Chapter 51 Impersonating Xiao Xi to Call Dad

Su Xiaorui had been staying at Xiao Yuan's house these days, looked after by Xiao Yuan's mother-in-law.

One day, her mother-in-law took her to the supermarket to buy groceries. In a moment of carelessness, Su Xiaorui wandered off and couldn't be found.

Looking up, she was surrounded by adults' legs.

She scratched her head, about to tell a supermarket saleswoman her situation, when she turned and bumped into someone's leg.

"Ouch!"

Su Xiaorui rubbed her bumped head, her eyes welling up with tears as she looked at the man in front of her.

When she clearly saw the man's face, her eyes widened!

Isn't this Little Xi's father?!

Jing Ye, having bumped into a child, lowered his head to check if the child was alright and found himself looking at his son, Little Xi.

But this outfit, it didn't seem familiar.

"Little Xi, what are you doing here?"

He looked at "Little Xi's" wide eyes, wondering why Little Xi was so surprised to see him.

"Little Jing Xi" trembled with a racing heart, her small hands clenched tightly, remaining silent.

Yesterday, her mother-in-law had taken her to get a haircut, bought her sportswear, and even given her a baseball cap, which made her look like a little boy, very much like Little Xi.

She had originally planned to have her mother-in-law cook soup today and then visit her mother in the hospital.

She also wanted to tease her mother to see if she could recognize her and Little Xi. Who knew she would run into Little Xi's father.

And he had mistaken her for Little Xi!

"I, I..." Su Xiaorui bit her lip, her eyes darting around. She mimicked Little Xi's voice and tone, "Dad, why are you here?"

Jing Ye frowned, feeling that Little Xi was a bit strange today.

He said casually, "I came to buy a bottle of water. Who did you come with?"

"I came with Auntie to buy groceries," Su Xiaorui gave a casual reason and then took Jing Ye's hand.

Jing Ye's hand was large and warm.

It enveloped her small hand, making her feel very safe.

So this was what it felt like to have a father…

Jing Ye's expression became even stranger. Little Jing Xi had never proactively held his hand before; today was quite unusual.

He didn't dislike it; in fact, he enjoyed it.

The father-son bond was strong, and although he didn't express it often, he loved his child.

"Little Jing Xi" smiled sweetly, "Dad, can you hold me? Like them."

She pointed with her chubby finger at a father holding his daughter nearby, her eyes full of expectation.

Jing Ye hesitated for a moment, then bent down and picked up "his son."

He was tall, so holding Su Xiaorui, her field of vision was exceptionally good.

Su Xiaorui was visibly happy. She couldn't help but reach out her small hand and hug her father's neck, "Wow, you're so tall."

Seeing his son's unusual closeness, Jing Ye's lips curved upwards slightly.

It was also Su Xiaorui's first time seeing Jing Ye's face up close; he was incredibly handsome.

More handsome than Uncle Xue Zhi Qiao!

Most importantly, he really looked a bit like her.

Could he really be her father?

Su Xiaorui's heart pounded. This was different from anything before. She genuinely liked this seemingly cold uncle.

"Dad, you're so handsome."

She accidentally spoke her mind.

Jing Ye raised an eyebrow upon hearing this. What was with Little Xi today? He was exceptionally lively.

Seeing his expression, Su Xiaorui realized she had said the wrong thing.

She covered her small mouth and giggled twice. She really liked her dad.

But if she didn't go back soon, her mother-in-law would worry about her.

She could only say, "Dad, okay, put me down. Auntie should be done buying groceries. I'm going to find her!"

Jing Ye put her down and patted her head, "I'll take you to find her."

Su Xiaorui quickly shook her head, "Dad, you go ahead and be busy. I'm going to find Auntie."

With that, she pushed Jing Ye away and ran off.

Jing Ye couldn't stop her; he watched the little figure disappear.

He was even more perplexed. What was going on with Little Xi?
