Chapter 523: This Power… Is Mine

Chapter 523: This Power... Is Mine

BOOM!

The thunderous roar echoed just as Ethan finished speaking—and without a second of hesitation, he charged straight at Lucivar and Gabriel. Seeing this, Ataneya, Namyanna, and Andona didn’t waste a heartbeat either. They launched into the fray, diving headfirst into battle.

Charging straight at the enemy.

"You’re asking for it!" Gabriel snarled, his mask of civility shattering in an instant. Lucivar’s expression twisted with rage too, their eyes now burning with pure, murderous intent.

"Fine. If you’re so eager to die, we’ll be happy to oblige."

"Lucivar, go! Don’t hold back because of Andona. She’s a traitor to our kind—she doesn’t deserve to live!" Gabriel’s voice was ice-cold, his words slicing through the air like a blade.

Then, in a blur of motion, he vanished—teleporting, or something close to it—and reappeared right in front of Andona, striking without mercy.

CLANG!

The Angelblade was drawn, erupting in a blaze of divine fire.

The force of the strike sent Andona flying back, barely able to block it. But Gabriel wasn’t done. The momentum of his attack carried forward, and he turned his fury toward Ethan, slashing at him with brutal force.

Andona let out a furious roar.

Her aura exploded outward, raw and wild.

A surge of power erupted from her—Light Magic and Death Magic igniting together in a volatile fusion. It was like a spark had hit a powder keg.

The shockwave hit hard.

Even Lucivar and Gabriel, along with the entire army of Divine Angels and Angels of Death, staggered under the pressure. Their bodies tensed, their expressions twisted in discomfort.

Lucivar and Gabriel exchanged a glance—both of them visibly shaken. In their eyes flickered something unexpected: fear, jealousy... and longing.

They were Overlords, yes—but this kind of power? This was something else. Something they craved. Something they dreamed of possessing.

"You brought this on yourself, Andona. Don’t blame me..." Lucivar sneered, his voice cold as steel.

And then he lunged at her.

"Andona!" Ataneya shouted, seeing her surrounded.

Without hesitation, she and Namyanna rushed in. After fighting side by side for so long, the three of them had become more than allies—they were comrades.

And comrades don’t stand by and watch.

BANG!

Ataneya hit first.

She collided with Lucivar head-on.

Just one strike.

And Lucivar was sent flying—blasted backward through the air, tumbling across the battlefield.

"What?!" Lucivar’s face twisted in disbelief.

He hadn’t expected to be overpowered—let alone knocked back.

But before he could recover, Namyanna’s attack landed.

BOOM!

BOOM!

The Trident of the Sea God materialized in her hands, and with it came a tidal wave that surged into the sky, crashing down with unstoppable force.

The wave swept through the battlefield, swallowing up the mixed army of Divine Angels and Angels of Death, tossing them like leaves in a storm.

Lucivar’s face darkened as he watched his forces get scattered.

He turned to Gabriel, fury in his voice. "Gabriel! I need your power—merge with me!"

"Hmph."

Gabriel scoffed, his expression dripping with disdain. "Looks like you’ve gotten weaker with age, Lucivar. Can’t believe you can’t even handle them."

"Cut the crap."

"If you want me out of this, I’ll walk right now. But you think you can beat them without me?" Lucivar shot back with a cold laugh. "Go ahead—try."

Gabriel’s face twisted with frustration.

He knew Lucivar was threatening him—but the worst part? He was right. Even with all their might, the Divine Angels alone might not be enough to take down Andona and her allies.

"Tch."

"Just this once."

BOOM!

Gabriel’s voice was like a blade of ice.

Then his power exploded outward, surging toward Lucivar. In the next instant, their energies began to merge—Light Magic and Death Magic intertwining, fusing into something monstrous.

A storm was born. A terrifying, unstoppable storm.

Seeing the fusion of Lucivar and Gabriel’s powers, Ethan’s expression darkened.

"...Seriously?" he muttered, clearly annoyed. "They can actually combine their powers?"

But before he could dwell on it, Andona suddenly moved.

She raised her Holy Sword of Light high above her head, let out a low growl—and then, to everyone’s shock, the swirling Light Magic and Death Magic around her began to surge inward, getting pulled into her body like a vortex.

"What?!"

Lucivar and Gabriel’s faces twisted in disbelief.

Even Ethan and the others froze for a second—then their shock turned into excitement.

"Andona?!"

"My Lord," Andona said, her voice steady but laced with awe, "I can absorb this power."

"Perfect. That’s even better!" Ethan grinned. "In that case, Andona, it’s all yours from here!"

Then, as if struck by a sudden idea, Ethan’s eyes lit up. He darted across the battlefield, grabbed a random Divine Angel and an Angel of Death from the enemy ranks, and dragged them back—tossing them right in front of Andona.

"Andona, try absorbing their power too!"

Andona blinked, stunned. For a moment, she just stared at Ethan like he’d lost his mind.

But then she paused... and thought about it.

Wait. Could that actually work?

Thud.

Almost on instinct, she reached out and touched one of them.

And to her shock—it worked.

Both the Divine Angel and the Angel of Death began to convulse, their energy pouring out of them in glowing streams, flowing straight into Andona’s body.

"Aaagh—!" The two soldiers screamed in agony before collapsing, lifeless.

"My Lord... it really works," Andona said, dazed.

"Then don’t stop," Ethan said quickly. "Focus on wiping out the regular troops—drain the Divine Angels and Angels of Death. We’ll weaken their army first, then once we’ve got the upper hand, we’ll take down Lucivar and Gabriel."

Andona’s eyes widened.

She hadn’t expected Ethan to come up with something this insane.

But the more she thought about it...

It made perfect sense.

And more than that—it was working.

This... this might be the true power of the Angel King. The ability to absorb and devour the strength of other angels? That wasn’t just powerful—it was a natural counter to their entire race.

Meanwhile, Lucivar and Gabriel were both losing it.

Their faces went pale with disbelief.

"Andona, what are you doing?!"

"Don’t forget—you’re one of us! You’re an Angel too! Why—why would you do this?!"

"How can you absorb the power of your own kind?!" Gabriel shouted, his voice cracking with fury and desperation.

He was trying to guilt-trip her, to shame her into stopping.

But it was pointless.

Andona didn’t even look at him.

She just kept moving—hunting down her targets, one after another.
