Chapter 138 The Thoughts of Qing Muye

"Nothing."

Qing Muye took the glass from her hand and turned to leave the study.

He returned to the bedroom to shower and rest, but was still a little worried about Meng Jingwei, fearing that the foolish woman would fall asleep in the study.

As expected, when he appeared at the study door in his pajamas, Meng Jingwei was indeed asleep, slumped over the desk.

Qing Muye walked up to her, intending to carry her back to his bedroom, but ultimately decided against it. Instead, he fetched a blanket and covered her with it.

The weather had turned cold, and sleeping without a blanket at night could easily lead to a cold.

Seeing that she was fast asleep, with the computer still on the game page and headphones on, she had fallen asleep with her head on the desk. Even with the loud audio from the headphones, it hadn't woken her.

Qing Muye turned off the computer, helped her lean back against the executive chair, and pressed a button. The chair back tilted back to forty-five degrees, a comfortable position for sleeping.

Although sleeping here wasn't particularly comfortable, Qing Muye knew that once she left Lancheng, no one would be there to take care of her every day, and some things she would have to adapt to on her own.

Looking at the sleeping young woman, she seemed burdened with worries in her sleep, a lingering melancholy etched on her brow, and her eyebrows slightly furrowed.

Qing Muye half-knelt in front of her, reaching out to her cheek and gently smoothing her furrowed brow.

After a short while, the man got up, left the study, and turned off the lights.

The next day, Meng Jingwei woke up in the study and smelled a familiar aroma as she walked into the living room.

Her eyes lit up. She went to the kitchen and found Qing Muye simmering porridge. "Good morning. What kind of porridge are you making today?"

The handsome man, wearing a black shirt and with his hair slicked back, was radiant. He had a checkered apron tied around his waist, which surprisingly suited him and made him seem more down-to-earth.

"Shrimp congee."

Qing Muye's tone towards her was tinged with a hint of tenderness.

"It smells delicious, but why..."

Meng Jingwei rubbed her nose and gave an awkward smile. "Why is it that you only know how to make congee and nothing else?"

"Because I don't want to."

"Tch, if you don't know how, just say so. Don't pretend it's a choice."

Meng Jingwei pouted, grinned at him, and said, "I'm going to brush my teeth."

"Go ahead."

He responded and watched Meng Jingwei skip out of the kitchen and back into the bedroom.

At her young age, she was full of vitality. She should be living life like this, skipping and being genuine and carefree.

Ten minutes later, Shu Yao and Meng Jingwei were sitting at the dining table waiting for breakfast.

Qing Muye brought two bowls of porridge on a tray and placed them on the table, one in front of Meng Jingwei and one in front of himself.

Meng Jingwei blinked, then looked up at him. "What about Shu Yao's?"

"I only made two."

Qing Muye didn't look at Shu Yao, as if she didn't exist.

This situation made Shu Yao feel a bit awkward. She shook her head. "It's okay, you two eat. I'll go out and buy some breakfast."

"That's fine."

"Why buy when we have food at home? Such a waste."

As soon as Qing Muye finished speaking, Meng Jingwei retorted at Shu Yao and directly pushed Qing Muye's breakfast towards Shu Yao. "Try it, it's delicious."

"Uh… this, no, no, no, you don't have to."

Shu Yao waved her hands repeatedly. "This is Young Master Qing's. How can I eat it?"

"Has Miss Shu's room not been found yet?"

Qing Muye sat opposite them, his sharp gaze fixed on Shu Yao, questioning her.

His eyes seemed to penetrate the soul, making her shiver.

Shu Yao looked at Meng Jingwei for help. Meng Jingwei, seeing the 'shining' great benefactor, naturally didn't dare to offend. She put her arm around Shu Yao's neck and said to Qing Muye, "Brother, let me formally introduce you. This is my friend Shu Yao. Yao Yao is the boss of a cosmetics company and wants to cooperate with your company. Since we're so close, and you're my brother, which makes you my friend's brother, would you consider cooperating?"

She was leaving Lancheng in a few days, so she needed to sort out Shu Yao's matters quickly, otherwise, she wouldn't get the money from Shu Yao.

Qing Muye remained silent, his arms crossed as he sat opposite them, his expression stern and imposing.

Normally, he would have refused outright, but seeing Meng Jingwei's fawning smile, he saw through the woman's little schemes at a glance.

He stood up and left.

"Hey, Brother? Big Brother? Qing Muye, don't go. We're family now, shouldn't you look out for my friend Sister Yao?" Meng Jingwei thought Qing Muye wouldn't agree and had left in anger.

But unexpectedly, he found something in the bar counter drawer, then returned, walked to the dining room, and placed a business card in front of Shu Yao. "Provide your company's qualifications, and contact my assistant directly."

Shu Yao looked at the gilded business card, was stunned for a moment, then immediately stood up and nodded slightly at Qing Muye. "Thank you, Young Master Qing."

"Haha, Big Brother is mighty. But… Big Brother, when do you plan to sign with Yao Yao?" Meng Jingwei pressed, her face full of anticipation.

"It's fine, I'm not in a hurry. I'm not in a hurry," Shu Yao said with a smile.

"Shut up!"

Meng Jingwei shot her a fierce glare.

The meaning was clear: You're not in a hurry, but I'm leaving Lancheng soon, and I'm in a hurry!

The man placed his hands in his suit pockets, standing tall, and looked down at Meng Jingwei. "According to you, when is the best time to sign?"

"Hmm… let me think…"

She tilted her head, her fingers touching her chin, pondering with great seriousness. "I think five days. No, no… five days is too long. Three… two days would be fine. Besides, your companies are so close. We can provide all qualifications and information today, and sign today."

Shu Yao was taken aback by Meng Jingwei's words.

"Heh heh heh, this… isn't this too rushed?" She tugged at Meng Jingwei's sleeve and whispered in her ear, "Generally, signing requires a process. How can it be settled in one day?"

Especially since they were just an unknown small company.

"What process?"

"This is company policy. It's better to follow the rules."

"What rules? The company belongs to my brother, so of course, my brother decides everything. His word is the 'rule'!"

Meng Jingwei was eager for Qing Muye to sign with Shu Yao so she could receive her 3.5 million "bonus" and start her own business back home.

"Even so…"

Just as Shu Yao was about to explain company procedures to Meng Jingwei, Qing Muye opened his thin lips and said, "Okay."

This concise word stunned Shu Yao for a moment. Meng Jingwei, however, slapped the table and pointed at him, saying triumphantly to Shu Yao, "See? I told you my brother is the most amazing. I'm going to type 'Awesome' on the public screen!"

"Heh heh heh."

Shu Yao forced a stiff smile. "Yes, yes, yes, Young Master Qing is amazing, truly amazing."

If Young Master Qing weren't amazing, she wouldn't have bothered cooperating with him.

"Miss Shu, can you leave now?"
