Chapter 1003 A Simple Solution

Ye Chenhan, whose mood had already been hit, felt even more stifled after hearing that sentence.

He wondered what Yu Xixi was doing at the moment. He couldn't reach her by phone and she didn't reply to his messages.

Had Yu Xixi deliberately ignored him due to his neglect during this period?

Recalling the address the servant had mentioned, Ye Chenhan stepped on the accelerator and drove off.

The children sat quietly in the back seat. After what Xiao Ran had just done, they didn't dare to speak again.

The car sped up with Ye Chenhan's bad mood. The children in the back seat felt as if they were about to fly, fearfully gripping the backrests of the seats to prevent themselves from being thrown out.

Arriving at Chunxi Road, Ye Chenhan immediately spotted Yu Xixi, smiling, in a high-end restaurant across the street. His gaze shifted to the left, and he saw the man leaning beside Yu Xixi. Blood rushed to his head like a thunderclap.

With a click, he unbuckled his seatbelt, slammed the car door, and quickly left. The car keys were still in the ignition as he hurried into the restaurant across the road.

The children curiously peered out the car windows, their big, round eyes looking towards the opposite side.

"Xixi," Ye Chenhan called out intimately.

Yu Xixi was so engrossed in conversation with the person next to her that she didn't notice Ye Chenhan behind her until someone nudged her.

"Xixi, your boyfriend is here."

Yu Xixi turned around and looked at Ye Chenhan, stunned that he would appear here.

"Haven't seen me for a few days, and you don't recognize me?" Ye Chenhan walked over, disappointment evident, and familiarly placed his hand on her waist.

The man who had been talking to Yu Xixi looked at Ye Chenhan.

"Xixi's boyfriend?" he asked disbelievingly.

Being a man himself, did Ye Chenhan not understand why he asked that?

"Yes, and who is this?" Ye Chenhan retorted.

Yu Xixi realized they were meeting for the first time and quickly explained, "Chenhan, my boyfriend. Tang Ze, my university classmate."

"Just a university classmate?" Tang Ze seemed disappointed.

The nearby female classmate, not wanting to be left out of the excitement, chuckled and teased, "He's probably her male best friend. When we were at school, wherever Xixi went, Tang Ze followed. Everyone initially thought you two were a couple. It's a shame Xixi and Tang Ze both went abroad later. If they had gone to the same country, perhaps now they would be..."

As she trailed off, someone tugged the gossiping woman's arm.

Saying such things in front of someone's boyfriend was either malicious or foolish.

Yu Xixi glanced at Ye Chenhan beside her, then turned back to retort to the woman who had started the gossip, "I was close with Tang Ze in school not just because we were classmates, but also because our families know each other. My father doted on me too much and always worried I'd be bullied at school. So, before the semester started, he specifically arranged for our families to have dinner together, asking Tang Ze to look after me at school. Compared to the term 'ordinary classmate,' we're more like brother and sister, wouldn't you say?"

Tang Ze's smile looked more like a grimace than a smile. He had been thoroughly friend-zoned. He had thought that by inviting his classmates for dinner upon his return to the country, he could also take the opportunity to confess his feelings.

What a pity. He had never spoken up over the years, and perhaps the chance was lost the moment he went abroad.

"Hello, Mr. Ye," Tang Ze extended his hand generously.

Ye Chenhan calmly shook his hand.

After a brief interlude, Ye Chenhan added a stool next to Yu Xixi. Having not seen each other for a long time, they had much to talk about.

"Aren't you busy today? Why do you have time to be here?" Yu Xixi asked.

Ye Chenhan touched her hand and leaned close to her ear, "Do you believe me if I say I came to find you deliberately?"

"Looking for me?"

"I went to your house intending to surprise you. But when I got there, I learned you weren't home and had come out to attend a classmate's gathering. So I drove here, thinking I'd be able to find you in such a small place."
