The Fifth Time—
Following the memory trigger "Pickled Olives."
Watts and Rosaline traveled to a bar where two couples sat at a table, a jar of pickled olives placed on it.
On one side of the table were John and Sissy, and on the other were their lifelong friends, Isabelle and her husband Nicholas.
They all looked quite young, the timeline flashing back to John's youth.
A light bgm played.
Comfort alone wasn't enough, so John directly tore off the notice: "This place means a lot to me. I've always thought—"
He turned to Sissy, his eyes full of affection, "Given our current situation, life has been quite stable. If we're frugal, in a few years, we'll have enough savings to build a house here."
He added apologetically, "It'll be a bit tight, but I promise—"
Quack—!
Sissy leaped up excitedly, interrupting John. The old thief had even added a sound effect for Sissy to emphasize her excitement.
"We can see her through the window!!"
She exclaimed, "Whether it's morning or night, we can be by her side! And... we can come here for walks anytime!"
Quack—
She jumped again, Sissy was too happy. "John, she'll never be alone again!!"
Gulp—
Sissy hugged John excitedly, "I can visit her every day!"
She was truly happy, so much so that it overflowed the screen, allowing everyone to feel it.
John gently stroked Sissy's forehead, his love radiating, "Yes, we can come together every day."
The scene was so heartwarming that the audience was moved to tears.
"This overflowing happiness, I really... long for it so much."
"Feels so happy, I'm envious."
"Sissy, the ending is never as important as the process, but with you, I want both the ending and the process. I love you!"
"Sissy is in my quilt, don't call her."
"Hahaha, I'm dying of laughter!"
...
"Suddenly, I realized this is a love game, a love game where you know the tragic ending in advance."
Mo Zhi commented, "It's not entirely tragic. From a certain perspective, this is Sissy's wish. No wonder she insisted on John building the house instead of seeking treatment."
"She has a deep affection for this lighthouse."
"So, Anya, whom you've mentioned before, is the lighthouse?"
Mo Zhi recalled their previous conversation and substituted Anya with the lighthouse, and everything made sense.
Another problem solved.
But Sissy giving up treatment for the lighthouse was too... Mo Zhi couldn't find the right adjective.
However, she could understand Sissy; Sissy must have had a deeper reason.
The root cause still lay in why John chased Sissy.
This was the core, and there was still no clue.
She operated Watts to collect the memory fragments in this scene—"Yellow Paper Rabbit."
The Seventh Time—
Heading back to an earlier timeline of John's memories.
Middle-aged.
The mystery was getting closer.
