Han Jitong clenched his fists and looked back at Feng Qing'er at the door.
Feng Qing'er was still standing there, looking up at the sky, her eyes devoid of any light, as if all of this had nothing to do with her.
She was just waiting, waiting for the arrival of that final day.
"I will persuade her. Give me some time," Han Jitong took a deep breath and said firmly, "I will definitely make her live."
Su Yunmo felt this would be difficult but did not discourage him, "Hurry, her illness cannot be delayed any longer."
"Alright," Han Jitong nodded.
Su Yunmo sighed and tried to carry the medicine box out.
Seeing the medicine box hit her ankle with every step, Han Jitong couldn't help but say, "Let me send someone to take you back."
It had been almost half a year since she came to the capital, how could she not have grown at all?
Su Yunmo looked down at her short legs, "That works too."
Han Jitong ordered a carriage to be prepared.
Su Yunmo did not return to her residence but went to the palace.
She hadn't seen Consort Liang for a long time, and she wondered how her illness was progressing.
Su Yunmo put the medicine box into a glazed lock and entered the cold palace.
Upon entering, she saw Qian Xue standing at the door. Only Consort Liang was inside.
"My master isn't here?" Su Yunmo, with her short legs, rushed to the bed, "Consort Liang, Momo is here to see you~"
Qian Xue took a while to realize who she meant by "master" and said with a wry smile, "Our Lord was summoned by the Empress when he first entered the palace. He probably won't be here for a while."
"Momo~" Consort Liang happily hugged the little dumpling, rubbing her face several times, then pushed all the snacks piled beside her towards Su Yunmo.
"I saved them for Momo, eat up."
There were many kinds of snacks, some had even gone bad but were not thrown away, they must have been saved for a long time.
Su Yunmo took a new one and put it in her mouth, "The Empress? Has her confinement been lifted?"
It didn't seem to be time yet.
Qian Xue: "It's almost the New Year, and there are many matters in the harem. Consort Qin couldn't handle it all, so the Empress Dowager issued a special imperial decree to release the Empress."
Su Yunmo pouted.
With Luo Yun'e released and Consort Qin having fewer tasks, others would have more.
"Is it delicious?" Consort Liang stroked Su Yunmo's hair, her eyes full of doting.
"Delicious," Su Yunmo smiled, her eyes curved, and she inadvertently felt Consort Liang's pulse.
Her condition had improved significantly, and she would fully recover her memory in another ten days to half a month.
"Your Lord is really something. Every time he brings something, it's just snacks that don't keep. Can't he find some other good food?" Even though Su Yunmo loved eating, she was starting to feel overwhelmed after a while.
"You're not satisfied with food, what a picky child," Ye Jingyu strode in from outside, his expression somewhat grim, his face clearly showing displeasure.
Su Yunmo raised her eyebrows and swung her short legs with interest, "Did you get upset outside again? Tell me about it."
She had been feeling bored herself these past few days, and listening to some gossip might help relieve it.
Before Ye Jingyu could speak, a charming, drawn-out voice called out from outside.
"Your Highness Prince Yu~ Wait for me~"
Su Yunmo shivered violently and burrowed into Consort Liang's quilt.
Consort Liang held her hand, breathed on it to warm it, and looked displeasantly towards the door.
A woman in a pink long dress and a pale green shawl walked in, swaying with each step.
Her chest was high, her hips were round, her waist was impossibly slender, and her face was full of allure. A single glance seemed to draw out a thread of charm.
Upon entering, the woman scanned the room and finally fixed her gaze on Ye Jingyu, "No wonder Your Highness left in such a hurry. So you wanted to see Consort Liang. You are truly filial."
Ye Jingyu's face instantly darkened several shades.
Su Yunmo smacked her lips and poked her head out of the quilt.
Well, the entertainment had arrived.
"Do you need something?" Ye Jingyu's face remained impassive, his tone very indifferent.
Qin Mingyan's gaze swept across the head of the bed. The moment she spotted Su Yunmo, her eyebrows shot up, but she quickly regained her composure.
"This humble subject is here on the Empress's orders to attend to Consort Liang."
Ye Jingyu glanced at her, "Oh? I was just in the Empress's palace, why didn't I hear of this?"
Qin Mingyan: "Her Ladyship said it after you left."
Qian Xue couldn't help but roll her eyes.
What a poorly constructed lie.
Even if the Empress wanted to scheme against their Lord, she wouldn't send a mere subject to the cold palace to attend to a deposed consort for no reason.
It was improper and would cause a scandal if it got out.
Ye Jingyu did not look at her, "No need. Servants can handle such matters."
"Servants can do some things, but some of the Consort's private matters might not be handled well. It requires someone close to attend to her," she said, taking two steps closer to Ye Jingyu, emphasizing the word "close."
It was as if the Empress had sent her not to attend to Consort Liang, but to Ye Jingyu.
"I don't need you to attend to me. Leave," the person on the bed suddenly spoke.
Everyone turned to look at Consort Liang. She sat up straight, a moment of nobility emanating from her.
Ye Jingyu tensed.
Although the medicine had been working for a long time, and his mother's condition was visibly improving, this was the first time she had spoken so clearly and rationally to someone.
Su Yunmo, however, was not surprised. She knew exactly when the patient would recover and to what extent.
Qin Mingyan paused, looking somewhat surprised, "Are you speaking to me, Consort?"
Hadn't they said Consort Liang was mad? She didn't seem like it.
Consort Liang sized her up, "Is there anyone else in this room who needs to leave?"
She found the pretense annoying, it was even making Momo unhappy.
Ye Jingyu chuckled softly.
Given his mother's original personality, she wouldn't say such things. Had she been spending too much time with the little one?
Qin Mingyan's smile faltered for a moment.
Consort Liang didn't want to bother with her and offered another snack to Su Yunmo, "Momo, be good, open your mouth, ah~"
The little dumpling obediently opened her mouth, took a bite, and chewed with her cheeks puffed out like a little hamster.
Consort Liang gazed at her with doting eyes, occasionally wiping away snack crumbs from her mouth, showing great affection.
Qin Mingyan felt displeased, "Consort, this humble subject was appointed by the Empress to care for you. Please do not associate with such a dirty child. It truly damages Prince Yu's reputation."
She had never seen this child before. Was she the illegitimate daughter of some palace maid? Or a new servant sent from another palace?
She was so ill-mannered. She had been here for so long and hadn't even come to pay respects?
She would be Prince Yu's consort in the future.
The little dumpling's chewing paused, and she slowly turned her gaze, "Are you calling Momo a dirty child?"
"If not you, then who? Is there another little girl in this room?" Qin Mingyan said disdainfully.
The room fell silent at her words.
Qian Xue glanced at the expressions of the various masters and silently mourned for Qin Mingyan.
