Chapter 387 Recounting the Demands

"Ziyu, what's wrong?" Mu Liangchen asked, his voice filled with concern as he entered the room.

It was past four in the morning. She should have been resting at the Di residence, not appearing at his place in such a distressed state!

To prevent any accidents, Mu Liangchen turned on the lights and then drew all the curtains in the room.

"I've made up my mind. Everything stays as planned. Once Di Mingjue agrees to donate a kidney for Yuze, we'll return abroad," Jiang Ziyu said abruptly.

Mu Liangchen was confused. Wasn't she talking about their existing plan? Had something changed?

"Alright," he nodded. "Is there anything I need to do?"

Jiang Ziyu shook her head.

Silence fell in the room. Even Mu Liangchen could tell something was amiss.

It seemed to be related to Di Mingjue!

Without asking further questions, Mu Liangchen prepared a guest room and led her to it to rest.

...

The next day.

Di Mingjue, clutching his phone, waited agonizingly for a response.

Jiang Ziyu, who had left the company the night before, had vanished from his world as if she never existed. There was no news, and she was unreachable.

Shen Lin, with dark circles under his eyes, reported to Di Mingjue with a helpless expression.

The people they had sent out also couldn't locate Jiang Ziyu.

"Search, keep searching. Even if you have to turn the place upside down, find her," Di Mingjue commanded furiously.

Whether she was angry with him or disliked him, his greatest fear was Jiang Ziyu leaving without a word. If she was truly determined to hide, it would be difficult for them to find her.

As soon as Shen Lin left, Di Mingjue's phone rang.

"Ziyu?"

The call was connected instantly. Jiang Ziyu hesitated for a second before saying into the phone, "Let's talk."

"Okay, where are you? I'll come find you," Di Mingjue asked urgently.

Glancing at the layout of the ornaments behind her, Jiang Ziyu refused. "Let's just talk on the phone."

Face-to-face, she would have no advantage.

A bad feeling flickered through him. Di Mingjue, holding his phone, gritted his teeth and slowly asked, "What do you want to talk about?"

"Let's separate."

"Impossible."

Before Jiang Ziyu could finish, Di Mingjue immediately refused.

He could agree to any of her requests, but this one was out of the question.

Di Mingjue gripped his phone, his face tense. "What happened last night wasn't what you saw. Nothing happened between her and me."

"I know," Jiang Ziyu replied. "I'm just too tired. Mingjue, you're excellent, and there are always women pursuing you. I can completely trust that you won't betray me, but you can't guarantee that those women won't do things that hurt me. You know what happened in my family, and you should understand me."

She had thought of spending her life with Yuze and Xiao Ran. If she were to marry, she wished for a simple life, one without people scheming to interfere. She wouldn't have to live in constant fear, dreading seeing photos and provocative messages from various women.

"We're not compatible. Before it's too late to let go, please grant me this."

Her voice was filled with a plea. Something seemed to be draining away from Di Mingjue.

"Can we really not be together?" Di Mingjue asked forlornly.

Jiang Ziyu's confirmation was the reply.

A long silence followed the call. Di Mingjue reluctantly agreed.

One couldn't be selfish. He knew that if he refused, Jiang Ziyu would never appear before him again.

"I have a request."

Only after Di Mingjue agreed did Jiang Ziyu speak.

Di Mingjue's eyes lit up, and he quickly asked, "What is it?"

"I will find a way to cure your legs, and I hope you will donate a kidney to me."

"My kidney?"

"Yes, a friend's child needs a kidney transplant, and you happen to be a match."
