Chapter 1211: An Outer God

Chapter 1211: An Outer God

As the mist became thicker around them, that was when Haku finally decided to crush the stone that was in her hand.

The moment that the stone was crushed, there was a powerful wave of mana that pushed back the mist that had been approaching.

This wave of mana was stronger than anything that this group had felt before.

But at the same time, there was a familiar feeling that came from it.

It was as if there was something about this wave of mana that they recognized.

It didn’t take long for Lin Fan to figure out what it was, but he was the last one to figure it out.

That was because everyone else here was far more familiar with this sensation.

Especially the dungeon cores.

There was no need to mention Haku since she was the one that had used the stone to summon this wave of mana. However, Rokuko looked in the direction of this wave of mana with a look of recognition.

Finally, she said, "Father..."

If she was talking about her father, then there was only one person that it could possibly be.

However, Lin Fan couldn’t help being surprised by this since he knew who the father of all these dungeon cores were. He just never thought that Haku would go as far as summoning that person...or rather that god.

But then again, only a god would be able to deal with another god...

It made sense that this was the trump card that Haku took out.

After this wave of mana pushed back the mist a certain distance, that was when it suddenly collapsed in on itself.

The wave of mana was no longer pushing back the mist, but it wasn’t as if the mist could close in again that quickly. The wave of mana shrunk much faster than the mist could move and it gathered in one place.

Once that mana gathered, there was a figure that was formed.

This figure didn’t seem to have much of a presence, but the mist seemed to act differently once this figure appeared.

Instead of targeting Haku and the others, it seemed that this mist was aiming at this figure. It seemed that this mist wanted to take care of that figure before it could fully form.

Only the mist wasn’t able to close in around that figure fast enough and it was able to form in the end.

With a wave of that figure’s hand, there was another wave of mana that was released.

But this time, the wave of mana was several times stronger than before.

This wave of mana didn’t stop at creating a small area where the mist was pushed back.

The wave of mana completely wiped out all of the mist that was in the surrounding area, or at least as far as the eye could see, all of the mist had been pushed away by this wave of mana.

Even the altar that the mist was coming from had been suppressed by the wave of mana.

So all of the mist that should have seeped out of the altar was pushed back into the altar and wasn’t allowed to move away from it. It was almost as if the altar was like a balloon that had air forced into it with the way that the mist swelled around it.

It wasn’t as if the mist was about to be blown up by the mist, but it certainly wouldn’t be comfortable for the owner of this altar with how the mist was compressed like this.

With a snort, the figure said, " A coward that ran away wants to return? Do you really think that there was no one here that would stop you?"

The voice of the altar didn’t say anything, but it was clear by the way that the mist around the altar shook that it didn’t like what was happening.

The one that Haku had summoned was Weiss, or at least it was one of Weiss’ avatars.

It would be unimaginable that Haku would be able to summon the real form of Weiss, the God of Magic.

But just summoning his avatar wasn’t that easy to do either.

It was obvious that the stone that she crushed was some kind of special item that had this ability. And as for who could create something like this, it was most likely only Weiss himself who could do this.

This stone was most likely a reward that Weiss had given Haku at one point.

She was one of the senior dungeon cores that had been alive for a long time, so it was only normal that she would have something like this.

The key was that she used it to deal with the owner of this altar.

The other thing that Lin Fan was confused about was what Weiss had said when he first appeared to suppress the owner of the altar. He had called the owner of the altar a coward, what did he mean by this?

When the voice from the altar didn’t respond, Weiss just said, "You were the one that abandoned this world when you realized that there was no way for you to progress. You were the one that chose to become an Outer God and leave this place instead of remaining as a low tier god. Do you really think that you’re allowed to come back?"

Lin Fan was even more shocked when he heard this.

It wasn’t as if he had much knowledge about the gods, so hearing this piece that Weiss offered was a shock to him.

It seemed that it wasn’t easy being a god based on what Weiss said.

At the same time, it seemed that there was some kind of limit on the people that could become gods in this world...

Or at least that was the case when it came to the magic continent.

For the cultivation continent, it was different since there was the concept of immortals.

After all, once one broke through the Transcendence Realm and became an immortal, it was normal for them to ascend to the upper realm and disappear from this world. It was different from the gods of the magic continent that stayed and watched over the magic continent.

But now it seemed that there were gods that chose to leave and the former Mist Lord was one of them...

Now the real question was where these gods that left which Weiss referred to as Outer Gods went...

"Do you know how restraining it was to remain as a god in a place like this? With you old gods creating that hierarchy, was there even a place for us? If we didn’t leave, we never would have been able to grow stronger. You were the ones that restrained us and kept us as slaves." The voice of the altar suddenly said this.

Lin Fan couldn’t help slightly knitting his brows when he heard this, but he didn’t worry too much about this.

After all, it wasn’t as if he was going to become a god through the methods of the magic continent. What Lin Fan was planning to do was reach immortality through his cultivation technique after all.

Becoming an immortal and then leaving for the upper realm, that seemed like the best way to become a god and grow stronger.

Though there was a part of Lin Fan that was curious about what the situation with the gods of the magic continent was.

Only he didn’t get to satisfy this curiosity as it seemed like Weiss was done with the Mist Lord hiding in the altar.

Raising his hand, there was a powerful wave of mana that appeared once more.

But this time, this wasn’t a wave of mana that was spread out across an area to push away the mist. This time, the wave of mana was concentrated around the altar of the Mist Lord.

Instead of using a spell, it seemed like Weiss was planning on crushing the altar with the power of his mana alone.

This was only possible since he was the God of Mana, but it was clear that this was using up the power that was inside of this avatar. As he used this mana to crush the altar, the figure of this avatar seemed to fade a bit.

It was clear that there was only so much power that this avatar wielded and it was only a matter of time before it would disappear.

That was just how it was with an avatar that was summoned by an item.

However, it seemed that he was still able to crush the altar with the limited amount of power that this avatar of his possessed.

In the end, he was still the God of Magic.

As the altar was being crushed, the voice rang out again.

But instead of begging for mercy as one might expect, it just laughed as it said, "You gods hiding away in this world. Do you really think that you’re invincible? One day, all of you will be dragged down from your thrones by us."

The figure of Weiss seemed annoyed to hear this, so he closed his hand.

When he did, the mana that was around the altar became even stronger and the altar itself was completely crushed.

The only thing that was left after the altar was crushed was some kind of thing that had been in the center of the altar.

Looking closely, it seemed to be a fragment of an armadillo’s shell.

It was just that the aura that came from this fragment was anything but normal.
