then what are you? Huh?"
The last "Huh" was drawn out, laced with thick displeasure.
A chilling aura emanated from him, and Shi Ran shivered, biting her red lips tightly, not daring to speak.
Just then, a taxi passed by. Tang Si waved and flagged it down, pulled Shi Ran into the car, and headed straight for her apartment.
Half an hour later, the two stood in the living room of Shi Ran's apartment.
It was originally Shi Ran's home, but after Tang Si entered, a sense of familiarity washed over him. He relaxed and walked to the sofa to sit down, crossing his legs.
Shi Ran, holding the flowers Yuan Wei had given her, stood in the living room, at a loss and bewildered.
"What are you standing for? Sit down."
He leaned back on the sofa lazily and commanded Shi Ran.
His demeanor was that of taking over the host's role.
"Oh."
Shi Ran placed the flowers on the table, took off her bag and put it on the sofa. She then obediently sat on the sofa, legs together, hands resting on her knees, looking like a well-behaved primary school student, watching Tang Si.
The two of them stared at each other.
One second.
Two seconds.
Three seconds.
Suddenly, Shi Ran stood up. "This is my home, alright? What I do is none of your business. Really!"
She turned around, stomped her foot, and huffily went to the kitchen.
Tang Si was stunned by her outburst. He thought she would storm into the kitchen to grab a cleaver in anger, but he found her holding a kettle and filling it with water to boil.
Seeing this, the anger in his heart gradually subsided, and his mood improved considerably.
Leaning back on the sofa, he looked around Shi Ran's apartment. Everything was exactly the same as when he had lived there.
