Under Shen Lin's support, Di Mingyue appeared before the wooden house.
Di Minghao scanned him with contemptuous eyes. "I thought you were truly cold-blooded and heartless, indifferent to the fate of that mother and daughter inside!"
"Speak, what exactly do you want?" Di Mingyue's tone was as usual, cool and detached.
Seeing his calm demeanor, Di Minghao's dissatisfaction grew. He unzipped his chest, revealing a timer on his waist flashing red. "It's simple. Let me return to Di Jue Group, apologize to me in public, and compensate me two hundred million for emotional distress."
A public apology?
He actually dared to ask for that!
Inside the house, Jiang Ziyu listened to the conversation outside, finding it hard to imagine anyone saying such foolish words.
"Alright, but you must release them first," Di Mingyue said.
His straightforward agreement made Di Minghao falter for a moment.
"Do you take me for a fool?" Di Minghao sneered. "Release them, and you'll offer me an apology and compensation?"
Di Mingyue tilted his head, looking at Shen Lin, and instructed, "Contact the reporters. We'll hold a press conference this afternoon. Also, have the company prepare two hundred million to be transferred to his account."
Shen Lin looked at Di Mingyue, seeming to understand something. He nodded and turned to leave.
"Wait!" Di Minghao called out to stop him. "Do all this within my sight."
Shen Lin hesitated, looking at Di Mingyue.
Before the rescue arrived, Di Mingyue agreed to anything he asked.
After the two phone calls, Di Minghao became smug. He lazily circled Di Mingyue, shamelessly taunting, "I thought you could cover the sky with one hand, but I didn't expect you'd have to lower your lofty stance to appease me in the end. If I had known things would turn out this way, why did you act so heartlessly? What a pity for your wife and child, caught up because of your arrogance."
Di Mingyue didn't respond to anything Di Minghao said. Believing he had suppressed Di Mingyue's aura, Di Minghao grew even more pleased.
His lips moved, his voice echoing around the wooden house alone.
"Mommy, is Daddy really going to give the bad uncle so much money?" Yuze asked softly.
Jiang Ziyu was also unsure about this question.
She tilted her head, pressing it against Yuze. "Your Daddy is very capable. He'll definitely be able to bring you home safely."
"But I'm worried he'll get hurt," Yuze said, concerned about Di Mingyue outside.
They had finally found their Daddy. He didn't want his trust in a bad person to cause him harm.
Yuze showed his worries. Jiang Ziyu, with a pained expression, lifted her hand from the ropes. "He won't. Mommy is here too. Don't you believe in Mommy's abilities?"
Saying that, she turned and pulled the small figure of Yuze into her embrace.
As time ticked by, Di Minghao gradually lost patience. He looked at his watch, his face contorting with rage as he grabbed Di Mingyue's collar. "Are you f\*\*\*ing playing with me? Half an hour has passed, is it that hard for the company to transfer funds?"
Seeing this, Shen Lin stepped forward to intervene.
Di Mingyue's hands hung at his sides, and he half-raised a forearm to restrain Shen Lin. His blurred vision met Di Minghao's, and after a long pause, he said, "Two hundred million isn't two dollars. If you don't believe me, why don't you call the company and ask?"
The hand gripping his collar slowly loosened. Di Minghao looked at him with half-belief. "You'd better not be playing any tricks, or today will be the anniversary of your family of three's death."
He picked up his phone to contact his company employees.
Shen Lin anxiously glanced at the real-time GPS on his phone, seeing two red dots approaching each other, his heart pounding in his throat.
Di Minghao's call was answered. While observing Di Mingyue's reaction, he questioned the employee on the other end.
Hearing the reply, he let go of his suspicions and his guard.
