Chapter 342 Night Operation

Seeing her insistence, Di Mingjue could only nod in agreement.

In the empty hospital room, Jiang Ziyu tried to get off the bed. The bandage around her chest made her give up as soon as she moved.

Lying back down, she stared blankly out the window.

The door to the ward was pushed open, and Jiang Ziyu instantly looked at the doorknob with alert eyes.

With a creak, the door opened a sliver, and a dark hem of clothing first entered her line of sight.

"Liangchen?" Jiang Ziyu asked tentatively.

The door opened and quickly closed again. Mu Liangchen removed his baseball cap.

"Why are you here?" Jiang Ziyu asked, surprised. At first, she thought it was someone sent by Wu Xuerou.

Mu Liangchen locked the door and quickly came to the bedside. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm okay, it's just that moving pulls on the wound on my chest," Jiang Ziyu replied with a wry smile.

With time pressing, they exchanged a few brief pleasantries. Mu Liangchen informed her about Xiaoran and Yuze's situation, then told her about Jiang Feifei's planned scheme.

Learning that they had not given up yet, Jiang Ziyu found it rather amusing.

"We have people both inside and outside the hospital. If she dares to cause trouble, our people will apprehend her on the spot," Mu Liangchen said.

Jiang Ziyu glanced at him and replied casually, "It's just a dying struggle, don't worry."

As long as they dared to appear, the Jiang Corporation and their family of three would be thoroughly disgraced in the capital, leaving them no chance to survive.

Fearing Di Mingjue's return, Mu Liangchen communicated with Jiang Ziyu and then left.

Before leaving, he specifically met with the men in black arranged to protect Jiang Ziyu at the hospital.

The hospital was deserted at night, and the smell of disinfectant in the air was depressing.

Having rested for too long after the surgery, Jiang Ziyu was exceptionally alert. She found the ward lights too glaring, so she turned them off and stared at the ceiling with a heavy heart.

Light footsteps sounded outside the door. Seeing the footsteps stop outside the ward, Jiang Ziyu saw a shadow through the glass in the door.

The doorknob jiggled. Jiang Ziyu immediately pulled the quilt up to cover the lower half of her face.

The person outside tiptoed in, and a gust of cold wind entered the room with them.

Holding her breath, Jiang Ziyu keenly felt the other person approaching her.

A large palm landed on the quilt. Before the person could pull the quilt up, Jiang Ziyu grabbed their wrist.

Realizing she had been discovered, the other person swung their other hand down at her. With an injury to her chest, Jiang Ziyu couldn't attack or dodge perfectly.

She freed a hand and turned on the light, and the person in front of her was immediately exposed in the light. The man was dressed tightly from head to toe, and Jiang Ziyu couldn't see his face clearly.

The man subconsciously reached for the mask on his face and turned to leave.

Seeing this, Jiang Ziyu endured the intense pain in her chest and knelt on the mattress. Her body lunged forward, and just as her nails brushed against the surface of the man's mask, an arm from the side pushed her to the ground.

Her injury hampered her movements, and she could only watch helplessly as the person escaped the ward. However, with her people surrounding the hospital, entering was easy, but leaving would be difficult.

Jiang Ziyu took out the alarm device Mu Liangchen had given her from under the pillow and pressed the button. The black-clad guards protecting her instantly received the message.

The seemingly peaceful hospital was actually filled with hidden currents. Underneath the silent actions, Mu Liangchen's stationed personnel had sealed off the hospital's exterior. Not even a fly could escape.

Blood had already seeped through her clothes. Jiang Ziyu was in so much pain that large drops of cold sweat trickled down her face. By the time the doctor, alerted by the emergency bell, arrived, she had already fainted from the pain by the bedside.

"What's going on?" Di Mingjue asked, watching the nurse hurry out of the ward. He then noticed that Jiang Ziyu was no longer in the room.

The nurse was rushing to the operating room and dared not provoke Di Mingjue. "Madam Di's wound has split open and needs to be redressed."
