Her goal was clear: to win him over, and she was determined.
Leaving the Jiang residence, Jiang Feifei contacted Di Dongsheng by phone. Upon learning he had arrived, she urged her driver to accelerate.
Half an hour later, she appeared at the agreed-upon location.
Led by a waiter, she was shown to a private room.
"I apologize for keeping you waiting; there was some traffic on the way," Jiang Feifei said apologetically.
Di Dongsheng did not seem to mind. He gestured to a booth opposite him, inviting her to sit.
Seeing his reaction, Jiang Feifei was delighted.
The traffic jam was an excuse. She simply wanted to gauge Di Dongsheng's patience with her. By understanding his emotions, she could control the situation.
"I heard Di Mingjue adamantly refused to cooperate with the Jiang Corporation," Jiang Feifei inquired, seemingly casually.
Before she left, Jiang Wenbin had instructed her to secure Di Dongsheng and, at the same time, to ask about the commencement of their cooperation.
While the Jiang Corporation appeared to be improving on the surface recently, its actual situation was becoming increasingly dire.
For reasons unknown, the newly established Zy Group was targeting them at every turn.
"Yes, the cooperation will need to wait a while longer," Di Dongsheng replied. "However, it's not impossible to expedite the cooperation, but..."
He paused, creating suspense.
As long as she could align herself with the Di Jue Group, she was willing to do anything.
Jiang Feifei pressed, "But what? Please speak your mind, Mr. Di."
"I need to obtain the controlling interest in the Xingyun project."
Upon hearing about the project, Jiang Feifei immediately agreed, "Of course."
If he didn't mind, she would even cede control of the Jiang Corporation to him.
Di Dongsheng had come prepared. He produced a contract from behind him and placed it, along with a pen, before Jiang Feifei.
Having no understanding of company affairs, Jiang Feifei touched the pen and, with a couple of swift strokes, signed her name.
Once he had the contract, Di Dongsheng paid Jiang Feifei no further attention. His attitude shifted one hundred and eighty degrees. He placed a card on the table, uttered a few words, and left the private room.
By the time Jiang Feifei walked out of the coffee shop, she was only just coming to her senses.
Disaster!
She had signed the documents, and Di Dongsheng had taken what he wanted from her, yet she had gained absolutely nothing.
If Di Dongsheng seized the Xingyun project and refused to cooperate with the Jiang Corporation, wouldn't she have lost both the battle and the war?
Jiang Feifei dared not contemplate the severity of the consequences. Without a moment's delay, she pulled out her phone to contact Di Dongsheng, who had just left.
The call went through to a busy signal. After several attempts, the response remained the same.
Growing increasingly anxious, Jiang Feifei rushed to the roadside and hailed a passing car.
Di Dongsheng, clutching the documents, went to find his Third Uncle.
Just as Di Mingjue was indifferent to his Third Uncle, Di Dongsheng went to great lengths to appease him. Through his persistent efforts, his Third Uncle came to accept him and agreed to help him reclaim the position of family patriarch from Di Mingjue.
The sole condition was to gain control of Xingyun.
Unaware of Di Dongsheng's whereabouts, Jiang Feifei took a taxi to the Di Jue Group.
Having not made an appointment in advance, Jiang Feifei was unable to enter the company. Despite the obstruction of the security guards at the entrance, she stood under the scorching sun, anxiously and restlessly dialing Di Dongsheng's phone.
As usual, Jiang Ziyu arrived at the company with her lunchbox. From a distance, she spotted Jiang Feifei standing at the entrance through the car window.
The Di Jue Group was in a state of alert because of her, yet she still dared to show up here.
However, observing her uneasy demeanor and her prolonged inaction at the entrance, Jiang Ziyu discerned the problem.
"What's wrong? Di Dongsheng is ignoring you?"
Jiang Feifei looked up to see Jiang Ziyu staring at her with a mocking expression.
Guiltily closing her phone screen, she stubbornly retorted, "You're overthinking it."
"Is that so?" Jiang Ziyu sounded doubtful.
Jiang Feifei was preoccupied with her worries. Di Dongsheng not answering her calls had already put her on edge, and now with Jiang Ziyu standing before her, her entire mental state became agitated.
"You should worry about yourself. In a few more days, you won't be Mrs. Di anymore."
