Qiu Feng Ting Yu

78. An Unwelcome Guest Arrives

Wang Xin was sent off first. We watched her walk into the residential compound after getting out of the car, and only then did we drive away.

I didn't go to my place. There wasn't anything valuable there, and I'd have my mother come back later to sort things out.

After dropping off Xiao Pang, Jing Lei and I went to Lan Ya's office at Da Shi Jie.

Lan Ya and the 'She-devil' were both there.

Jing Lei glared furiously at the She-devil, as if she wanted to devour her. The She-devil didn't dare to meet Jing Lei's gaze, just sat there with her head bowed.

No matter how she explained it, she couldn't escape responsibility for this matter.

Seeing Jing Lei and me arrive together, Lan Ya stood up and gestured for her to sit on the sofa. The She-devil got up to make tea.

Lan Ya: "Are things settled?"

I replied, "Yes, we've found temporary lodging for now. We'll look for a more suitable place later."

The She-devil poured us each a glass of water, then turned to me and said, "Hua Zi, I want to say something to you."

After she finished, she turned and walked outside. I guessed what she had to say was related to the person surnamed Sun, so I followed her out to hear her out.

She walked straight to the end of the corridor after leaving. There were no rooms there, and it was very quiet.

She said, "I know you must be planning to go after Principal Sun. If you need me to do anything, just tell me. This incident made me realize something: how can you rely on someone who only knows how to use you? Only by sticking together like brothers can we win the fight. That bastard really screwed me over."

I asked, "Aren't you afraid he'll threaten you with those indecent photos?"

She replied, "What good would it do if I were afraid? We don't know what malicious ideas he'll come up with next. We'll be even more passive then."

I said, "I want to know the real evidence they used to frame my father. The more detailed, the better. You'll have to testify in court and explain the entire sequence of events. Can you do that?"

She gathered her courage and said, "Since I've decided to come to you, I've made up my mind. Don't worry, we'll definitely bring that bastard to justice. I'll provide you with plenty of evidence of his embezzlement, his secret slush funds, and how he framed your father!"

I replied, "I choose to believe you, but you have to do what you can. If you can't, you can't. If you expose your tracks, we'll be put in a passive position instead."

She said she understood and told me to wait for her news. Then we returned to the office.

The She-devil said, "If there's nothing else for Lan Jie, I'll head back to the suburbs."

Lan Ya waved her goodbye.

Frankly, her actions today, risking her life to save the 'Crown Prince,' were no less than ours. This person, no matter how you put it, at least had no selfish thoughts when putting her life on the line.

Just then, my phone rang again. This guy was truly a persistent nuisance. The bastard had escaped with his life and probably had some breathing room, so he was calling again.

Crown Prince: "Li Hua, you got lucky today, but this is just the beginning. Winning or losing is still far off. You're in the open, and I'm in the shadows. You'd better keep a close eye on your little wife, lest she stirs up trouble again."

He hung up with a sinister chuckle.

I was shocked. His words clearly had a hidden meaning. Could he be targeting Xiao Hong again?

I hurried out and went to the second-floor bar to find the lobby manager, asking for Xiao Hong's workstation.

The lobby manager said she was in charge of washing fruits in the storeroom today and should be there now.

I rushed over and saw Xiao Hong and another employee washing fruits in the sink. Only then did I feel relieved.

I walked over and said to her, "Stop for a moment, and come out with me."

Xiao Hong looked troubled. Her position was crucial, and if she left, the other person wouldn't be able to handle the workload.

I used the intercom to call the lobby manager to send someone to the warehouse to temporarily replace Xiao Hong.

I told the lobby manager to assign Xiao Hong to service in the General Manager's office today and to tell anyone looking for her that she was unavailable.

The lobby manager nodded in agreement, and I took Xiao Hong to the third floor.

Once in the room, I told Lan Ya, "The Crown Prince is targeting our people again. We are in the open, and they are in the shadows. Let Xiao Hong stay here for a while; I'll go down to make some arrangements."

I went to the first-floor lobby to check. The people drinking and dancing seemed normal, no groups congregating. They were all individual patrons, enjoying themselves.

I told the manager to assign more people to the entrance and to question anyone suspicious. It wasn't about treating everyone as a guest anymore; some might be enemies.

The manager went to arrange for the personnel. Just as the staff were being assigned, a group of people in suits and ties stormed in. My first thought was that they were the Crown Prince's men. However, they weren't dressed in black trousers and shoes; they were all in suits, wearing sunglasses with indifferent expressions as they walked in.

The security guards didn't even have time to stop them before they barged in.

Once inside, they lined up at the bar, facing the lobby, hands behind their backs, as if waiting for someone.

Indeed, a moment later, a black sedan stopped at the entrance of the lobby. Several people emerged from the car, surrounding a dark-skinned, tall man as he walked in.

This man was also wearing a suit, but his was white, with a scarlet tie and fiery red shoes.

He held a cigar in his mouth and took a deep puff. Someone behind him ran over and told the manager, "This is Mr. Wu De, an MP from Myanmar. He heard that you have a lady named Cui Chun Hong who provides excellent service. Mr. Wu De has come specifically to pay his respects!"

Damn it, they were waiting for me here! The Crown Prince was using this kind of tactic against me!

The manager politely said, "I'm sorry, sir, we don't have anyone named Cui Chun Hong here. If you require service from someone else, we will do our best to meet your requirements."

One of Wu De's subordinates immediately slapped the manager and cursed, "Don't push your luck. Since you can name her, you know this person is here. Don't try to play games with us; you're no match for us!"

He then waved his hand, and the people in gray clothing lifted their jackets, revealing the short guns tucked into their waistbands. They then all placed their hands on their waists in unison.

I was startled. Dozens of short guns firing would be no joke; lives would definitely be lost. After the shooting, they would just flee to the border, and we could only glare.

The manager was stunned into silence, unable to utter a word.

I walked over and said to that person, "I am the person in charge here. If you have something to say, say it to me."

Seeing a young kid approach, the person raised his hand to hit me again. I grabbed his arm, twisted it backward, and flipped his hand over. He let out a yelp of pain and immediately crouched to the ground.

I said, "When you entered, I treated you as guests and expected you to behave yourselves while consuming our services. If you act arrogantly and cause trouble here, I apologize, but you are not welcome. Everyone, please leave!"

Wu De removed his sunglasses, leaned closer to me, and patted my face with his white-gloved hand. He whispered to me, "You'd better behave, or I'll level this place with cannons!"
