Jian You followed the servant to the training room. Upon seeing the scene inside, her eyes flickered with a hint of surprise.
Compared to her previous training, this facility was much more complete. Every piece of equipment looked incredibly expensive, and even the room's decoration was exquisite. She guessed it was that man's private gym.
Apart from traces of friction, all other parts of the equipment were gleaming and new. She knew the owner must be someone extremely particular and cherishing of his possessions. Did he not fear she would break them?
Jian You hadn't expected him to lend her his personal belongings. She walked forward slowly, gently caressing the equipment, feeling the distinct difference in texture.
A slow smile curved Jian You's lips. If she were to work here, it would be quite pleasant.
Normanis entered and saw this scene, his face immediately softening. "Do you like it?"
Hearing someone enter, Jian You's expression immediately turned serious. "Does sir not announce himself before entering?"
After speaking, Jian You slowly turned to face the newcomer. He was dressed in a custom-made black suit, and a blue tie lent him a gentle aura.
The person was indeed Normanis. After they had left, he had felt restless. This inexplicable unease made him unable to sit still, so he decided to return and check on Qian Ya. Seeing her would surely put his mind at ease.
However… upon his return, he thought of Jian You and headed straight for the gym. As expected, he found her there. It was just that her expression had changed so rapidly.
"This is my training room…"
Jian You was instantly rendered speechless, unsure how to respond.
Normanis smiled, then walked up to her, mirroring her earlier action as he gently stroked the equipment. "You can use anything here, but… in a couple of days."
Seeing Jian You's gaze, Normanis looked at her face. "Your wounds still need to heal; strenuous exercise is not advisable right now. I'll show you other places."
Jian You looked at the man's broad back and lifted her arm, feeling as though it was not too bad. Nothing major.
Everyone saw their master, who was rarely seen outside of meals, returning and strolling with a woman. Those with more active imaginations had already hurried away…
Normanis took her to the horse stables, the racing circuit, and finally to the shooting range.
Jian You's pupils instantly brightened. She rarely encountered such things in the grassroots level; they only got to play with them a little in City A, but there were strict limitations. Each time, it ended before she could truly enjoy it.
Normanis watched Jian You with amusement. This girl's thoughts were quite easy to guess, despite her usual inscrutable demeanor.
"You can play with anything here, but only after your injuries have healed." These were real firearms, and the recoil was quite strong. He didn't want her to get hurt.
Jian You immediately felt dejected upon hearing this. She looked down at her body, feeling it was too much of a hindrance. She'd apply that ointment when they got back, and with her healing ability, she'd be good as new soon!
"Can I? How accurate can I shoot?"
Normanis knew she was capable, otherwise, they wouldn't have both appreciated her so much. He heard them say that it was due to a lack of opportunity at the grassroots level that she had stayed there for so long, a true waste of talent.
Jian You nodded, her gaze fixed on the distant targets. "Pretty good."
If Lü Qing heard this, she would immediately deny it, as there wasn't a bullet she couldn't hit.
Normanis knew Jian You was likely a low-key person. So if she said "pretty good," it meant she was quite skilled. He immediately became interested and smiled at Jian You. "Race you?"
An indescribable surge of excitement coursed through Jian You. She turned back and nodded emphatically. "Deal!"
But, do you still remember Old Jian's words?
Normanis brought over two rifles, handed one to Jian You first, and then took one himself. "Five bullets each. Let's see who has a higher hit rate. I won't hold back!"
With that, Normanis sharply raised his arm, steadied the gun, and fired a shot at the target…
"Bang~"
Direct hit on the bullseye!
Jian You watched his fluid and dashing movements with admiration, every cell in her body coming alive.
"Good marksmanship!"
Jian You couldn't help but praise him. The next moment, she picked up a gun, though she still caressed its barrel first.
"Old Jian didn't spare any expense to prepare these for you?" Normanis teased, looking at her cherished demeanor.
Jian You pouted. That old man certainly didn't have the money to get these for her.
Normanis watched Jian You, lost in thought. It seemed that here, she became very different, as if truly alive, no longer so lifeless. This version of her was clearly more vibrant and lovely.
At this moment, Jian You's entire attention was on the gun, and she naturally didn't notice Normanis's gaze.
She didn't have these toys in City A, while here, there were rows of various firearms! It made her a little envious.
After calming her emotions, Jian You slowly raised her gun. However, she didn't have the man's practiced skill. Once she had aimed, she quickly gripped the handle and exerted force with her finger.
Phew~ Close. The distance here was at least twice that in City A, and it was a gun she hadn't used before. Comparatively, it was much harder to control.
Normanis watched her shooting process without comment, his hands still moving swiftly, firing bullets.
As he exerted himself, the muscles in his arm seemed to strain his suit to the breaking point, his demeanor undiminished by time.
Jian You merely glanced at him casually before immediately turning her head to look at the man. "Sir is indeed formidable!" This further stimulated Jian You. She took more time with each shot, and by the end, she had been aiming for several minutes!
Just as she was preparing to pull the trigger, a male body pressed close behind her, maintaining a gentlemanly distance.
However, it was still difficult for Jian You to accept. As she was about to speak, a voice suddenly reached her ear.
"You need to find a suitable weapon and then practice it until it becomes second nature. Get the basics solid, then aim, refocus your vision, hold your breath, and fire, all in one smooth motion…"
As Normanis provided close-up instruction, Jian You entered an optimal state, listening attentively and following his steps. When Normanis's final words fell, they both pulled the trigger simultaneously.
Jian You looked at the distant target and revealed a genuine smile, which broadened progressively, like a child who had received candy. "Hit! I hit it!"
Normanis looked at her joyful expression and a doting curve graced his lips.
The old lady rushed back and saw this scene. She couldn't even catch her breath before striding forward, her cane tapping rhythmically. The guards at the gate respectfully ushered her in.
Such a commotion naturally alerted the two people on the shooting range. They both looked in the direction of the sound…
