“Two girls came to see you just now,” Su Yue said in the car.
“Mm, you saw them?” he asked, not surprised at all.
He was that calm?
Su Yue didn't really care about the girls who came to see him; she could even understand them.
He was so eye-catching, and she herself couldn't resist his charm. As a woman, she felt a kinship.
However, his attitude made her a little unhappy.
“I saw them. It doesn’t really concern me, so I won’t talk about it.” She leaned back against the passenger seat, picked up her phone, and searched for the restaurant they were going to, thinking about what to eat later.
As they coincidentally hit a red light, he stopped and watched her, her eyes lowered to her phone, acting as if nothing was wrong. He felt a bit speechless.
He reached out and ruffled her hair, saying,
“I wasn’t paying much attention when I was thinking about the route, but don’t worry, I refused them very thoroughly.”
She didn't reply, instead turning her attention to interacting with fans about the photos she had posted yesterday.
She genuinely didn't mind that much.
Seeing her silence, Chen Ziming didn't pursue the topic further. The light turned green, and the car continued its journey.
The restaurant was located by the river, and the window seats offered a beautiful view.
The restaurant initially didn't intend to offer brunch. However, many of the locals were freelancers who tended to wake up later and come in for meals. Later, due to their promotions, the restaurant surprisingly became known for its brunch.
So, they capitalized on the success and introduced a series of brunch set menus.
Chen Ziming had reserved a window seat in advance. The window faced west, a large floor-to-ceiling glass, which meant it wouldn't be directly hit by the sun in the morning and would offer sunset views in the evening. It was an excellent location.
On the Western-style dining table, adorned with a tablecloth, sat an exquisite vase holding two dew-kissed white roses.
Su Yue sat down on the side facing the window, drawn to the scenery outside. The river was considered a famous landmark in the capital. There were reeds along the riverbanks, swaying gently in the breeze, and many people came here specifically to take photos. She and Ji Chan had also visited, and the resulting pictures were excellent.
Those photos had been a huge hit, gaining her many followers.
Seeing her mesmerized by the view outside, Chen Ziming didn't disturb her. He sat down beside her and ordered two classic set menus from the waiter.
“Could you take a few more photos of me?” she suddenly felt inspired and handed him her phone.
“You’re talking to me now?” he raised an eyebrow and took the phone.
Su Yue hadn't expected him to still remember what had happened earlier; she had almost forgotten.
But since he asked, after a moment’s hesitation, she still replied:
“Officer Chen, I’m mentally prepared for you to be popular with girls. It’s okay.”
Chen Ziming: ...
Forget it, this conversation was destined to be on different wavelengths. Seeing that she had no further interest in delving deeper, he picked up his phone and started taking her pictures.
She was beautiful, and looked good no matter how she was photographed.
Su Yue took the phone back, looked at the finished photos, and was reasonably satisfied. She then used a photo editing app to refine them.
“Look, would this filter be better?” she held the phone out for him to see.
“I can’t tell the difference.”
“...”
In the end, she relied on her own aesthetic sense and edited a few photos. The food arrived, and she took a few more pictures of the attractive dishes, planning to post them together as a record.
Chen Ziming watched her open her account. Upon entering, she saw that all her notifications were marked with “99+”.
She dismissed them with satisfaction, and new notifications quickly appeared, all attracted by her photos from last night. Her fans called her “wife” and “fairy,” and she looked very happy.
She tapped on these photos again, preparing to post them, as she had stopped updating for several days and wanted to post more while she had new material.
However, when it came to writing the caption, she hesitated.
Chen Ziming was also looking at her screen, waiting to see what caption she would write.
This was a good opportunity to please him.
A thought crossed her mind, and she typed a few words:
Boyfriend’s perspective
As expected, the man beside her smiled and moved closer, asking softly, “Did you agree to be my girlfriend?”
“No,” she replied, a little coyly.
Her meaning was rather assertive: you are my boyfriend, but whether I am your girlfriend is still something I need to consider.
She was being so unreasonable.
But men liked this sort of behavior. Sometimes, being a little feisty made them like you even more.
Especially a beautiful girl like her.
As she expected, Chen Ziming didn't get angry. Instead, he gently kissed her forehead and replied with a smile,
“Okay.”
