Lin Hai Ting Tao
Chapter 1696 Postscript: You Gave Me Confidence
Completing something is always a happy and relaxing experience.
Especially when that something has been completed quite well.
I am not narcissistic like Old Cat, but the results speak for themselves. This book is indeed the best I have written since becoming an online writer. Neither *We Are the Champions* nor *Champion Godfather* can compare to this one.
I have been writing books online for nearly ten years, and *King of the Zone* has created several firsts that are of great significance to me.
The first time the high order exceeded 10,000.
The first time I got a second cover recommendation.
The first time I had ten alliance leaders.
The first time I got into the top six of the monthly ticket chart, eventually finishing fifth.
These firsts are all milestones in my career.
For me, this book means more than just these firsts.
It even directly rebuilt my confidence.
When I wrote *Champion of Legend*, the results were so poor that I became very inferior. I felt that I should not continue to be an online writer, but should find a job, perhaps doing my old job, applying for a creative copywriting position in an advertising company...
I swear to you, I really had such thoughts.
That period was truly the lowest point of my life.
Poor results, lack of confidence, poor income, and heavy pressure.
The only good thing during *Champion of Legend* was that I gained love, got a wife, and started a family.
But conversely, this made me even more anxious. I didn't know if I could still do it, if I could continue on this path. If I couldn't continue in the past, I wouldn't continue. At worst, I would go to work.
But now I have a wife to support. If I go to work, can I earn enough money to support her and my parents, and can I give her a better material foundation for life? I really don't know.
Chatting with Old Cat, Hu Die Lan, 72 Bian, Roasted Fish, Geng Xin, Sandbag (Tun Tun Slime, the author of *Starry Sky Evolution*), Ice Slag (Ming Yu Angel, the author of *The Number One Headmaster in History*), and Little Flower, listening to Old Cat proudly and confidently say that he felt he could write like this for another ten years, I was envious and jealous.
I felt that I didn't even know if I could finish writing in a year.
It really got to that point.
So I was particularly uneasy when the story of Chen Hero began.
Although I worked hard to write it, and added a cheat-like Goldfinger (external device) that I had never tried before.
But I really didn't know what kind of results I could get.
I think many people may still remember the first day it was put on the shelves, I excitedly sent a single chapter to report to everyone that the 24-hour subscription at that time was 2,500.
I didn't hide my ecstasy at all.
You know, a huge stone had been pressing on my heart for a long time, and at this moment it finally showed signs of loosening and rolling away.
I was afraid this was an illusion, so I repeatedly confirmed with the editor.
Throughout the whole month of October, the competition for new book monthly tickets was fierce—I wasn't competing with any author, in fact, I had no opponent from the very beginning that month. The first place was Mao Ni, the gap was too big, I didn't even have the idea of competing with him. The third place, I forgot which book it was, anyway, the gap was also very big at the time, the other party seemed to struggle for a few days, and then stopped.
So the second place was fixed from the beginning.
But I was still high-spirited and working hard, coding words.
Competing with myself, competing with the promises I made, competing with the monthly tickets you voted for me. That was the first time I tried to take a laptop with me when I went out to visit relatives and friends and kept coding words—I never did this before, I would just code words at home, go out to play, and the same was true when attending annual meetings.
But during the year or so of writing *King of the Zone*, this was my normal state.
I carried a laptop with me wherever I went, and for this reason, I specifically bought a nine-cell battery, just to have a longer battery life, so I could write more. Because there was a problem with the laptop keyboard, I also bought a mini keyboard specifically for external typing.
My wife had to go to the hospital for prenatal checkups every month, and I drove her there. Then her mother took her to do the checkup, and I took out my computer in the underground parking lot and coded words, sitting for several hours, just coding words.
I really admired myself.
When I wrote *Champion Godfather*, I also said that I was never a speed-type writer, and that it would be more uncomfortable than killing me to explode and compete for monthly tickets.
But on this book, Chen Hero, I did it.
Yesterday, Sister Sandbag was in the word-拼 (pin) group and counted how many words everyone wrote in 2012. I calculated it and the final result was 4,012,787, four million twelve thousand seven hundred and eighty-seven words.
Four million words, I used a year.
In the past, I wouldn't have dared to think about it.
But I worked hard and made it happen, and I have always been high-spirited. Everyone can see this from the frequency of my explosions.
Why?
Because this book has restored my confidence and made me feel that I can still write things that satisfy the vast majority of people.
So I want to especially thank you, thank you for subscribing to my genuine version, thank you for rewarding me, thank you for voting for my monthly tickets.
I sincerely thank you.
You are the biggest motivation for me to work so frantically for a year.
Football is about passion, and you have given me such passion for coding words.

The success of this book exceeded my expectations, and I also learned a lot of things. It can even be said that I have been in the industry for nearly ten years, and I learned many things from this book.
The things I have learned give me the confidence to continue writing. I think maybe I can't write for ten years, but at least I will continue like this until I can't write anymore.
Because I found that, in fact, I can't do anything else except write. If I were to do other things, I guess I could only barely support myself, let alone support my whole family.
So I will work hard to write, to constantly learn, improve myself, and satisfy you.
I don't expect to be a big hit, as long as I have you by my side, I am very content.

*King of the Zone* is finished, and the story of Chen Hero has come to an end.
Then let's welcome a brand new journey.
The new book is called *Winner is King*, and it tells the story of a damned coach who constantly strives to achieve his ultimate dream. Of course, it also uses the elements from *King of the Zone*—cheats. As for what the cheat is, we'll talk about it later.
I think this story should also be very enjoyable and good-looking.
In fact, I started writing the new book in December, with various revisions and discussions. These are the preserved programs of the new book, and there is nothing to say.
Anyway, it will be uploaded at the end of January. Everyone, come and see it then, see if you like it, if it's good-looking.
I still have a little confidence, after all, I am good at describing this kind of character with extreme personality.
Also, let me reveal a small wish in advance.
Next year in March, the new book will be put on the shelves. Next year in March is also the tenth anniversary of my entry into the industry.
I have a wish, I hope everyone can help me realize it.
That is to win the first place on the new book monthly ticket list once.
I have been writing books on Qidian for ten years, and three of them have participated in the new book monthly ticket battle, but I have never won the first place. The best I have done is second.
So I thought, how about everyone working together with me to win the first place in the new book monthly ticket at that time?
I don't know which great god I will encounter as an opponent at that time, but I still want to fight.
For this goal, I will start working hard now.
At that time, please join me in fighting side by side.
I thank you in advance!
Finally, thank you for everything you have given me in *King of the Zone*, let us meet again at the end of January next year!
