Shui Han disliked pointless talk, but at this moment, she inexplicably began to argue with Shi Siyao. "He is also someone I intend to kill in the future. Who he is with has nothing to do with me."
Shi Siyao was surprisingly annoyed. "I originally didn't want to bother with you, but if you want to kill Brother Mo, I'll kill you first."
Shui Han's eyes glinted with coldness, and her spiritual energy pressure silently permeated the surroundings.
Shi Siyao, however, showed no weakness. The Asura Cudgel floated in her palm, humming.
A great battle was imminent.
Mo Qi looked at Shi Siyao in a panic. "Don't listen to her nonsense. She's saying one thing and meaning another; she won't attack me."
He then turned to Shui Han and said, "She is not an irredeemable villain. Although she has made mistakes, she is not beyond saving. Once I go to the Underworld, I will find a way to help her change her ways and start anew."
Though anxious, he felt a strange sense of joy in his heart at this moment.
Shui Han said coldly, "Self-righteous!"
As she spoke, she formed a hand seal, and a spherical phantom rapidly expanded, spinning and unleashing thousands of ice swords.
The myriad ice swords shot out like raindrops, densely covering all directions.
Even the spot where Mo Qi stood was not spared; the countless ice swords swept towards him.
Mo Qi hastily activated his Golden Light Shrinking Ground Technique and fled into the distance.
Shi Siyao, unhurried, raised her hand. The Asura Cudgel flew out, spinning at high speed. The ring at its tip bore numerous small spheres, and as it rotated, it conjured streams of blood-red light. These blood-red lights connected, forming a blood curtain that obscured the sky, interspersed with dense black mist, and struck towards Shui Han.
As the blood curtain swept forward, it emitted a continuous humming sound, like endless power compressing the air, and the air's reluctant response.
The next moment, streaks of light swords pierced into the blood curtain, vanishing as if a clay ox entering the sea. A creaking sound, like an animal gnawing on bones, could be heard as the ice swords were completely annihilated.
The blood curtain continued to surge forward, with ice swords relentlessly piercing into it. Black mist churned within the blood curtain, shredding the ice swords into white mist, which was then instantly swallowed by the black mist.
The spinning ice sphere let out a desperate roar, shaking violently, almost falling.
As the ice swords flowed out, the sphere gradually disintegrated, becoming thinner and then transparent.
Shui Han desperately formed hand seals and urged her spiritual power, but she could not change the tide.
A tremendous backlash struck her. Blood trickled from the corner of Shui Han's mouth, and her body staggered backward, nearly collapsing to the ground.
The blood curtain, like a rolling thunder pushed with full force, skimmed the ground and rolled towards Shui Han.
In front of this massive rolling thunder, Shui Han's body appeared so small and fragile, like a blade of grass swaying in the wind. Though stubborn, she could not escape her fate.
Mo Qi, unable to bear it, warned Shi Siyao, "Little sister, if you hurt her, your brother will disown you!"
At this moment, a loud bang echoed from the dense forest in the distance. A beam of red light suddenly spread out, its radiance blinding, forcing people to instinctively lower their heads or turn away.
Murmurs arose from near and far: "The Demon King is born! The Demon King is born!"
Many figures rushed towards the source of the light.
Shi Siyao retracted the Asura Cudgel and glanced at Shui Han. "I'm done playing with you. I'm going to witness the Demon King's birth."
With that, she left Mo Qi and Shui Han behind and sped away into the distance.
Mo Qi didn't know what she was going to do, but he sensed that Shi Siyao's appearance today must have a special purpose.
What could that purpose be?
Could it be to pledge allegiance to the Demon King?
He wanted to follow her and see for himself, but he couldn't bear to abandon Shui Han.
She was injured now. If any malicious person took advantage of the situation to harm her, she would likely be helpless.
"Little sister, don't do anything foolish," Mo Qi called out, watching Shi Siyao's retreating back.
Shi Siyao turned back, gave him a sweet smile, and then turned away resolutely.
It seemed to have no effect.
With the external force suddenly gone, Shui Han's body relaxed, and she fell to the ground, unable to get up.
Mo Qi hurried over to help her, but she waved him away. "Stop your pretense. You're in league with her."
Mo Qi frowned and said, "How could I be in league with her? If I were, I wouldn't have stopped her from killing you."
"Then why is she so good to you?" Shui Han asked aggressively.
After asking the question, she herself found it unbelievable.
What's happening to me?
Why am I asking such a bizarre question?
"I don't know why either. Perhaps it's a bond from someone else," Mo Qi said faintly.
She had Yao Shuang's remnant soul within her. Could it be that remnant soul dictating some of her emotions?
Shui Han listened, utterly bewildered.
Mo Qi wanted to quickly move past this topic, preferably all topics.
He took out a healing pill and offered it to Shui Han. "Take this. It's instantly effective."
Shui Han knew his pills were effective, but for some reason, she felt an inexplicable displeasure. Thus, she looked at the pill but didn't reach for it.
Mo Qi urged, "Aren't you here for the Demon King's birth? If you delay any longer, you might miss it."
It worked!
Shui Han glared at Mo Qi, took the pill, and swallowed it.
A moment later, she stood up and, together with Mo Qi, headed towards the direction of the light.
The light gradually dimmed. Following the crowd, the two arrived at a place shrouded in black mist and filled with a chilling aura.
Looking up, two small red dots, enveloped in a mass of black mist, floated and drifted in the air, emitting eerie cackling laughter. These two red dots seemed to be its eyes, and its body appeared to have nothing else.
People on the ground, kneeling in rows, bowed towards the sky: "Welcome, Demon King! Please lead us to roam, lead us to fly!"
The Demon King's two eyeballs swiveled, and a childish voice spoke: "Everyone, rise. As long as you follow me wholeheartedly and serve me diligently, I will definitely lead everyone out of the Demon Realm, ascend to the heavens, and do as we please."
Although the words were grand, its voice was like that of a three-year-old child, coquettish and exceptionally milky, as if it had just finished drinking milk and was about to burp.
The people stood up, looking at each other in bewilderment. "This is the Demon King?"
"How can the Demon King be a child?"
"Have we been tricked?"
Hearing these discussions, the Demon King seemed very angry. It spun rapidly above the people's heads and roared, "All of you, shut up! When I emerged, I only slightly injured my essence to break through the restraints of heaven and earth, affecting my physique and voice. But this does not affect my powerful aura in the slightest. If you dare to speak nonsense and gossip again, I, I will eat you all one by one."
Such words should have been terrifying, but the tone and inflection made it impossible to feel fear. Instead, it felt like a child trying to scare someone. Some people couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"Who is it? Who is laughing?" The Demon King, enraged, roared and spun above the people's heads.
Silence fell below, and everyone held back their laughter.
