Chapter 121: Each other’s company

Chapter 121: Each other’s company

Hiroshi woke up in his favourite sleeping position, with at least one of Haruki’s limbs over his body. It was the most beautiful position to wake in. A big smile appeared on his face as he turned to the man sleeping beside him.

He gently moved Haruki’s hand from his chest and placed a pillow underneath when he noticed Haruki steering a bit in his sleep. He sat on the bed and brushed Haruki’s bed hair backwards gently in little strokes not strong enough to wake him up.

Beautiful. That word replayed in his mind as his gaze fixed on the man sleeping peacefully. Haruki was the most beautiful being he had ever seen and he wished he could keep him for himself but that thought was extinguished as soon as it came.

He had resumed work. After being a month away from work, he knew there would be a lot for him to do when he got there and being late was not an option. Just as he stood, the alarm clock began vibrating.

He was quick to turn it off but not quick enough as Haruki had opened his eyes and looked at him with a bit of confusion in his hazy black eyes. He was mesmerised by the sight before him.

A man like Haruki had woken up in his room and didn’t even show any sign of alertness once he had noticed them when they first got together. He leaned closer to Haruki and left a small smacking kiss on his lips.

He licked his lips when he pulled away although his gaze still remained fixed on Haruki. Haruki shook his head slightly before turning his head away from the doctor and continuing to sleep. Seeing the man go back to sleep, Hiroshi sighed satisfied that he hadn’t completely disturbed the man’s rest.

Before he left the room, he turned off the alarm clock and carried out with him. Since he barely needed that noise waking him up in the morning even after weeks away from his schedule, he made up his mind to dispose of the noisy item.

Breakfast prep was pretty easy as he didn’t go for something too hard after all he still had meat left from last night’s dinner. He added some rice and vegetables and served it in bowls. He left them covered to take his bath.

The doorbell rang noisily. Haruki tried to ignore it when he woke up as he felt the owner of the house should get the door but when the person rang the doorbell again, Haruki rose and stretched.

It was his assistant, Kiyoshi. Haruki opened the door for him and walked to the sofa and sat down rubbing his face lightly. When Kiyoshi came to him, he could not hold back a glare at the man.

"I brought these things," Kiyoshi said after bowing and greeting Haruki whom he didn’t bother to respond to.

"Keep them somewhere." Haruki rose up after barely glancing at the things Kiyoshi brought for him. He nodded bored when Kiyoshi told him that the basement floor would be waiting for him. Haruki returned to the bed and covered himself in the covers unwilling to stand up again.

Haruki was asleep when he came out fully dressed. He glanced at his phone to confirm the time and he was forced to walk to Haruki’s sleeping form. He touched the man’s back lightly rubbing his back through the thin fabric of the pyjama shirt.

He heard Haruki’s breathing become a bit uneven before Haruki turned to look at him and gave him a questioning look. He knew the man was asking him why he was disturbing his rest.

Feeling that he didn’t have the right to help the man keep to time, he shook his head wearing a warm small smile and reached to touch Haruki’s head.

He touched the gentle waves of the man’s hair and brushed them backwards before leaning down to kiss him. "I made breakfast," he whispered leaning close to Haruki’s ear his warm breath gently caressing the skin.

"Okay."

Knowing he had lost a lot of valuable time, Hiroshi decided to set his plan in motion. He whispered naturally after kissing Haruki’s cheeks, "Can I drive you back from work today?"

Haruki was silent for a few seconds as though the question Hiroshi asked was too absurd to get a response from him but he later nodded as he responded, "Okay."

Hiroshi wondered if Haruki truly understood his question and he wanted to ask for confirmation but he knew he might lose the opportunity he just got if he asked again so he decided to take Haruki’s response for what it was.

"I will eat first." Hiroshi forcefully pushed his body off the bed as much as he wanted to lie on the sheets with Haruki. He ate his breakfast cleaned up and returned to the room to get some of his things. He left the room after leaving small kisses on Haruki’s face.

He whispered the time to Haruki and told him he was leaving before leaving to work as much as he wished he could resign from work. It was the work that brought him close to Haruki.

He didn’t hate the job even though he was not particularly in love with it either but the work could be the only place he gets to meet Haruki if his plans fail. They would later that night but if he could, he would have preferred to spend the whole day with Haruki, no, his whole life.

Driving Haruki back from work was what Hiroshi did for the whole week and since he was driving the man, from the first day, he never bothered asking Haruki where he wanted to go, he just drove back home.

It was daring at first but since Haruki didn’t object, it continued that way for the whole week and it was finally the week once again.

The days went by too fast. He did so many new and old things with Haruki like teaching Haruki about how to feed the fish and cooking his every meal and ordering groceries based on what Haruki wanted to eat and so much more.

Every morning, Kiyoshi brought Haruki’s clothes, shoes and watches and took Haruki to work after Hiroshi left for work. They hugged, kissed, and touched until they felt strained in the pants but one of them always pulled away for one futile reason or the other.

They were hungry for each other but neither of them was willing to unwrap themselves to have a taste. It was as though they were playing a game to know who missed the most and neither of them wanted to lose. Whenever one starts physical intimacy then he isn’t willing to continue not to lose the game.

For Hiroshi, he didn’t feel as though he was losing the game at all after all, this was proof that Haruki didn’t need him for something physical alone. They enjoyed each other’s company and although Hiroshi felt he was delusional, he felt he had become a bit difficult to replace.

The voice warning him of his delusion also made him wonder if Haruki found someone else or had someone else he was intimate with that he didn’t bother going that far with him.

His insecurities threatened to ruin the joy he got from all those beautiful moments but he was quick to dismiss that thought every time they came.

Haruki owned so many homes globally but he chose to share the same bed with him for more days than he could imagine. That was too great a gift to be drowned in his insecurities. So he shut off that thought and locked it up never to see the light of day. He knew he had no right to.
