"Mr. Gu, please sit down," Ye Shaoting said, breaking the awkward silence.
Gu Xiuyu bowed and sat down, watching a servant emerge from the kitchen with a tea set.
"Mr. Gu looks very familiar," Shen Meixiu said after a moment of observation.
She had a vague feeling she'd seen him somewhere, but couldn't quite place it.
Gu Xiuyu had no recollection of meeting Shen Meixiu. He modestly replied, "Perhaps at some banquets. After returning to the country, I accompanied my father to a few."
