The hotel was in the city center, by the sea. Ye Shaoting had arranged the presidential suite for them. One wall of the room was a floor-to-ceiling window, facing the ocean.
Ye Ziyu carried her luggage back to the room and immediately took out her phone. Seeing the missed call from Di Mingjue, she could imagine how worried he was at that moment. She called back, and heard the busy tone again.
Her eyelids twitched uneasily. The phone still wouldn't connect, and Ye Ziyu had a feeling something was about to happen.
"Ziyu, have you finished unpacking?" Ye Chenhan asked from the balcony of the adjacent room.
It had been almost ten hours since breakfast. Ye Chenhan disliked being on planes, and as soon as he landed, he wanted to eat delicious food to reward his troubled stomach.
Ye Ziyu glanced at her phone and decided not to try contacting Di Mingjue again for now. She walked onto the balcony and looked at Ye Chenhan opposite her. "Mm."
"Let's go. I just heard from Cheng Hai that there's a very famous seafood restaurant nearby. It's ranked first for tourist check-ins," Ye Chenhan said, rushing out. He didn't wait to see if Ye Ziyu agreed, and went straight to her room.
The air by the sea was very humid, and Ye Ziyu felt a bit cold outside. She took a light jacket from her suitcase and followed Ye Chenhan out of the hotel.
The place Cheng Hai mentioned wasn't far from the hotel. They walked for fifteen minutes and arrived.
Upon reaching their destination, both of them were stunned. They exchanged glances and said in unison, "The business is really booming!"
"Cheng Hai really didn't lie to me; there are so many people checking into this place," Ye Chenhan remarked.
They couldn't see the entrance of the restaurant, only a long line of people. Everyone was well-behaved, standing close to the wall, careful not to obstruct passing pedestrians.
Ye Ziyu looked at the densely packed crowd and couldn't help but ask, "Are you sure you want to wait?"
Estimating the number of people in line, she figured it would be dark by the time it was their turn. There was also the possibility that by the time they got to the front, the restaurant would run out of ingredients.
Ye Chenhan had a naturally rebellious streak; the more impossible something seemed, the more determined he was to do it.
"Ziyu, you wait here. I'll go to the front and take a look."
With that, Ye Chenhan turned and walked towards the restaurant without looking back.
Seeing his excited demeanor, Ye Ziyu could only stand there and wait obediently.
Before long, Ye Chenhan came running back, beaming.
"Guess who I ran into?"
"Your friend?"
Ye Chenhan shook his head mysteriously. "Guess again."
The scope was too broad; how could she guess?
"I really can't guess, just tell me," she said.
"Gu Xiuyu," Ye Chenhan exclaimed excitedly. "Didn't expect that, did you? As soon as I walked forward, I was planning to find you a stool to sit and wait. Who knew I'd see Gu Xiuyu? They were also coming to this restaurant, and they had just reached their spot in line."
Seeing how excited he was, Ye Ziyu guessed that Gu Xiuyu had invited him to dine with them.
"We don't have to wait anymore. He's waiting for us inside," Ye Chenhan said, taking Ye Ziyu's arm and leading her out of the line.
It was good not to have to wait, otherwise, they would have spent the entire afternoon here doing nothing.
Upon entering the restaurant, Ye Ziyu immediately saw Gu Xiuyu. Beside him were a man and a woman, who appeared to be his employees.
"Ziyu, Chenhan, over here," Gu Xiuyu waved at them.
"Let's go over quickly," Ye Chenhan placed his hand behind Ye Ziyu, guiding her through the tables to Gu Xiuyu.
Gu Xiuyu pulled out a chair for Ye Ziyu.
The seafood restaurant was a simple, ordinary place. The tables were placed very close to each other, and the entire restaurant was filled with laughter and chatter.
