Lin Hai Ting Tao
Postscript
I decided long ago to end the story in this way at the Brazil World Cup. Although friends advised me at the time to continue writing, to have Zhou Yi go to Manchester City and help them become a new force in Europe, or to go to Manchester United and save the Red Devils from their misery. Some even suggested Arsenal, to break the Top Four jokes.
But I didn't change my mind.
I ended this story during the 2014 World Cup, even though the protagonists' careers were far from over. But I didn't plan to write about it.
Most of my previous novels went all the way to the players' retirement, but this time I didn't think it was necessary.
Based on this idea, I finally chose Real Madrid as Zhou Yi's destination.
This is because Real Madrid's success in recent years doesn't require me to write millions of words to describe it. Everyone already knows.
As for whether Zhou Yi will go to other teams after Real Madrid, or whether he will go to those teams mentioned above... that is the sequel that takes place in the world of the book, and I will no longer record it.
Looking back now, it seems that this book is my first book that only wrote about the protagonist on one team. From the 2009-2010 season to the 2013-2014 season, only five seasons of his career, is also the shortest of all the protagonists I have written.
But I wrote everything that needed to be written, so there was no need to force a sequel.
The story is complete, and the emotions have been expressed.
In the end, leaving some space for everyone to imagine for themselves, isn't that wonderful?

Speaking of the protagonist, Zhou Yi's personality is one that I like very much. Although I don't have this personality, I have always envied people with this personality. He clearly knows what he wants and how to do it, but he doesn't put too much pressure on himself. He works hard when he needs to, relaxes when he needs to, jokes around, is sarcastic, but also knows his limits... In general, he is a likeable "bastard."
But honestly, it's quite painful for me to write about this kind of person. This may also be one of the reasons why I didn't write this book very quickly.
Because I am not this kind of person myself, so when I write about this kind of person, I always spend a lot of time thinking about what this kind of person should do when he encounters something, what he should say, what he should do, what he should think...
Since it's not my personality, why write about such a person? On the one hand, I naturally wanted to write about a different kind of protagonist, and on the other hand, it was because I saw Hu Die Lan acting like a "bastard" in the group all day long, and I planned to pay tribute to him.
Both Mao Ni and I envy Hu Die's "bastardliness", but we are both upright people, so writing such a character is a challenge for me. Every time I have to switch my brain, it feels quite "split personality".
So if I have any dissatisfaction with this book, it must be that I still haven't written one-tenth of the style of the great Hu Die Lan in my mind...

As for the new book, I haven't decided what to write yet, whether it's professional soccer or campus soccer, or something else... I just finished writing a book, and my brain hasn't recovered from the story of Zhou Yi and the others, so I want to take a rest first. I will slowly think about what to write while resting.
So I'm sorry that I can't tell you the name of the next book and when it will be released.
Thank you all for your company and support over the past two years!
Let's meet again someday in the future!
That day shouldn't be too long to wait...
