Li Xiaotian appeared in his black attire beside a small town. To call it a town was an overstatement; it was merely a trading post established by a few individuals, quite rudimentary at that. Compounding the sparseness of people was the fact that many had evacuated in the past few days, leaving the town remarkably deserted.
The moment Li Xiaotian materialized, he felt the gaze of over a dozen individuals covertly watching him. The chaotic region was a melting pot, where those who frequented it either traveled in groups or were formidable lone wolves. Naturally, there were also newcomers, utterly clueless about the ways of the war zone.
Newcomers who arrived without any reception were destined for a grim fate. Public killings were hardly a rarity here.
Despite being alone, Li Xiaotian's aura, honed from years of leadership and his inherent strength, caused many of the watchful eyes to retreat. Those who operated in this domain possessed a certain discernment; the sightless had long since perished.
Li Xiaotian's eyes flickered. The chaotic region was vast, and if he were to search for Li Wenbo alone, it would be an arduous task to find him.
His gaze swept the surroundings, eventually settling on a middle-aged man who appeared to be idling his time away. The man was casually seated beside a stall, his eyes periodically glancing at the passersby.
Li Xiaotian walked towards him. The middle-aged man noticed Li Xiaotian, his gaze turning peculiar. Simultaneously, more than a dozen hidden eyes shifted their focus.
"Take me to see your leader," Li Xiaotian said calmly to the middle-aged man.
Leader. The hidden controller of every small town, whose informants were everywhere. Nothing that transpired in the town escaped their notice.
However, the leaders of such towns were invariably ruthless figures. They maintained the town's operations while also keeping tabs on everyone trading within its confines. Those of immense power were left to their own devices, but the weak yet valuable? Such individuals would likely not even leave the town alive.
"Leader? What are you talking about? Brother, if you're not buying anything, don't disturb my business!" The middle-aged man spoke with a tone of impatience, his eyes chilling as he looked at Li Xiaotian.
"Bang!" With a resounding crash, Li Xiaotian struck. He kicked over the middle-aged man's stall and sent the man flying with a powerful kick.
"Pfft!" The middle-aged man spat out a mouthful of blood. He got up, his face contorted, and began to curse Li Xiaotian.
"Damn it, you dare cause trouble here? Are you tired of living?"
In an instant, over a dozen figures emerged from the surroundings, quickly encircling Li Xiaotian, their eyes filled with murderous intent.
Such strong individuals as Li Xiaotian, who dared to cause trouble in the town, confident in their strength, had met unfortunate ends. The people here were not afraid of the strong; even the most powerful had a limit to their strength, though they did not consider a War God to be within that category.
"Take him down! Damn it, you kicked me and destroyed my stall. If you don't have enough money, you won't survive today!" The middle-aged man roared through gritted teeth. The surrounding individuals, ready to act, were about to move, but the next moment, Li Xiaotian acted. In the blink of an eye, he was before the middle-aged man.
The middle-aged man flinched in surprise. He was about to retreat, but then his neck was seized by Li Xiaotian.
"Take me to your leader, or die!" Li Xiaotian declared.
"Damn it! Young man, do you know what you're doing? Threatening me? Do you realize that even a War God wouldn't dare be so arrogant here?" The middle-aged man struggled, speaking through clenched teeth, his face filled with fury.
"Release Master Teng! You dare be so arrogant wanting to see our boss, haven't you opened your eyes to see where you are!" someone from the crowd shouted loudly.
"Hurry up and release Master Teng, then kneel and confess, or you'll surely die today!"
"This is the chaotic region; people die every moment. You, a newcomer, dare to be so presumptuous. You're courting death!"
The surrounding people shouted, their faces filled with indignation. They brandished their weapons and advanced step by step, ready to strike at any moment.
"Hmph! Did you hear that? Let go quickly." Master Teng said with a sneer. However, before he could finish speaking, his eyes widened, and then his face was etched with the certainty of death.
He was dead!
"Thud!" Li Xiaotian dropped the middle-aged man's corpse to the ground and then looked at the surrounding people, continuing to speak.
"Take me to your leader, or die!"
At this moment, silence descended upon the scene. Everyone stared at Li Xiaotian in disbelief, no one having expected him to be so ruthless, killing without hesitation.
"Top-tier General? Or War God?" Someone's face turned pale. The deceased middle-aged man was not weak, yet he had been killed by this young man without even a chance to resist!
"Bang!" Li Xiaotian remained silent and simply took action. He punched the person closest to him, sending him flying, then killed another with a palm strike. He had no time for further arguments. His words had been spoken, and these people had not taken them seriously, therefore they deserved to die!
"Stop killing! Stop killing! Esteemed sir, the leader requests your presence!!!" someone shouted anxiously from a distance. In just a breath, three people had died on their side. If they delayed any longer, their town might be annihilated!
The surrounding people looked at Li Xiaotian with fear, backing away, their gazes filled with apprehension.
Li Xiaotian stopped attacking and spoke softly.
"Lead the way!"
A few minutes later, Li Xiaotian arrived before a dilapidated factory. The jarring sound of heavy metal music emanated from within. Two guards, armed with real firearms, stood at the entrance. Upon seeing Li Xiaotian, their eyes were filled with ferocity, likely having been informed of Li Xiaotian's actions.
Suddenly, the music ceased, and an arrogant voice boomed from inside.
"Bring the person in! I want to see who dares to cause trouble in my territory!"
"Heh heh, kid, let's hope you can still be arrogant after meeting our boss!" The person guiding Li Xiaotian smirked coldly and led him into the factory.
Inside the factory were dozens of people, both men and women, scattered around, sitting and standing. Every gaze cast upon Li Xiaotian was varied – curiosity, disdain, coldness.
In the center was a tiger-skin sofa, upon which sat a man in his thirties. He was bare-chested, with a woman cradled in each arm. Upon seeing Li Xiaotian, he didn't even lift his head and said.
"Speak. I'll give you one minute. If you can't provide a satisfactory explanation, you can go die!"
As soon as the words fell, over a dozen guns in the room were instantly aimed at Li Xiaotian.
Seeing this, Li Xiaotian grinned. Had he underestimated the people of the chaotic regions in the war zone? They had brought someone who was clearly a potential War God to their stronghold, yet they dared to threaten him with death?
"Time's up! I'm sorry, you can go die!" The man checked his watch and said casually. He then looked up at Li Xiaotian. The moment he did, he froze completely!
