Chapter 179: The Might Of An Omega

Chapter 179: The Might Of An Omega

The city drowned in gold.

The Dragon King moved first. His hands spread, and light crushed downward like mountains falling from the sky.

Lucian folded space, dragging Lucy aside, but the pressure hit him anyway. His cloak ripped apart, blood gushed from his mouth. He slammed into the cobblestones, body skidding until stone broke beneath him.

Lucy planted her blade in the ground, black fire rushing up to meet the wave. It split for a breath, but the gold swallowed it, broke it, sent her crashing back into rubble. Her ribs cracked, breath torn out of her chest.

Karl roared. He didn’t dodge. He surged straight into the flood, wings flaring, scales blazing. His claws tore through the golden wave, flames bursting wider, his aura cracking against his father’s. For a heartbeat, he pushed through, standing in the storm.

Then the Dragon King appeared in front of him. One palm to his chest.

The impact ripped Karl from the sky. He smashed through the street, stone buckling, dust exploding. He coughed blood, but he rose, flames snarling across his body.

The King didn’t slow. He blurred, gold flashing. His fist drove into Karl’s jaw. The crack echoed. Karl’s head snapped sideways, his body lifted, spun, slammed through another building. Fire and stone collapsed around him.

Lucian staggered up, space chains snapping from his hands. They coiled around the King’s arms, bending reality itself to bind him.

The King flexed. The chains shattered like glass. Lucian vanished, reappeared above him, palms slicing the air. Space cracked open, collapsing on the King’s shoulders.

Golden aura swelled. The collapse broke. Light speared upward, ripping through Lucian’s chest. He dropped from the air like a broken doll, hitting the street hard, breath choking in his throat.

Lucy rose again, Infernal Eclipse in both hands, black fire shrieking. She leapt, blade carving through the King’s golden cloak, cutting deep across his side. For a breath, his aura split.

The King’s eyes narrowed. His hand lashed out, catching her face mid-strike. He hurled her down. Her body smashed through the ground, carving a crater, the black fire scattering into sparks. She lay still, her sword beside her.

Karl burst from the wreckage, his roar tearing through the air. His claws tore forward, molten fire spilling across the avenue. He slammed into his father, claws raking across golden armor. Sparks flew, molten trails carved across the King’s chest.

The Dragon King’s fist slammed into Karl’s gut. The sound was wet, brutal. Karl spat blood across the King’s shoulder. Still he clawed, still he raged, his scales cracking under the pressure.

The King lifted him by the throat, golden aura pouring through his body. Karl’s wings burned away at the edges, his flames sputtering. His claws still stabbed forward, catching the King’s arm, carving faint scars into his skin.

The Dragon King’s knee smashed into Karl’s ribs. The sound broke across the street. Karl gasped, blood spilling, his grin twisting with pain and fury.

The King hurled him into the sky. Karl’s body spun upward, wings flailing. Before he could right himself, the King was already there, faster than sight. A golden kick hammered into his chest, sending him crashing back down. He hit the avenue, stone exploding, fire rolling outward.

Lucian tried again, staggering to his feet, hand lifting. He folded space sharp, trying to cut the King’s legs from beneath him. Golden light swept, snapping the fold apart, sending Lucian sprawling once more.

Lucy pulled herself from the crater, blood streaking her face. She gripped her blade, whispered black fire crawling back along its edge. She dashed forward, her strikes blinding, each slash aimed for the cracks Karl had made.

The King caught her wrist, twisted. Bone snapped. Her scream was cut short by a golden backhand that hurled her across the plaza. She crashed into a broken spire, body limp, blade falling from her hand.

Karl rose again. Somehow. His body burned, broken, but still he rose. His molten eyes glared through the blood. His claws flexed, fire still raging. He charged, wings dragging streaks of flame through the air.

The King met him. Gold against fire. Their clash split the street apart. Karl’s claws ripped across his father’s shoulder, carving deep, blood spraying golden.

For a breath, Karl grinned through broken teeth. "Bleeding—"

The King’s fist cut him off. Straight through his jaw, snapping his head back, lifting his body from the ground. The second strike followed, a hammer into his chest. Bones cracked. The third slammed his skull into the ground, shattering stone.

Karl lay on his back, chest heaving, scales broken, blood soaking the street. His wings twitched, his fire still burning faint.

The Dragon King loomed over him, golden aura searing the air, his body barely marked save for faint streaks of blood. His eyes burned cold.

Lucian crawled from rubble, barely able to move. Lucy staggered on one leg, clutching her broken wrist. Both stared across the street, their bodies screaming, their breaths ragged.

Only Karl still rose. Slow. Broken. His grin gone, replaced by fury raw and wordless. His claws shook as he lifted them, fire crawling weak across his scales.

The King’s shadow fell over all three. His aura rolled heavier, drowning the city in gold. He raised one hand, light spilling wide, ready to end it.

Kaelis roared above. The sound froze the capital, split the sky. His wings beat once, fire raining down in rivers.

The Dragon King paused, eyes lifting. For the first time, his chest tightened. The power above pressed harder than even his Omega glow.

Karl coughed blood, forcing himself up again, his voice raw. "Not... done."

The Dragon King’s gaze snapped back down, golden fury flaring brighter. His aura erupted again, drowning the battlefield.

The siblings stood broken. Karl stood bleeding. The King stood unshaken.

The war had not ended. It had only shown how small they still were.
