"It's here!" Reporter Mutō Yūgi was furiously snapping photos at another spot.
After recognizing Boss Huang's identity, he knew there would be big news today. So, even though he had worked until 4 AM the previous night, he still dragged himself up at 8 AM, prepared all his tools and equipment, and arrived at the venue before the event started, ready to capture today's major scoop.
Of course, it would be perfect if he could also snag a few rare Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. However, Mutō Yūgi found Boss Huang's behavior very puzzling.
He initially thought Boss Huang was just a rich second-generation heir with a penchant for attention-grabbing stunts, so his decision to do this wasn't surprising.
But now that he knew Boss Huang's identity and had done a quick investigation into the rise of the Jiangnan Group, he felt something was amiss. Boss Huang didn't seem like someone who would engage in such impulsive behavior. If there wasn't another reason, then perhaps their Boss Huang had a grand plan in motion!
The astute Mutō Yūgi, having figured this out, was even less likely to miss this opportunity. He then saw Boss Huang appear in the crowd as expected. The beautiful shrine maiden from before had also arrived, and now dressed in modern attire, she looked even more captivating.
"Click, click, click!" Mutō Yūgi took several photos. He checked and saw that he seemed to be the only reporter present, meaning his photos would be exclusive.
"Did you bring all those cards from two days ago?" the shrine maiden asked directly.
"Naturally!" Boss Huang smiled and nodded. Then, someone brought over a display rack, and all the Yu-Gi-Oh! cards were hung on it.
"Oh!" The shrine maiden's beautiful eyebrows twitched slightly. She noticed that all the Yu-Gi-Oh! cards were now packaged in individual card boxes.
These card boxes were made of transparent acrylic material, with high clarity, allowing a clear view of the cards inside. Of course, only the topmost card was visible; dozens of cards were hidden beneath it.
However, the cards displayed on the outside were already quite striking, as many of them were very rare.
The most eye-catching was a Magician of Black Chaos, a first edition released in 1999, priced around 12,000 yen. While not extremely rare, it wasn't something one could easily obtain.
There was also a Pot of Greed. Although Pot of Greed is a very common card and doesn't sell for much, this was a holographic Pot of Greed, likely a special league edition released in 2000, making it very rare and worth around 10,000 yen.
In addition, there were cards worth about 6,000 yen, another worth about 5,000 yen, and one worth about 4,000 yen.
These cards were all placed at the highest positions on the rack.
Below these cards were rows of ordinary card boxes. The visible cards in these boxes were generally worth between 100 and 1,000 yen.
However, these cards were also neatly arranged. The more valuable cards were placed on the upper levels, and the cheaper ones on the lower levels. The beautiful shrine maiden also noticed that numbers were attached to the front of each layer of cards.
For example, the most valuable card, worth 12,000 yen, had the English letter "A" displayed in front of it. Following that, the letters B, C, D, E, F, and G represented six different tiers, ranked by card value.
The only exception was the holographic Pot of Greed, worth 10,000 yen, which had the letter "L" in front of it, out of place with the other letters, and was positioned at the very top of the rack, even higher than the 12,000 yen card.
In total, there were only five cards in the very valuable A, B, C, D, and L tiers. Then there were five cards in the D tier, worth 1,000 yen, followed by 20 cards in the E tier, worth 500 yen, 25 cards in the F tier, worth 200 yen, and 25 cards in the G tier, worth 100 yen, bringing the total number of cards to 75.
"What is this guy planning?" Mutō Yūgi, the beautiful shrine maiden, and all the onlookers in the audience looked at Boss Huang on stage with bewilderment.
"Ladies and gentlemen!" Boss Huang said with a smile, "As you all know, I told this beautiful lady that the cards I have, valued at around 150,000 yen, could be sold for 400,000 yen."
"However, I must admit defeat in advance, because I simply cannot do such a thing. How could I sell 150,000 yen worth of cards for 400,000 yen? But I still intend to sell them, so I will sell the 150,000 yen worth of cards for 150,000 yen!" Boss Huang said cheerfully, leaving the beautiful shrine maiden stunned.
She had prepared herself, expecting Boss Huang to show off. But he admitted defeat before even starting. What was going on?
"It's a pity we don't have any wagers between us, otherwise I'd have to lose something to this lady!" Boss Huang sighed, then joked, "How about this, if you don't mind, I'll offer myself in marriage later!"
"Hahaha!" A burst of laughter erupted from the audience. However, the beautiful shrine maiden wasn't angered by Boss Huang's teasing. Instead, she simply stared at Boss Huang, as if to say, "Let's see how you perform now."
"Sir, we can discuss the matter of marriage later. I want to know how you plan to sell these 150,000 yen worth of cards. Are we just going to pick them from the rack like this?" the beautiful shrine maiden asked curiously.
"Not at all, that would be too boring!" Boss Huang waved his hand and then smiled, "I, like Mutō Yūgi, am a person who truly enjoys games."
"Since Yu-Gi-Oh! is an excellent game, the way I sell these cards should naturally be through a game," Boss Huang said with a smile, then snapped his fingers. Someone brought over a box filled with many small cards.
"Friends, this is an interesting game I devised in my spare time."
"As you can all see, the boxes on the rack behind me each contain a total of 16 Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. One card is facing forward, which you can see through the acrylic box. The other 15 cards hidden behind it contain unknown cards!"
"For the card displayed on the outside, everyone knows its value. But the value of the 15 hidden cards is unknown!"
"These are the cards I acquired two days ago, with a total value of 150,000 yen. You can see their exposed value, and the unseen value is hidden within the 15 cards behind them!"
"I guarantee that the 15 hidden cards are absolutely random. I put them in with my eyes closed, randomly selecting them, so no one knows how much value is hidden inside."
"It's possible that the 15 cards in one box are worth over 100,000 yen, or it could be just 15 cards that are worthless," Boss Huang said.
"Isn't this just like pulling packs?" the beautiful shrine maiden said disdainfully. "This game is completely uninteresting. Although you've revealed the price of one card, we still have to rely on luck to get the hidden cards of unknown value, just like pulling cards. What's the difference between this and buying official card packs?"
"No, there is a difference, because these card boxes behind me cannot be purchased freely; they must be obtained through a draw!" Boss Huang said with a smile.
"A draw?" the beautiful shrine maiden was taken aback.
"That's right, a draw. You see this box in my hand? It contains a total of 75 prize tickets. 74 of them are blue prize tickets, and one is a golden prize ticket."
"The blue prize tickets are for everyone to draw. You only need to pay 2,000 yen to buy one blue prize ticket. The ticket will randomly give you a corresponding number from A to G, matching the quantity of the prize boxes displayed above. Only by drawing the corresponding letter can you take a corresponding prize box from the rack!"
"And the player who draws the last prize ticket will have the right to purchase the golden prize ticket. This golden prize ticket contains the L prize, which allows you to get the box for the L prize."
"Actually, L prize means 'last prize,' indicating the right to purchase the final reward!" Boss Huang fully explained the rules of this game, and the beautiful shrine maiden listened in a daze.
The rules were actually quite simple, and anyone could understand them at a glance. On the surface, it seemed like a concept similar to scratch-off lottery tickets, with nothing particularly novel.
However, the beautiful shrine maiden felt an inexplicable urge to buy.
The purchase price was 2,000 yen per ticket. Out of the 75 prize tickets, only five were guaranteed to be profitable; the other 70 had a chance of loss.
But the 6.666% chance of winning was already far higher than ordinary lottery tickets.
Moreover, there was no situation where you would leave empty-handed. Even with the worst luck, you would still get a card worth 100 yen.
More importantly, behind this card, there were 15 hidden opportunities for a dramatic comeback, possibly turning the tables and winning even more prizes!
And the total prize pool was 150,000 yen, while the total price of the prize tickets was also 150,000 yen. Doing basic arithmetic, this was a sure win-win situation!
The beautiful shrine maiden's blood began to boil, and she even made a move to take out her wallet.
"By the way, I've given this interesting game an interesting name: 'Blind Box Huáng Huáng Prize'," Boss Huang said with a bright, sunny smile.
