Chapter 119 A Rare Rest

Su Ding arrived in the city well past ten at night.

She had specifically refused Jin Ye’s offer to pick her up, knowing he had a demanding workday ahead.

Returning home, she opened the door to a warm, inviting light.

Jin Ye was sitting on the sofa, the television displaying a variety show she was recording. It was the first episode, and the opening segment was currently playing.

Su Ding walked over, surprised, only to find Jin Ye with his eyes half-closed, seemingly asleep.

She figured the episode must have finished and was now replaying automatically.

This feeling of someone waiting for her upon her return in the evening was incredibly warm and blissful.

Su Ding approached him, looking at the tired lines on the man’s face under the warm light, a wave of tenderness washing over her. She spoke softly, "Honey, let's go to the bedroom to sleep."

Jin Ye remained still.

Su Ding’s embarrassment wasn't as intense now. She rarely called Jin Ye that.

Except in bed, when the man had forced her to.

Su Ding composed herself, leaned closer to Jin Ye’s ear, and gently patted him, "Honey, wake up, let's go to the bedroom."

Suddenly, the sleeping man’s arm wrapped around her slender waist. Caught off guard, she fell into his embrace.

Beneath Jin Ye’s dark eyes, a deep affection was hidden.

"You! You were faking sleep!" Su Ding playfully hit his chest, a mix of shyness and annoyance.

"No, I woke up the first time you called me," Jin Ye’s lips curved into a slight smile, a playful glint in his eyes. He lowered his voice, "Call me again."

"Call you what? I don't know," Su Ding’s face flushed as she feigned ignorance.

"Quick, call me again."

Jin Ye’s voice was husky, and his warm hands, still holding Su Ding, began to move restlessly.

Su Ding immediately felt something was amiss, "Honey! I called, now let me up..."

The next second, she was lifted into the air and carried towards the bedroom.

"Hey! Aren't you very tired?" Su Ding, worried about disturbing Xiao Rui, kept her voice low.

"I'm not tired when I see you."

Jin Ye's voice was filled with delight. He closed the door with his free hand and then leaned over her.

"Wait, I just got back and haven't showered yet," Su Ding attempted to resist.

"Be good, we'll wash up after."

"Mmm..."

After being worn out half the night just yesterday, tonight was starting all over again.

In the end, Su Ding was bathed and then carried back to the bed, even forgetting her plan to punish the man for the marks he'd left on her.

The next morning, the film crew called to say that the actor working with Su Ding had encountered an unexpected situation, and their schedule was rescheduled for another day.

Su Ding happened to be free at home, so Jin Ye, upon hearing this, brought his work home.

It had indeed been a while since the two of them had properly doted on each other.

After lunch, Jin Ye was working on his laptop in the living room, while Su Ding leaned against him, watching television—her own variety show.

When it came to her appearance, the bullet comments were actually criticizing her for being fake?!

Su Ding scoffed. That “Meng” persona was genuinely fake and pretentious. Fortunately, there were still some normal viewers.

She munched on snacks while watching the show and unexpectedly discovered that she and Lü Xi had been paired up as a couple! The bullet comments even described it as if it were real.

Lü Xi had proactively offered to help her with her luggage:

[Look at Lü Xi’s eyes, those are clearly the eyes one has for a girl they secretly love!]

[You can feel the suppressed love even through the screen.]

[But isn't Su Ding being kept by a sugar daddy? Poor Lü Xi Gege.]

...

Su Ding quietly looked at the stern and imposing man beside her—her sugar daddy.

"What's wrong?" Jin Ye asked, casually popping a potato chip into her mouth.

"Nothing," Su Ding obediently ate it and continued watching the show.

Jin Ye slowly shifted his gaze to the television, just as the bullet comments were discussing Lü Xi’s gaze at Su Ding. His brow furrowed.

"These bullet comments are really funny."

Su Ding chuckled and quickly fast-forwarded. For some reason, she felt a bit flustered, as if she had actually done something illicit.
