As the crowd buzzed with discussion, Li Se made his move. What use were iron pipes against him? He reached out and precisely grabbed the first pipe hurled at him. Before the attacker could react, the pipe was snatched away, and Li Se swung it, connecting with a loud bang.
Blood splattered as the man's head split open. He collapsed on the ground, howling in agony.
Bang, bang, bang…
With a few more swift swings, the charging bald thugs met the same fate. Without exception, their heads were split open, and they lay on the ground, writhing in pain.
At this moment, the entire bar fell silent.
No one had expected Li Se to be so ferocious, dispatching the bald men and their associates so effortlessly. After all, they had all been armed with iron pipes.
Their gazes were filled with a new fear as they looked at Li Se. This guy was incredibly fierce.
The alluring woman from before dared not speak, trembling slightly.
"You dare cause trouble here, you're dead! Young Master Zhao won't let you go!" the bald man roared.
Upon hearing this, everyone became excited.
"That's right, this is Young Master Zhao's territory. This kid dares to cause trouble here, Young Master Zhao will definitely not let him off!"
"Young Master Zhao is from a prominent Beijing family. No matter how skilled you are, you're useless before him!"
"This beauty ultimately can't escape her fate."
"Young Master Zhao seems to be in this bar today."
"…"
Many people were whispering amongst themselves.
Dada, dada…
Just then, footsteps sounded from the second floor. A man, with a stunning woman in his arms, descended the stairs.
"It's Young Master Zhao!" someone exclaimed.
"Who dares to cause trouble in my bar?" Zhao Ping asked with a smile, but his eyes were icy.
The bald man quickly approached Zhao Ping and said respectfully, "Young Master Zhao, a fellow is causing trouble in our bar and has beaten up our men!"
"Oh, whose audacity is so great?" Zhao Ping sneered.
"It's him!" the bald man pointed at Li Se.
Li Se looked up slightly, gazing at Zhao Ping with a playful expression. "Yo, Zhao Ping, it's been a while."
"Damn it, is that name something you can just call?" the bald man yelled.
"He's courting death, daring to call Young Master Zhao by his name!" Many felt Li Se was doomed.
Zhao Ping was also somewhat annoyed. How dare someone call him by name, utterly oblivious to their own doom. However, just as he was about to unleash his anger, he finally recognized Li Se's face. The fury he was about to express immediately vanished, replaced by sheer terror.
"Oh my god, Young Master Li?" Zhao Ping was so scared he almost peed himself. Why was it this guy? This was the person who dared to beat up Ye Bowen, and not only beat him up, but remained perfectly fine afterward. That was enough to prove the man's capabilities.
"Zhao Ping, what, are you going to teach me a lesson?" Li Se asked with a half-smile.
"I wouldn't dare… I wouldn't dare…" Zhao Ping certainly wouldn't dare. Li Se had once tormented him with a single silver needle, making him wish he were dead.
"Your men are quite arrogant, even eyeing my woman!" Li Se chuckled coldly.
Slap!
Zhao Ping immediately slapped the bald man across the face and roared, "Quickly apologize to Young Master Li!"
The bald man was stunned. However, he also realized something: Li Se was not as simple as he appeared. He had kicked an iron plate this time. All he could do was apologize to Li Se. "I'm sorry, I have eyes but failed to see."
The surrounding onlookers were dumbfounded, unable to believe this outcome.
"Sister Mei, let's go," Li Se said. He didn't want to stay any longer. He had intended to quietly have a drink, but it had escalated into this. However, he didn't want to bother with Zhao Ping and his ilk.
Thus, under the watchful eyes of everyone, Li Se and Su Mei left the bar unharmed.
"Se, did something happen?" Su Mei asked softly as they got into the car.
"Sister Mei, how did you know something happened?" Li Se asked, surprised.
Su Mei said, "Given your personality, why would you go out for a drink for no reason? Something must have happened. Can you tell me?"
Li Se hesitated for a moment, then sighed softly. "I basically know who wants to kill me. If nothing unexpected happens, it should be the Li family, but I haven't confirmed which member of the Li family it is!"
Su Mei fell silent. She wrapped her arms around Li Se, letting him rest his head on her chest.
Li Se almost suffocated, but smelling Su Mei's fragrance calmed him down. The feeling was comforting, and drowsiness soon overtook him. Before he knew it, he had fallen asleep.
He didn't know how long he slept. When he woke up, it was still dark. Li Se saw the weariness on Su Mei's face and said apologetically, "Sister Mei, I'm sorry. It was too comfortable resting on you, and I accidentally fell asleep."
Su Mei smiled. "If you want to rest your head, you can do it every day from now on."
"Sister Mei, you must be tired. I'll take you home," Li Se said.
"And you?" Su Mei asked, confused.
"I need to go somewhere," Li Se replied, not specifying where.
Su Mei hesitated. "Shall I accompany you?"
"No need, Sister Mei, I can go alone," Li Se smiled.
Su Mei seemed to already know where Li Se was going and said nothing further.
After dropping Su Mei off at the villa, Li Se drove away. Glancing at his watch, it was already three in the morning. In about fifty minutes, his car was parked outside the military sanatorium.
"Entry prohibited!"
Due to the time, even Li Se was stopped by the military guards.
"Let him in!" A woman's voice came from inside. It was Leng Rushuang.
With Leng Rushuang's permission, the guards let him pass.
"Sister Leng, thank you," Li Se said gratefully.
"You really are something, coming here in the middle of the night when people should be sleeping. Third Master is still asleep," Leng Rushuang yawned, speaking with a hint of complaint.
Before coming, Li Se had called Leng Rushuang. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to enter the military zone. Although his status was equivalent to a Major General, he had never flaunted it, including his identity as a royal physician. In fact, he hadn't specifically mentioned it publicly because he knew both of these identities were largely due to the help of the Li and Xiao families.
Therefore, since entering Beijing, Li Se had not relied on these identities. He knew that if he chose to reveal them, it would grant him unimpeded passage. However, this would be equivalent to the Xiao and Li families helping him.
Moreover, the ones trying to kill him now were the Li family!
