Chapter 213 Let the Island Run

The black mist flowed wildly, forming a tornado shape in the air that swept towards Mo Qi.

Mo Qi patted his storage pouch, took out the pipa fan, and with a surge of spiritual energy, fanned it out. A fierce wind rose from nowhere.

The black tornado paused in mid-air, then reversed its direction, sweeping towards Zhou Qingyu.

As the black mist flowed back, its edges gradually dispersed, with faint black gas diffusing into the air.

The central part, however, remained condensed into a tornado, crashing towards Zhou Qingyu with overwhelming force.

Zhou Qingyu’s face turned ashen with shock. He bit his finger, sucked on it, and then spat forcefully at the banner.

A stream of blood-red light sprayed onto the banner.

The banner suddenly emitted a layer of red light. As it spun, a dense black mist surged out like a tidal wave, its aura becoming more majestic and its sweep more violent. With a rustling sound as it surged and grew, it struck the tornado, painting it with a layer of even more concentrated black, as if coloring it.

Simultaneously, it became thicker, like a celestial pillar connecting heaven and earth, stretching boundlessly.

After a brief pause, it changed direction once more, charging towards Mo Qi.

Its momentum was such that it seemed destined to instantly engulf Mo Qi’s insignificant body and then vanish into nothingness.

From a distance, the black mist had not yet arrived, but the oppressive feeling of Mount Tai bearing down had already descended.

Mo Qi felt his body creaking, as if about to be crushed.

“Qiankun Circle!”

The red light surged. The Qiankun Circle whistled and slammed into the black pillar, instantly severing it into two sections. As it returned, it sliced off another section, continuing to spin and shuttle back and forth.

The black mist, having lost its overall spiritual energy, was fanned by Mo Qi’s pipa fan once more. The black mist could no longer condense and instantly scattered in all directions. A part of it, however, remained and turned towards Zhou Qingyu.

Zhou Qingyu attempted to repeat his previous action, biting his finger again.

Mo Qi silently unleashed several streams of arrow energy towards him. With a few thuds, Zhou Qingyu dodged some, but a few still pierced through his body.

Zhou Qingyu’s spiritual energy suddenly dispersed. The mass of black mist also struck him violently, flattening his entire body before it returned to its original shape. Like a withered leaf in the wind, he drifted down from the sky.

His body was devoid of life.

Mo Qi flew over, snatched the banner from his hand, and let his body fall to the ground.

He walked to Yu Sheng’s side and tried to turn the banner, hoping to wake her. To his surprise, Yu Sheng slowly opened her eyes on her own.

She gazed at Mo Qi faintly and asked, “What happened to me?”

Mo Qi helped her up and smiled, “Nothing, you just took a nap.”

At this moment, two more figures flew over, blocking their path, intending to avenge Zhou Qingyu.

These two were Shen Wushuang’s other two lackeys, Wang Daoxuan and Peng Hechang.

They were furious. Mo Qi had killed Zhou Qingyu just like that. If they didn’t retaliate, how could the Tiantong Sect survive?

Just as the two were preparing to form hand seals and unleash their divine abilities against Mo Qi and Yu Sheng.

A voice echoed in their ears, “Let him come up. I want to see what they want from me.”

It was Shen Wushuang’s voice.

“But he killed Hall Master Zhou,” Wang Daoxuan transmitted back, unconvinced.

“I will judge this matter. You let him come up first,” Shen Wushuang said with a hint of annoyance.

Despite their dissatisfaction, the two dared not hesitate. They immediately stepped aside, allowing Mo Qi and Yu Sheng to pass.

On the mountaintop stood a pavilion, where Shen Wushuang sat, leisurely sipping tea.

Mo Qi, pulling Yu Sheng along, sat down opposite Shen Wushuang without a word.

Shen Wushuang raised an eyebrow, looking somewhat surprised. “Are you the one causing trouble below?”

Mo Qi did not deny it, nodding. “It was me.” He then asked with equal surprise, “The battle up here is so fierce, and you still have the heart to drink tea?”

Shen Wushuang immediately adopted a solemn expression. “Alas, I am finding joy amidst hardship. I am under great pressure. Look, the barrier above is indestructible and cannot be breached, and behind us, Shen Gui Island is watching, ready to swallow this island at any moment. Then, we will either abandon the island and flee with nowhere to go, or perish with the island. Both choices are difficult. My head is throbbing from thinking. I’m drinking tea to calm myself.”

“Wait a moment,” Shen Wushuang suddenly glared at Mo Qi, killing intent flickering in his eyes. “Who are you? What right do you have to condemn me?”

Mo Qi shook his head. “I am not condemning you, I am merely stating facts.”

“Then tell me, why do you not obey orders, not follow command, and not accept integration?” Shen Wushuang said coldly.

A chilling killing aura and an imposing presence quietly enveloped Mo Qi and Yu Sheng.

Mo Qi smiled indifferently. “Because I have the strength.”

Shen Wushuang paused. This child exuded an aura that was inconsistent with his age.

“You were the one fighting Linghu Xiaoxian to a draw yesterday, weren’t you?” Shen Wushuang suddenly asked.

Mo Qi was taken aback, then realized he was referring to the girl in yellow. He nodded. “It was me!”

Shen Wushuang scrutinized Mo Qi again, his eyes filled with disbelief. “It’s truly miraculous. A cultivator at the early stage of Tribulation Passing can fight someone at the first level of Heavenly Immortal almost to a standstill. If you hadn’t used the Qiankun Circle again just now, I would never have connected the person from yesterday with you.”

“So you didn’t let those two below attack me?” Mo Qi pressed, ignoring whether the other party was flattering or surprised.

“Yes, am I very sensible?” Shen Wushuang smiled unexpectedly.

“Then, if I wanted to take your position as Sect Master of Tiantong Sect, would you also be sensible?” Mo Qi asked with a smile.

This statement stunned not only Shen Wushuang but also Yu Sheng.

You are too arrogant!

Shen Wushuang’s face turned green and then pale. He was momentarily stunned, unsure how to respond.

Mo Qi chuckled again. “Don’t be scared. I have no interest in your Sect Master position. I came to find you with only one purpose: to help everyone escape this predicament.”

Shen Wushuang smiled wryly. “How could I be scared? Do you think being this Sect Master is enjoyable? I’m exhausted every day, yet I can’t change the situation. If you’re willing, I can give it to you immediately.”

Mo Qi waved his hand. “Forget it, let’s talk about business. I have a way to help everyone out of this predicament, but I need the cooperation of everyone and every beast on the island.”

Shen Wushuang looked skeptical. “What way do you have?”

“Let this island run like Shen Gui Island, and run even faster than Shen Gui Island,” Mo Qi said.

This was an idea that ignited the blood!

If it could truly be realized, it would be a mad act!

Many would worship him for it!

But it was just a thought, so let it be!

Shen Wushuang stared at Mo Qi for several breaths, then finally couldn’t help but laugh. “Are you joking? Let Jingxing Island run? Why don’t you let it fly?”

Yu Sheng also found his idea too absurd and couldn’t help but shake her head repeatedly.

Mo Qi said with a serious expression, “I’m not joking. In a life-or-death situation, do I have the mood for jokes?”

Seeing that he was serious, but perhaps a bit naive, Shen Wushuang’s smile faded. “Tell me, how do you plan to make it run?”

“First, we’ll shave off its lower half, separating it from the seabed, and then use the strength of all humans and demonic beasts to make it float forward,” Mo Qi said.

Shen Wushuang pondered for a moment and said, “The second step is achievable. I think if it truly floats, it can drift away without the effort of everyone and every beast on the island. But the difficulty lies in the first step. How can such a large island have its roots severed? Who possesses such great magical power?”

Yu Sheng also stared blankly at Mo Qi, anticipating his answer.

To her surprise, Mo Qi said, “I will handle the first step, you don’t need to worry about it. You just need to organize people and beasts and prepare for the second step. Otherwise, once its bottom is severed, it will sink into the sea.”

Shen Wushuang still found what he was saying too absurd. Following him completely would be like asking everyone to go mad with him.

Even if he were willing, his subordinates below would not be.

“This…” Shen Wushuang showed a look of difficulty.

Mo Qi sighed, saying with a hint of disappointment, “Why can’t you understand? The situation is urgent now. Seeking a way out through the Southern Continent’s barrier is simply too late. The only way is to have everyone retreat and try to move Jingxing Island. Even if we fail to move it, when we see Shen Gui Island approaching from afar, we can evacuate in time. But if we succeed, we can roam freely in the Southern Sea of Hong Meng, and preserve a piece of land in the Southern Sea of Hong Meng that is free from the invasion of turtle demons, becoming a resting place for countless cultivators. That would be a merit for all generations!”

Shen Wushuang was somewhat moved but still hesitant.

Mo Qi looked around. “Who is that Linghu Xiaoxian to you? Where is she now?”

“Uh,” Shen Wushuang said casually, “She is the daughter of Linghu Zhong, the sect master of the Sun Moon Sect on Pengqu Island. As the largest sect in the Southern Sea of Hong Meng, the Sun Moon Sect cannot stand idly by while Shen Gui Island ravages. Therefore, they sent their princess to assist us. They lack the ability to stop Shen Gui Island’s rampage, but they can help us impact the barrier, showing their greatest support.”

“Then… then where is she now?” Mo Qi stood up, saying with some nervousness.

“She’s gone back. She was injured, so she had to go back to recuperate,” Shen Wushuang said nonchalantly.

Mo Qi let out a sigh of relief and turned. “I’ll go do the first step now. If I succeed in shaving off the lower half of the island later, and you haven’t organized the people, causing the island to sink, then I can’t be bothered.”

After speaking, he turned and walked towards another pavilion. Yu Sheng followed closely behind him, asking, “Can we succeed?”

Mo Qi didn’t look back. “We’ll only know if we try, but if we don’t try, we’ll never succeed.”

He suddenly turned back. “Your method of killing is so vicious.”

Yu Sheng met his gaze. “But besides this method, I have no other means.”

Mo Qi smiled slightly. “I didn’t say it was bad. Killing is killing. No matter how gentle the method, it still takes a life. What’s the difference?”

After pondering for a while, Shen Wushuang made a decision and ordered Wang Daoxuan and Peng Hechang to organize the personnel and prepare.
