Chapter 360: The Realms of Power

Chapter 360: The Realms of Power

’Next time I want to be strong enough to take on an entire world if I want to.’

Jason’s brow furrowed in anger as this thought ran through his head, and he made up his mind that he was going to get even more serious with his training. Jason already decided that he would be taking Runes seriously, so he was going to also focus on ways he could either increase his power or make his skills and subordinates stronger, and he was also going to start going into Gates more often to try and gain stronger subordinates. The lower gates, like Red and Orange, were useless to him, so Jason would prioritize going into the Yellow and Green gates so he could gain more subordinates that were in Rook Rank or above!

Jason nodded to that decision, and he concentrated on the dead bodies inside his Alternate Dimension and spoke in an authoritative voice.

"Resurrect."

Jason felt his mana surge into the Alternate Dimension, and at the next moment, the souls began to rise from the bodies!

Jason nodded once he was done reading through the new stats that he had gotten. Jason’s mana was what received the highest boost out of all his stats, and he smiled when he saw that he had finally crossed into the two-million mark. Jason could feel how much denser his mana now was. Even though the system showed that Jason had close to three million mana points, Jason felt like his mana had become a lot heavier rather than it just being larger in volume. With the way his powers were now, Jason knew that he would be able to use far less mana in activating skills, and he would also be able to exert a lot more pressure when he was using his mana for resurrections or intimidation.

’I should also be able to activate more complex runes. The rune foundations need to be flooded with powerful mana for them to activate, so if you want to activate a high-level Rune, then you would need to fill it with more powerful mana.’

Jason tightened his hand into a fist to fully appreciate the power flowing through him, and he finally looked back at the system to see how he had grown.

The user has successfully completed the fourth Milestone in the Rook Class Unique Skill Tree.

——

Unique Skill Tree

[Rook Class]

[Milestone 1: Gain 1 Rook Class Subordinate]

-> 30% Boost in stats relative to the stats of the subordinates.

-> 500% Boost in durability to subordinates in the [Rook Class].

-> Unlock the Unique Skill [Linear Charge]

[Milestone 2: Gain 10 Rook Class Subordinates]

-> King’s Substitute: This allows the user to switch places [Castle] with any Rook Class subordinate outside his Alternate Dimension. Each use of this technique will consume [10 x [Distance in miles]] MP.

[Milestone 3: Gain 50 Rook Class Subordinates]

-> Kamikaze: This grants all the Rooks the unique ability to release four blasts of mana in a cross pattern around them to take out surrounding enemies. The damage done by this blast is [10x] higher than the Rook’s maximum damage output, and it will lead to the death of the sacrificed Rook. Once sacrificed, it will take [1] hour to resurrect the dead Rook.

[Milestone 4: Gain 300 Rook Class Subordinates]

-> The Great Wall: This grants the Rooks the ability to form a towering stone wall from their mana, which can serve as a defensive or strategic vantage point for the user. All damage done to the Rook is reduced by 90% while in this state, and in order to maintain the wall, the Rook must remain stationary.

[Milestone 5: Gain 3000 Rook Class Subordinates]

-> ???

——

Jason was shocked when he saw the new Rook Class Unique Skill he just got! Jason had already been thinking of ways to try to improve his defenses all this time! The [Stonewall] skill that the Pawns had was a good defensive skill, but it wasn’t practical because the subordinates were still Pawns, and their strength could never be that impressive, no matter how much you tried to multiply it. But now that Jason had an actual defensive wall that could allow him to form a vantage point while also reducing the damage he takes, he would be able to fight battles a lot faster! Jason smiled as he closed down the milestone tab, and he looked toward his stats again.

’I wonder what rank comes after SSS.’

This thought passed through Jason’s mind, and the system immediately responded with a prompt.

[The SSS Rank is the last rank in a unique sequence of power levels known as the ’Mortal Ranks’. Across the Primordial Expanse, these ranks are treated as the most commonly achieved ranks amongst mortals, and passing these ranks would cement a mage as something beyond a mere mortal. After crossing the SSS Rank, the user will enter the rank of the Titans. There are three Ranks in this power level, and only after crossing through the realm of the Titans will a mage finally reach the realm of the Primordials.]

Jason hummed as he read through this. So, everyone in the Primordial Expanse used this classification system? Was that why the Primordials were feared so much? If there was an entire classification system between the mortals and the Primordials, then Jason knew that there was not a single mortal in the Primordial Expanse that would be capable of even touching the Primordials. But Jason was curious about something.

’How about after the Primordials? Are there any beings above them?’

The system immediately brought up another tab.

[Yes, there are power classifications above the Primordials. The classification above the Primordials is the Celestials. They do not exist in this plane of the Primordial Expanse because their power is so great that it would destroy entire worlds by their presence alone. The Celestials live in the Celestial plane -]

’Wait, they would destroy entire worlds with their presence alone? How?’

[Yes, the Celestials possess powers that interfere or shred through the fabrics of the mortal realm by their presence alone. In order to explain this properly, the system will use a Fallen Celestial that exists in the mortal plane as an example. This celestial is known as the Erythion, and it possesses an insatiable hunger that forces it to constantly consume mortal worlds in order for it to survive. Erythion has been known to consume an estimated five hundred thousand worlds in one feeding frenzy before it was filled. But luckily, Erythion is known to slumber for eons after it fills its stomach, so the Primordial Expanse is not under threat of being erased at the moment.]

It was like a bucket of water had suddenly been poured on Jason’s head. Jason glanced at the mana and stats in his system again and almost smacked himself in annoyance when he remembered thinking that he was powerful! Did he really think that he had any sort of power before? There were literally creatures out there that could eat worlds! That means it could open its mouth, and five hundred thousand worlds that were as large and powerful as Radagan would just be erased from existence!

’What the actual fuck?’
