Chapter 835: Chapter 835: [Extra] I Don’t Want to Let You Go
The first year of college ended quickly.
Everyone finished their exams and gradually went home.
Sheng Ning’an also started to pack up her things: “I can’t continue living here during the summer break, I have to go back home. But don’t worry, I’ll come to visit you often.”
“I don’t want to let you go, what should I do?” Xu Weiran hugged her from behind, wrapping Sheng Ning’an in his arms, and the scent of the young girl filled his senses, making him reluctant to part.
Sheng Ning’an turned around in his embrace, putting her arms around his waist, and said, “It’s not like we won’t see each other again. We’re both in Jing City, so if you miss me, you can visit me anytime. My grandmother has been wanting you to come over for a meal for a long time. Besides, we can meet up for dates on weekends.”
Xu Weiran: “That’s not the same.”
Sheng Ning’an: “How is it not the same?”
Xu Weiran glanced at her and said, “When can this place become your home?” He wanted to hear her voice every morning when he woke up, to see her right after work, to take walks with her after meals. He wanted everything about her, wanted her to always be within reach.
“Are you proposing to me?” Sheng Ning’an raised an eyebrow, looking at him.
Xu Weiran smiled and said, “How could I propose so hastily? I just wanted to tell you I don’t want to be apart from you.”
“You’re talking like we’re breaking up. Alright, I get it. At worst, I’ll just visit you more often when I have nothing to do.” Sheng Ning’an couldn’t help but laugh and cry. How come she never realized he was this clingy?
“Is that a promise?” Xu Weiran finally smiled with satisfaction, placing a big hand on her head, and said, “Are you packed? I’ll take you home.”
Sheng Ning’an didn’t really have much to pack, since she’d be back for the new school year, so she simply packed a few clothes and said, “While I’m not around, remember to come home early and don’t stay up late, or you’ll start balding.” She worried that if she wasn’t watching him, he’d end up like her Young Uncle, staying in the laboratory all the time.
“Got it!” he said, taking the suitcase from her hand, “Let’s go!”
Xu Weiran took her home, had a meal with Sheng Family, and then returned to his own home afterwards.
As soon as Mother Xu saw her son, she said, “Why did you come back alone, where’s An’an?”
Xu Weiran: “She’s gone home. I came to see you and Dad.”
Mother Xu’s initial look of anticipation immediately turned to disdain, as she said, “I have your dad, and he has me, we’re doing great, don’t worry about us. If you have time, spend it with An’an, strive to marry her soon.”
“Next time if you come back alone, don’t bother coming at all.” With that, she directly kicked her son out.
Seeing just him was more annoying than not seeing him at all.
Xu Weiran: …
This home is increasingly becoming unwelcoming to him.
That evening, Xu Weiran told Sheng Ning’an about this, and upon hearing it, Sheng Ning’an couldn’t help but laugh: “Then I’ll go visit Auntie in a couple of days.”
“My mom wishes you would go tomorrow.”
Sheng Ning’an: “I can’t go tomorrow; I’m going camping with Tang Dou. It will take about two days, and I’ll be back the day after tomorrow at the earliest. Once I’m back, I’ll visit Auntie.”
“Camping?” Xu Weiran hadn’t heard her mention it before.
“Yeah,” Sheng Ning’an explained, “a high school classmate just opened a new camping site, and they invited us to come play. I heard we can not only camp and have a meal, but also lie down and watch stars at night, so we’re planning to experience it tomorrow.”
Although Sheng Ning’an had an average relationship with her former classmates, Tang Dou had always maintained contact with everyone.
