Chapter 335: The Dragons and The Tumani

Chapter 335: The Dragons and The Tumani

Once Jason was done with the towns, he finally exchanged places with Jaraht’s dragon and appeared in the main city. The moment Jason set foot in the city, he could feel the oppressive mana from the [Soul Drain] rune pressing down on everything and sucking the life out of the people there, but since Jason wasn’t present when the rune was crafted, he wasn’t affected by it. Jason put his hand out towards the dragons and dragonborn that Azrael and Jaraht had killed, and he called out authoritatively.

"Resurrect."

Jason’s mana spread across the entire battlefield, and the dead soldiers and dragons began to pull themselves out of their bodies to join the Legion!

Jason smiled as he felt his strength and power increasing drastically once he was done resurrecting the Generals and the other soldiers. Jason had already been coming up with various ways to face the Sovereign if their power levels were too different, but at the rate Jason was growing, he didn’t even think he would need any of those plans! Jason was certain that a few more resurrections were all he needed before he could reach the SSS Rank as well! And once Jason was in that Rank, then he would be on the same level as the Sovereign!

’I just hope the Sovereign isn’t a high-level SSS Rank. If he’s a high-level and I’m a low-level, then it’ll be no different from an SS Rank trying to face off against an SSS Rank.’

Jason frowned as this thought crossed his mind, but he decided not to let that bother him. He already had various plans prepared, so even if he was caught unawares by something, he would make the necessary adjustments so he came out on top. Jason looked around, and he saw that the number of soldiers on his side was far outnumbered by the number of soldiers that were in the Radagan army, and Jason knew that this would be the case in all the other towns as well. According to what Jason learned from the soldiers, there were about one hundred and fifty thousand soldiers in the Radagan Army, but Jason had just about a thousand Legion members, so there was no way Jason could hope to beat them in quantity. The only thing Jason could hope for was that he had enough quality in his Legion to take on the large numbers. Jason looked at the system again, and he saw that there were various notifications telling him about the Legion members who had been killed. Jason had lost more than a hundred subordinates in the fight, and he would need to resurrect them to ensure they had a fighting chance.

[Would the user like to consume [52,000 MP] to resurrect 101 Subordinates? Yes/No]

Jason’s eyes narrowed when he saw the amount of mana he would have to consume, but he decided that it was worth it. Jason chose yes, and he watched as his mana points dropped to just below one hundred and fifty thousand. Jason heard words of thanks coming from the superhumans in the various towns when they saw that the Legion members who had died were rejoining the battle, and Jason told them to focus on their battles as he shut the comms once again. This was the best that Jason could do right now, and the superhumans were going to have to put in their best to try and make do with this!

’Hey, Azrael.’

Jason spoke up, and Azrael looked down curiously to see Jason giving him a thumbs up.

’No need to hold back anymore. You can go all out.’

Once Jason gave this order, he vanished from his spot and was replaced by a Rook Rank Falcon, and Azrael felt an intense surge of power filling his body as he finally dropped his restraints! The sky above the city began to darken as Azrael called on the full force of his abilities, and the soldiers that were coming towards Azrael were all shocked when they saw the purple lightning arcing across the clouds! A harsh wind blew through the city, and Azrael raised his staff in the air with a chilling look in his eyes! And in the next moment, lightning rained down on the world of Radagan!

BZZZZTTTT!!!!

[The Ashenvalley Habitat of the Dragons and Wyverns]

The Ashenvalley was a large expanse of land that had been claimed by the dragons and wyverns more than a millennium ago. No one knew where the dragons came from, and they didn’t know how long they had really been in this world for, but there was a folklore that was told to every dragonborn child the moment they were old enough to understand spoken words. According to this folklore, the Ashenvalley was more than just the resting place of the dragons; it was a mystical land that the dragon gods had blessed thousands of years ago. The first dragon god had arrived in this world as a single being, and from its fire, it created a large valley that cut across the entire western peninsula of Radagan. This dragonfire didn’t leave the land burnt or scorched; instead, it brought natural healing and growth to the land, and the land began to grow and prosper as a result of it. The dragon god took the mud and sand that it had created using its fire, and from that mud, it crafted the very first dragon. This dragon was known as Rumunaga, and it was the oldest and wisest of all the dragons.

Rumunaga was given the wisdom of the gods and blessed with the eternal flames, and with those flames, Rumunaga ruled over the dragons that existed in the Ashenvalley and brought about an age of prosperity for them. But it wasn’t long before the dragon god introduced a new creature to the Ashenvalley. This creature was different from the dragons. It stood on two legs, and it had no hair on its body. The dragons called this creature a Tumani, and they treated it as a companion since they had all come from the dragon gods. But the dragons noticed that the Tumani were weak creatures. They did not have any scales to protect them from attacks, and they did not have fire to hunt. They were creatures that would not survive in the wild! So rather than sending them out to hunt, the Tumani became the scholars and workers in the Ashenvalley. Because although they were lacking in strength and fire, they more than made up for it in intelligence.

Life was good and peaceful between the dragons and the Tumani for a long time, and it would have continued in this way for the rest of time. But the dragons and the Tumani fell out of favour with each other when a Tumani made the mistake of falling in love with the daughter of the dragon king, Rumunaga. The moment Rumunaga heard of this sacrilegious attraction, he grew angry and immediately ordered the execution of the Tumani! But what Rumanga did not expect was that his daughter had also fallen in love with the Tumani, and once she heard about what her father was going to do, she rushed to warn her beloved of the impending death, and together they both vanished.
