The afternoon tea, which yielded no gains other than fostering friendships, came to an end.
After bidding them farewell, Su Yue glanced at her phone. Chen Ziming’s avatar remained quiet, devoid of any messages.
She was genuinely annoyed.
If he didn’t want to contact her, he could have just said so. This cold shoulder treatment was both impolite and immature.
She vowed not to initiate contact with him either.
Walking down the road with a heavy heart, she suddenly remembered something. She opened her contacts and found a consultant from a dance studio.
“Do you have a class later?” she texted.
A quick reply came back: “Yes, my little fairy! I’ll send you the schedule. Come play with us!”
She checked the schedule, hailed a taxi, and headed over.
She had some dance training, not masterful, but she had a foundation.
In college, to enrich her life, she had enrolled in an adult dance class near campus, mainly learning jazz and K-pop dance, with occasional hip-hop.
With so much going on lately, she hadn’t been in a long time.
The dance studio was located in a mall. She casually walked into a store, bought a set of sweet and cool casual wear suitable for dancing, and a pair of matching sneakers, then headed straight to the dance studio.
The dance teacher seemed surprised and a bit taken aback by her arrival: “You still remember us?”
Su Yue: …
The class was jazz, matching her outfit perfectly – both sweet and cool.
She picked up the choreography quickly, remembering the moves after a couple of repetitions. With a few more practices, she could imbue the movements with the intended feel.
Su Yue possessed a strong sense of focus. As she broke a light sweat, her mind was engrossed in the dance, all other worries cast aside. She felt considerably refreshed.
Forget Officer Chen; he could wait.
In this world, her own happiness was paramount.
The last ten minutes of the class were dedicated to video recording.
After everyone recorded twice as a group, Su Yue found the teacher and asked if she could record a solo take with her.
The teacher readily agreed.
They smoothly recorded twice. She compared the takes and kept the one that felt better.
The filming consultant, knowing she was an influencer, even arranged for someone to take a few extra photos for her.
Afterward, she showered, changed back into her own clothes, and sat down in the lobby.
She posted to her accounts, including her Moments.
On her social media, she first posted the photos. Truth be told, these pictures were taken beautifully. Her long hair appeared dynamic, and the curves and arcs of her body were alluring, sure to satisfy her fans who were eagerly awaiting updates.
For her Moments… after some thought, she decided to post the video directly. It was only two minutes long, not so long as to be boring.
By the time she finished, it was nearly seven o’clock. The consultant came over and asked if she wanted to go out with them.
It turned out to be Friday, and the boss was taking everyone out for a gathering.
Since she was free anyway… Su Yue glanced at the silent avatar of Officer Chen and agreed.
A few other students from the class also joined them.
It was a bar that also served food. The group found seats, ordered a table full of dishes, and ate while listening to the live singer.
Su Yue didn’t have much of an appetite and ate a few mouthfuls quickly. Most of her time was spent chatting with everyone.
They continued to hang out until nine o’clock. The dishes had long been cleared, and plenty of drinks had been served. The bar’s atmosphere had picked up. A group of glamorous young women drinking and chatting drew considerable attention.
Su Yue didn’t drink much; she particularly favored the Flaming B52, finding other drinks rather ordinary.
“So many beauties…” suddenly, a group of men approached their table, exclaiming.
She was sitting in a more interior seat, so these men didn’t come too close to her, but their sweeping glances were quite annoying.
“Thank you for the compliment,” the boss replied politely and calmly.
“Would you mind if we joined you at your table?” Clearly having had a few drinks, they now intended to squeeze the girls sitting on the outer edges to make room for themselves.
“We do mind. If you persist, we’ll call the police,” a dance teacher replied coldly.
Hearing this, the men exchanged glances. Given that the girls outnumbered them, they decided it wasn’t worth the trouble. They muttered some vulgar curses and left.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
“Don’t be afraid. These hooligans are all cowards. Let’s just enjoy ourselves,” the boss reassured the students.
Su Yue agreed.
