During my Condensation stage, I reached the peak overnight due to a hidden power within my body.
Now that my cultivation has reached Foundation Establishment, if that power still has any residual strength, could it be possible to reach the Great Perfection of Foundation Establishment overnight? He then sat cross-legged, using his divine sense to perceive the ebb and flow of the soul sea. To his surprise, the vast ocean, like surging waves, had vanished! In its place was an ocean of white light energy, similar to the starlight he had seen during his Foundation Establishment, with the same rise and fall, the same surging and pounding.
He swallowed a Foundation Establishment stage pill, prepared beforehand to enhance spiritual energy, and then used the power of the Earth Arrow to guide the light energy vortex in the soul sea. As the vortex circulated, a surge of spiritual energy erupted like a dragon emerging from the sea, flowing through his meridians and channels, filling his previously parched body with a surge of power. Simultaneously, his muscles, bones, and sinews creaked and groaned, as if his body were being filled with something solid.
Subsequently, the original essence and spiritual energy in his body flowed back along his meridians and channels, returning to the soul sea to impact the vortex's center. However, the spiritual energy within the vortex's center resisted its entry, preventing a breakthrough!
Yet, he clearly felt that during his Foundation Establishment, he had absorbed more than enough spiritual energy to break through to the next level. It must be insufficient cultivation. Thus, he once again absorbed spiritual energy from the soul sea based on the Earth Arrow, circulated it throughout his body, guided the life essence to flow back, and impacted the vortex's center. Once, twice, thrice... until the forty-ninth time, the spiritual energy flow at the vortex's center suddenly exploded. New spiritual energy integrated, forming a larger vortex that circulated majestically like stars.
Mo Qi knew that his cultivation had broken through to the middle stage of Foundation Establishment!
Although he was full of energy and strength at this moment, he understood that the power of the soul sea had been exhausted. If he wanted to break through again, he would have to do so slowly.
He then held the Body Tempering Talisman in his palm and began cultivating the Divine Sense Vajra Art. With the assistance of the spiritual talisman's power and his own increased cultivation, he quickly advanced the Divine Sense Vajra Art to the fifth level. The next day, Mo Qi wrapped the Body Protection Spiritual Talisman around himself, from bottom to top, layer upon layer, until he was completely covered. He also packed all the pills he had refined, taking several he could carry. Then, he set off with resolute determination.
While flying through the air, his storage bag suddenly stirred. He then remembered that there was a spirit within his storage bag. He had captured it but hadn't used it. Should he release it? Otherwise, keeping it in the storage bag would surely suffocate it to death.
So, he took the Asura spirit out of the storage bag and held it in his hand. Upon closer inspection, this little fellow not only had eyes but also a nose, mouth, and ears. Its eyes blinked, and it looked quite cute!
He recalled that other spirits were bare all over, with nothing. This spirit was so unique; had it become sentient?
At this moment, the spirit blinked its eyes and mumbled something in a garbled voice. Mo Qi suddenly felt as if he understood. It seemed to be saying: "Let me go, I won't run away. I just want to fly on my own for a while."
Mo Qi then released his hand. The spirit indeed floated up into the air, its belly rumbling like wings flapping within its body. Then, with that rumbling sound, it shot forward at a speed not much slower than Mo Qi's full speed. If Mo Qi hadn't caught up to it in the end, he would have truly believed it intended to escape.
After flying for several hours, they finally reached the territory of the Divine Pill Sect. A chill permeated the air, and Mo Qi couldn't help but shiver. He had no choice but to use his spiritual energy to resist, driving the chill out of his body.
Seeing that they were nearing the Divine Pill Sect, Mo Qi feared the spirit might escape and put it back into his storage bag. Mo Qi found the little fellow quite amusing; it would keep him from feeling lonely when he was alone.
The spirit chattered noisily, as if complaining or scolding. Mo Qi ignored it and continued to speed towards Nine Yin Mountain.
Suddenly, a beam of divine light struck, and caught off guard, Mo Qi was forced to fall from the clouds.
Mo Qi landed in a valley. He had used his movement techniques as he fell, so he was unharmed.
When he regained his footing and looked up, he saw two people blocking his path.
One was a middle-aged man, dressed in fine clothes and a fur coat, looking like a merchant.
The other was a young man, appearing to be around twenty years old.
Both of them had eyes blazing with fire and faces full of murderous intent.
"Are you Mo Qi?" the middle-aged man asked aggressively. The fire in his eyes seemed to wish to burn Mo Qi to ashes.
It was clear they were after him, but some things were unavoidable.
Weren't there only two people? He had dealt with over twenty people before.
However, this middle-aged man was much stronger than the enemies in Asura Mountain; he was likely at the Core Formation stage.
Even if he couldn't win, he wouldn't lose in spirit. Mo Qi straightened his back and said, "I am Mo Qi. Who are you, and who forced me down? Do you dare to admit it?"
"I forced you down," the middle-aged man said fiercely. "We are from the Hua family, a cultivation family of the Divine Pill Sect. My name is Hua Zhi, and this is my son, Hua Rui. I have another son named Hua Ci. Do you know why I'm looking for you?"
So, they had come for revenge for Hua Ci.
"Your son's death was an accident, and also inevitable," Mo Qi said without backing down. "In that situation, if I hadn't killed him, he would have killed me."
"Quibbling is useless. Now my son is dead, yet you are still alive and well. That is the fact," Hua Zhi roared, spitting saliva onto Mo Qi's face.
"Yes, blood debt must be paid with blood!" Hua Rui added.
Mo Qi snorted, "I am not quibbling, nor do I need to. I am not afraid of bearing your blood debt; I am only afraid of incurring new debts before the old ones are settled."
Hua Zhi glanced at him coldly, "You have quite a bit of nerve. Do you have the strength for that? With your Foundation Establishment cultivation?"
"I previously killed over twenty Foundation Establishment cultivators who were stronger than me. If you don't believe me, I don't mind killing another Core Formation cultivator," Mo Qi said calmly.
"Too arrogant, you little brat. Today, I will make you die here." Hua Zhi was furious. He formed a hand seal, and a dark ripple surged outwards, gradually revealing patterns within the ripple.
As the patterns rotated, densely packed petals of red, orange, yellow, green, and blue spun towards Mo Qi.
As the petals rotated, spiritual energy diffused outwards infinitely.
For a moment, five-colored lights alternated and flashed in the air, dazzling the eyes.
However, the splendor conveyed no beauty, only an increasing sense of pressure and killing intent.
The petals flew horizontally, spun, or danced gracefully, weaving through the air not in disarray, but in an orderly fashion, like a sky-covering array of flying knives, exploding and howling as they struck Mo Qi.
Concurrently, Hua Rui flew to another direction, attempting to form a pincer attack with his father and launching an assault on Mo Qi.
Mo Qi hastily swallowed a few emergency pills. The spiritual energy within his body surged violently, like an underground mountain flood erupting, instantly filling the entire cave and crashing outwards in search of an exit.
"Ten thousand arrows fired!" The Earth Arrow shot out like a dragon, splitting into countless arrow lights before him, arranged neatly.
Mo Qi pointed his hand, and the myriad arrow lights surged outwards, clashing with the petals. A continuous sound of crackling explosions ensued.
Some petals were shattered, their fragments falling and disappearing.
Some petals had a corner knocked off, but the remaining parts continued to whistle towards Mo Qi.
Mo Qi pointed his hand, and the back row of arrow lights shot out in unison, meeting the remaining petals.
Just as the back row of arrow lights collided with the remaining petals, the spiritual energy released from the impact between the arrow lights and petals violently churned in space.
Mo Qi's entire body seemed to withstand the impact of a giant wave, being violently lifted and thrown several feet away, landing on the ground.
His backside felt as if it were about to split in two.
Hua Zhi merely swayed slightly before steadying himself.
Seeing Mo Qi fall, he knew he had gained the initiative. Without delay, he leaped forward, forming another hand seal, and conjured spiritual energy flowers once more, striking at Mo Qi.
At this moment, Hua Rui also steadied himself behind Mo Qi. Forming a hand seal, he directly unleashed a flying sword, which instantly split into countless flying needles and struck at Mo Qi.
Mo Qi formed a hand seal, facing Hua Rui, and while speeding forward, he unleashed the Myriad Blades of the Mo Knife. Upon contact, the flying needles were struck down, and the remaining power of the Mo Knife knocked Hua Rui to the ground.
Hua Rui fell to the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood. Mo Qi leaped directly over Hua Rui's head.
Meanwhile, some of Hua Zhi's attacks were directed towards Hua Rui.
Hua Zhi was greatly alarmed and shouted, "Quick, my son, dodge!"
He hastily retracted his technique and rushed towards Hua Rui at extreme speed.
Hua Rui, lying on the ground with the densely packed petals twisting and moving towards him, was already stunned with fear. How could he possibly dodge?
At this moment, Mo Qi suddenly turned around. The effects of the emergency pills within his body had been pushed to their limit. He immediately formed a hand seal, and the ten thousand arrow lights merged into one, extending endlessly, striking at Hua Zhi. Along the way, they shattered the petals, reducing them to powder and causing them to dissipate. The arrow lights also gradually became incomplete.
Hua Zhi's body continued to surge forward, his momentum undiminished. He saw the residual arrow light striking towards himself.
At the same time, he also saw Mo Qi completely scattering the spiritual energy of the petals that were striking towards Hua Rui. With Hua Rui's safety assured, a relieved smile appeared on his face.
In the next moment, amidst a booming sound, Hua Zhi's body was suddenly lifted by a surge of light energy.
As the light energy dissipated, Hua Zhi's body was violently propelled forward in a terrifying straight line, finally crashing dozens of feet away with a loud thud.
"Father!" Hua Rui cried out hoarsely, rushing over and collapsing before Hua Zhi, weeping heartbrokenly.
Hua Zhi's chest was smashed, stained red, and he continued to spit blood from his mouth, his body twitching. Yet, a smile remained on his face: "You... you... are alright... that's good."
Mo Qi slowly walked over, looking at Hua Zhi, who was like a puddle of mud on the ground. "Didn't I tell you that if old debts are not settled, new ones might be incurred?"
"I'll kill you!" Hua Rui's eyes were bloodshot with rage. He turned to pounce on Mo Qi.
Suddenly, something firmly tripped his leg.
He looked down and saw Hua Zhi's hand tightly gripping his leg.
Hua Zhi no longer had the strength to speak. He shook his head repeatedly, tears welling up in his eyes.
He wanted to say, don't go to your death, you can't defeat him.
"Father!" Hua Rui's tears flowed like a spring. He collapsed to the ground again. "It's all my fault, I caused your death!"
Hua Zhi continued to shake his head, but he was unable to utter a word.
Mo Qi shook his head, "Alas, I am just too kind. I cannot bear to see separation and death that moves people to tears."
As he spoke, Mo Qi took out a healing pill and offered it to Hua Zhi. "This is a healing pill. Eat it, and you will recover."
Hua Zhi and Hua Rui both looked at Mo Qi in unison, their eyes filled with fear, doubt, and various other expressions.
"Father, you can't eat it. It must be poison," Hua Rui said.
Hua Zhi gave a bitter smile, thinking, even if I don't eat poison now, I probably won't survive.
Eating poison might even lead to a quicker death.
Hua Zhi tremblingly reached out, took the pill, and looked deeply at Mo Qi, as if to say, "After I die, please spare my son."
Then, to Hua Rui's astonishment, Hua Zhi tilted his head back and swallowed the pill.
Hua Zhi let out a long sigh, closed his eyes, and quietly awaited death.
It was at this moment that Mo Qi rode away on the clouds. If he didn't leave quickly, what if Hua Zhi became energetic again and tried to kill him?
He had heard the story of the farmer and the snake.
Hua Zhi waited, waiting for his own rapid breathing, then frantic kicking, and finally, his last breath.
However, after waiting for a long time, that moment never came.
He impatiently opened his eyes, "Can't you even die cleanly?"
Hua Rui, lying on the ground crying, had cried himself tired before slowly lifting his head.
The two of them were astonished to find that Hua Zhi's injuries were healing at a terrifying speed. His chest had a gaping hole, and his internal organs were damaged. Now, the hole in his chest had healed, and his skin was completely intact. Only the bright red bloodstains served as a reminder that he had been injured.
Hua Zhi tried to stand up and, to his surprise, stood up straight!
Both of them were startled.
Then, the two of them were stunned for a long, long time.
"You say, why did he save me?"
"He said he was very kind."
"Kind my foot! If he was kind, why did he kill your brother?"
"Even a rabbit will bite. Father, should we still continue to pursue and kill him?"
"Forget it, let's go back."
