Chapter 33 The Future Movie Queen

Su Ding handed the list back to Lan Shi. "Thank you, I appreciate the trouble."

Lan Shi nodded with a smile, his eyes full of admiration.

Indeed, his cousin's taste was impeccable. His future cousin-in-law couldn't be that superficial and rude woman from earlier.

Just then, the director rushed back.

Seeing Lan Shi, he paused for a few seconds, his mind quickly searching for the man's identity.

Lan Shi handed over his business card. "Director Wang, this is my card. I'd appreciate it if you could take good care of this future movie queen."

Director Wang saw the name on the card: Lan Shi, Department Manager of Huangqi Group.

His old face instantly changed color, and he nodded repeatedly.

Lan Shi was Director Jin's cousin, and the Lan family was also one of the shareholders of Huangqi Group. This meant that Su Ding's position as future movie queen was firmly secured!

His gaze towards Su Ding now carried a hint of reverence.

Su Ding felt a bit bewildered, uncomfortable under the scrutiny of so many eyes.

Not far away, the carriage full of roses was dazzlingly beautiful, making a high-profile declaration to the entire cast and crew: Su Ding had a powerful backer!

She suddenly felt an immense pressure.

Lan Shi asked the director to arrange for the flowers to be unloaded before driving his luxury car away in a cloud of dust.

After Lan Shi left, Su Ding was surrounded by many people.

"Su Ding, who was that handsome guy just now?"

"Damn, those roses must have cost at least ten thousand. He's so rich..."

"I really couldn't tell that you had such strong backing, Su Ding."

...

Su Ding gave a dry laugh but didn't reply.

Fortunately, the director called for filming to begin, which broke her awkward situation.

The scene today was where Su Ding, playing a maidservant, revealed her true colors and tricked the female lead into the garden lake to drown her, only to be caught red-handed by the male lead.

The male lead, enraged, kicked the wicked maidservant into the lake!

Su Qingmu, having changed into her costume, came out and saw the director treating Su Ding with such politeness, a venomous glint flashed in her eyes.

A supporting actress playing a mere maidservant dared to be so conspicuous on set.

She deserved to be taught the rules of the set!

"Action!"

Su Ding, with a ferocious expression, grabbed Su Qingmu, who was playing the female lead, and sneered maliciously, "Your Highness, today is your day of death!"

Saying that, she dragged the female lead towards the riverside.

Su Qingmu cried as if caught in a downpour, struggling desperately, and was on the verge of being pulled to the lake's edge.

Then, a sharp shout came from behind: "Stop!"

The male lead flew over, pulling Su Qingmu into his arms. Su Ding, unable to dodge, spun around and was immediately kicked squarely in the chest by the male lead into the lake!

"Splash..."

Instantly, lake water splashed everywhere. Su Ding plunged into the lake, desperately flailing and shouting, "Help, help..."

She was soaked and struggling in the water, acting out the helplessness and despair of someone drowning...

The director nodded with satisfaction in front of the camera.

Su Ding's acting was excellent; even as a minor maidservant, she delved deeply into the character's inner world.

Just as he was about to call "Cut," he noticed the female lead in the shot, Su Qingmu, staring indifferently at the maidservant in the water, completely lacking the shock and disbelief the role demanded!

"Cut! Su Qingmu, what are you doing!" the director roared.

Su Ding was pulled out by the crew, wiping herself down.

Su Qingmu, looking remorseful, said to the director, "Sorry, Director, let's do another take. It's my fault."

Saying that, she walked up to the male lead. "I'm sorry, Hao Ge, I'll have to trouble you to act it again."

The male lead waved his hand. "It's fine, it's fine."

It was normal for scenes to not go well after several takes; he was long accustomed to it.

Su Qingmu then walked up to Su Ding. "Little sister, are you okay?"

Su Ding shook her head. "I'm fine."

She felt a little awkward, as it was her fault that Su Qingmu had made a fool of herself just now.

"That's good, that's good," Su Qingmu said with a kind smile.

"Action!" the director called out again.

Su Ding was once again kicked into the cold lake water, splashing everywhere...
