The sudden appearance of Jiang Hai drew everyone's attention. People were astonished, wondering who dared to block Long Batian so brazenly and defy his orders in public.
"Jiang Hai, you're merely the Governor of Jiangnan. What? You intend to protect Li Xiaotian? Don't tell me you're his patron!" Long Batian sneered, holding the Governor of Jiangnan in no regard.
Upon hearing Long Batian's words, everyone present instantly understood Jiang Hai's identity. While the title of Governor might make many families present wary, it meant little to the Li family.
"Governor Jiang, you want to protect Li Xiaotian? The position of Governor is likely not enough!" Li Weihai said in a low, chilling tone, his expression filled with coldness.
Long Batian glanced at Li Xiaotian and then spoke dismissively, "This is your patron? Is this the capital for your arrogance? Do you truly believe a mere Governor can protect you?"
Li Xiaotian frowned slightly, glanced at Jiang Hai, and then looked at Long Batian, saying, "If you wish to die, just try it!"
"Presumptuous! Li Xiaotian, do you truly think a Governor can protect you? Even Jiang Hai wouldn't dare speak to me like this!" Long Batian roared in fury, his expression contorted. He glared fiercely at Jiang Hai and threatened,
"Jiang Hai, get out of the way. Are you prepared for the consequences of offending a War God like me for a nobody?"
"Long Batian! Don't be too audacious! Mr. Li's invitation was given by me. Do you know who invited him? Do you know his identity? He is." Jiang Hai reprimanded loudly, about to reveal Li Xiaotian's identity, but Li Xiaotian interrupted him.
"Jiang Hai, you talk too much!" Li Xiaotian said calmly. He did not wish to reveal his identity, especially in front of the Li family.
Upon hearing Li Xiaotian's words, Jiang Hai's heart chilled. He quickly moved to Li Xiaotian's side and bowed his head, saying, "I apologize, Mr. Li. Jiang Hai knows his mistake!"
This scene caused Long Batian and the others to become uneasy. What was Li Xiaotian's identity to earn such respect from Jiang Hai?
Even Long Batian himself, while he might disregard the Governor's title, acknowledging a relationship where neither could overpower the other, believed that no matter how capable he was, he couldn't make Jiang Hai so respectful towards him.
