The children saw Di Mingjue was better and rushed over.
"Daddy, the pirate ship is starting!" Xiaoran grabbed Di Mingjue's hand and pulled him forward.
Looking up at the giant ship swaying left and right, Di Mingjue felt dizzy just by looking at it.
"Daddy, hurry, or we'll have to wait a long time if we don't get a spot soon," Xiaoran urged.
Ye Ziyu watched quietly from the side, not intending to speak up for Di Mingjue.
It wasn't that the children's opinions were more important than his well-being, but if he stuck to his decision, he would spend quality time playing exciting games with them.
Di Mingjue's mouth watered. He made a swallowing motion and, with an internal struggle, pulled his hand away from Xiaoran.
"Daddy?" Xiaoran looked at him in surprise.
"I can't ride the pirate ship. You go ahead by yourself. Daddy believes in you," Di Mingjue said encouragingly.
It wasn't that he didn't want to go, but he felt too unwell.
Xiaoran saw the pirate ship had stopped. People were disembarking, and those below were queuing to get on. He didn't have time to pull Di Mingjue along and, taking Yuzhe with him, he hurried to join the queue.
With Xiaoran gone, Di Mingjue breathed a sigh of relief.
"Why aren't you accompanying him anymore?" Ye Ziyu asked deliberately.
Teasing was fine; it was a hundred times better than breaking out in a cold sweat and vomiting uncontrollably. Moreover, he had just seen Xiaoran's reaction, which wasn't as dramatic as he had imagined.
It seemed Ye Ziyu was right; it was all in his mind.
Di Mingjue held Qianqian in one arm and put his other arm around Ye Ziyu's waist. "After accompanying my son, I also need to accompany my daughter and wife."
"Hmph, smooth talker!" Ye Ziyu gave him a dismissive look.
Qianqian, in his arms, was a true heir to Ye Ziyu's ways. With a soft hum, she imitated Ye Ziyu's expression.
Di Mingjue was amused by the proud demeanor of the two females.
So, the mother and daughter were forming an alliance?
"Is my love being disliked?" Di Mingjue asked with a hint of grievance.
Children were still children. Ye Ziyu could see through his little intentions, and Qianqian, worried he might be unhappy, cupped his face and kissed him. It was as if a kiss could genuinely convey her affection.
Di Mingjue blinked, then leaned his face towards Ye Ziyu. "And yours?"
With people all around, Ye Ziyu saw his gesture of seeking a kiss. She raised her hand and pressed her palm against his face, pushing it back.
"My daughter is the best, Dad's little thoughtful darling." Di Mingjue rubbed his chin against Qianqian's cheek.
The faint stubble tickled Qianqian, making her squirm backward.
Di Mingjue's fear of heights led them to rearrange their original queues. Ye Ziyu and Di Mingjue accompanied Qianqian on gentler rides, while Xiaoran took Yuzhe on various thrilling and adventurous attractions.
Yuzhe was also afraid, but he wanted to make up for all the experiences he had missed due to his illness.
They played until it was dark, and the family of five had a casual meal at a restaurant near the amusement park. By the time they returned to the Ye residence, it was very late.
"Mommy, I want to go to the amusement park again next week."
"Me too."
Walking in the yard, Qianqian and Xiaoran were already making plans with Ye Ziyu for the following week.
Ye Ziyu didn't have a habit of making advance promises. She said to them earnestly, "There's still a long way to next week. If I promise you now, and then have to cancel the outing at the last minute due to company matters, won't you be as upset as you were this week?"
The children understood the logic, but they still wanted Ye Ziyu to promise them. This way, when she was busy and couldn't attend to them, the promise would become a guiding thought.
Di Mingjue parked the car and caught up with their pace. He had overheard some of it. Unlike Ye Ziyu, he readily agreed, "Okay, Mommy and I will take you out to play every weekend."
"You!" Ye Ziyu shot him a displeased glare.
