Xu Zimo raised his head and looked at the Guardian Formation of the Immortal Extinction Sacred Ground. Although he did not recognize this formation, judging by its scale and power, it was likely on the same level as the Celestial Star Formation.
“How about I take a turn?” At this moment, a voice rang out from deep within the void.
The sound exploded in everyone’s hearts. When the crowd looked up, they saw the God Emperor stepping out from the distant void.
Beneath his feet, countless golden steps appeared. With each step he took, a new stair formed in the void.
The steps shone with golden light. He wore a long red robe, as bright as if it had been dyed with fresh blood.
The emblem of the Divine Gate was clearly visible before everyone’s eyes.
His long hair flowed without wind, imperial might surged from his body, and within his eyes surged the majesty of countless divine powers.
“Greetings, God Emperor,” Feng Tianya greeted respectfully.
Whether in talent or strength, the God Emperor could be considered a senior. He was someone from a very ancient era.
“Sacred Lord Feng, let me test your Guardian Formation,” the God Emperor waved his hand, unwilling to waste words on courtesy.
“Does the God Emperor truly wish to stand as our enemy?” Feng Tianya asked.
“You know what I detest most?” the God Emperor replied calmly. “It is that self-righteous attitude, as though the world is yours to rule, when in truth you are nothing but ants.”
“If that is so, then by all means, God Emperor,” Feng Tianya answered coldly before his figure retreated back into the mountain’s protective light screen.
The God Emperor raised his hand, instantly gathering endless godpower. Space and time within his grasp completely froze.
With a single punch, the entire void trembled.
As though with one move, the gaze of the world itself converged here, shaking countless hearts.
When his fist landed, the sound of space shattering resounded, like a nuclear explosion, like a star breaking apart.
Even the immortal mountain quaked, the immortal mist dispersed, and the Guardian Formation before him shattered directly.
There was no surprise, his punch was utterly terrifying, enough to annihilate everything.
Yet at the moment the Guardian Formation shattered, as the God Emperor drew his fist back, a faint white light screen drifted over.
The light screen was silent, so subtle that not even the God Emperor noticed it.
Before he could react, the light screen suddenly transformed into a barrier. As it neared him, it enveloped him completely.
The light membrane was like a great net, instantly trapping the God Emperor within.
Seeing this, laughter rang out from within the immortal mountain.
A white-haired elder stepped out, walking across the sky with extraordinary bearing.
His hair, beard, and long robe were all snow-white.
Yet strapped to his back was a blood-colored long blade.
The blade was like a shattered shadow, its surface flowing with thick streams of blood light.
“That is…” someone looked at the elder who had suddenly appeared and, after a moment of shock, finally recognized him.
“It’s Celestial Heretic.”
“Yes, the former war general of the Ancient Emperor, Ancestor Celestial Heretic.”
The elder laughed loudly as he strode forward through the sky, his voice booming.
“Since you have come to my immortal mountain, you shall be welcomed.”
Vast power surged around him, his long white hair spread behind him, flowing without wind.
His aura gave off an extremely strange feeling, half immortal, half demon.
……
The God Emperor looked at the light membrane encasing him and raised his massive palm, striking at it directly.
But the light membrane seemed to absorb all of his strength, without the slightest reaction.
No matter how he attacked, it remained completely unscathed.
“Don’t waste your strength. You cannot break it,” Ancestor Celestial Heretic said. “This was formed by the Power of Order and Chaos.”
“Power of Order and Chaos?” someone nearby asked with confusion. “What is that?”
“Have you heard the ancient saying, when heaven and earth had just begun, the primal-chaos was like an egg? At that time, the newborn world was being nurtured. The chaos was boundless, with countless gods and demons inhabiting it. In order to protect that newborn world, chaos placed an order upon its surface, forming a light membrane to safeguard it,” Ancestor Celestial Heretic explained.
Hearing this, Xu Zimo chuckled. “No wonder your Immortal Extinction Sacred Ground is so bold. You had long been prepared.”
“In the past, when the Ancient Emperor searched across the future for the Dao, he once obtained this light membrane,” Ancestor Celestial Heretic said coldly. “Even he could not destroy it, and so he left it within the sect. Did you truly think our Immortal Extinction Sacred Ground had no trump cards?”
“And what are you trying to say?” Xu Zimo asked with a smile.
“Our Immortal Extinction Sacred Ground is not like the Baili Imperial Clan. Holy Son Xu, your journey has been far too smooth,” Ancestor Celestial Heretic replied indifferently. “So smooth that you seem to have forgotten your place.”
Before Xu Zimo could answer, a loud voice came from behind.
“Celestial Heretic, you are in no position to lecture the juniors of my True Martial Sacred Ground.”
The Heaven-Blade Ancestor walked slowly from the distance, carrying a great blade upon his back.
His body radiated wild blade intent as he faced off against Ancestor Celestial Heretic.
“Old fossil, after so many years, you’re still not dead?”
“Heaven-Blade, you’ve gone too far this time,” Ancestor Celestial Heretic narrowed his eyes and answered.
“Bring the others out as well. We are hardly old friends,” Ancestor Heaven-Blade Ancestor said bluntly with a wave of his hand.
“So, your True Martial Sacred Ground is truly set on war against us?” Ancestor Celestial Heretic asked.
The blood blade on his back trembled, as if endless blood energy were spreading outward.
“If anyone went too far, it was your Immortal Extinction Sacred Ground who started this,” Ancestor Heaven-Blade Ancestor replied. “Fight then. Do you think we would fear you?”
Ancestor Celestial Heretic snorted heavily, then turned his gaze toward the Dark Primordials.
“If you withdraw now, I promise that in the future of the Primordial Heartlands, there will be a place for you.”
“Much obliged for your generosity,” Death God Qin sneered. “But words from a lineage about to be destroyed are no different from farts.”
“Good… very good,” Ancestor Celestial Heretic laughed angrily.
The Immortal Extinction Sacred Ground had stood in this world for countless years, and none had dared speak to them like this.
Just as conflict was about to erupt, a vast pressure descended from above.
The chaotic scene was immediately suppressed.
Everyone looked upward, toward the summit of the immortal mountain.
At the source of the roaring waterfall, a man stood in the sky, gazing toward the northwest.
With a soft sigh, he said, “Let Sky Shroud come.”
This man looked young, perhaps only thirty years old. Of course, appearances meant little for cultivators.
He wore a white robe, with long brows and deep, calm eyes. His aura carried a tranquil acceptance.
It was as if he could dissolve everything.
Like snow in early spring meeting the blazing sun, melting instantly.
