Mu Anxiao stared intently at Feng Qishi as he approached her. Her hands gripped the hilt of her sword, every fiber of her being ready. Just as she was about to speak, Feng Qishi suddenly reached out and pushed her back.
Mu Anxiao started, "What are you doing?" She was confused by Feng Qishi's sudden action.
Feng Qishi replied, "Didn't you ask me how to get out? I'm helping you." As he spoke, he pushed Mu Anxiao forward.
Mu Anxiao was startled. She glanced at the illusory light that was dangerously close, then quickly looked back at Feng Qishi, who was trying to push her out of it. "Are you trying to kill me? Let go."
"How else will you get out?" Feng Qishi gently pushed Mu Anxiao's back, speaking calmly.
Mu Anxiao argued, "Why are you pushing me out? If you just opened a gap, I could get out. Don't push me. If I can't withstand the power of that light and get blasted out, it'll be terrible."
"You're afraid of that?" Feng Qishi retorted.
Mu Anxiao stated, "You're talking nonsense. I'm planning a sneak attack. If you push me out like this, and I can't stop myself, I'll charge straight at them, and I'll be finished."
"In that case," Feng Qishi said, casually grabbing Mu Anxiao's arm, "you shouldn't go."
"What right do you have to control me?" Mu Anxiao was indignant.
Feng Qishi explained, "I'm not controlling you; I'm just concerned for your safety. Think about it, those three are out of control. If you charge out now, you'll definitely be surrounded. So, for your own good," Feng Qishi pulled Mu Anxiao closer to himself, "don't go."
The next second, Mu Anxiao lost her balance and crashed into Feng Qishi. She was startled and looked down at the sword that had caused her to lose her footing. Then, she looked up at Feng Qishi and said, "Let go." Her face was filled with embarrassment.
Feng Qishi didn't seem to care. He looked down at Mu Anxiao's embarrassed expression and said faintly, "You can't even lift a sword, and you want to save that woman? You're dreaming."
"Dreaming?" Mu Anxiao repeated, then scoffed, "Shen Moyun, I know you look down on me, but can you not be so obvious? I can lift it." With that, she tightened her grip on the sword hilt and straightened up.
In reality, she could no longer bear the weight of the sword.
Feng Qishi looked down at Mu Anxiao's strained posture, then glanced at the woman in the green dress being attacked outside. He said, "It seems no matter what I say, you won't give up."
"Yes, I won't give up," Mu Anxiao's attitude was firm, sweat already beading on her forehead.
Feng Qishi knew Mu Anxiao wouldn't listen to him. He stopped talking, released his hand, and bent down, placing his hand over Mu Anxiao's.
Mu Anxiao was startled. "What are you doing?" She glanced at the sword, then looked up at Feng Qishi.
Feng Qishi remained silent, his eyes fixed on the sword.
Seeing Feng Qishi ignore her, Mu Anxiao retorted angrily, "Shen Moyun, you're a general after all. I'm talking to you, you could at least reply with half a sentence. You're doing this..."
"Try it," Feng Qishi said, standing up straight.
Mu Anxiao swallowed her complaints towards Feng Qishi, frowned, and tried to lift the sword. To her astonishment, she exclaimed, "What's going on?" She looked up at Feng Qishi.
Feng Qishi explained, "I've adjusted the spiritual energy in the sword to be suitable for you. You don't need to thank me."
Adjusted?
Mu Anxiao had only heard that magical artifacts improved with the owner's abilities. She had never heard of anyone being able to reduce the spiritual energy of an artifact.
Hearing Feng Qishi's casual words, she suddenly felt something was amiss. But she didn't know how to approach the matter, so she could only stare at Feng Qishi, speechless.
Feng Qishi looked at Mu Anxiao's puzzled expression and then at the sword in her hand. He said faintly, "Wasting time like this won't do you any good."
"It's fine, tell me, what's going on?" Mu Anxiao held the sword out in front of Feng Qishi.
Seeing this, Feng Qishi took a step back. "This sword of mine is very sharp. Put it down."
"You..."
"This kind of magic can only be done by a great god," Jia interrupted Mu Anxiao, glancing at Feng Qishi. He continued, "This artifact can only be shared with one person. He's giving you this chance, you should be happy."
This was the first time Mu Anxiao had heard of such a thing. After Jia finished speaking, she looked at Feng Qishi. "Will I be able to use your sword in the future?"
Before, she had been worried about what to do without magical artifacts once she entered the palace. Hearing Jia's words, she suddenly felt excited, and beyond excitement, there was anticipation.
Feng Qishi looked at Mu Anxiao's expectant expression, deliberately paused for a few seconds, and said, "If you don't go out now, that woman will really be done for." He then extended his hand, opening a gap in the illusory light, and the wind blew in.
At that very moment, Mu Anxiao abandoned her questions, gripped the sword with one hand, and turned to walk out.
Immediately after Mu Anxiao left, the opening closed again.
Feng Qishi lowered his hand and looked at Jia, who was staring at him. "What are you looking at me for?"
"She is the other half you chose," Jia stated.
"What do you know," Feng Qishi said, then averted his gaze.
Jia frowned. "I've heard that only the companions of great gods have the privilege of using their artifacts. Now that you've given the artifact to Mu Anxiao to use, it shows that you..."
"If you say another word, I'll report you to the underworld and ensure you're forever a subordinate of Hei Feng," Feng Qishi said coldly, too annoyed to listen to Jia's nonsense. "What do you think?"
Upon hearing this, Jia pursed his lips.
Feng Qishi continued, "Some things are better left unsaid. Don't let Mu Anxiao know about this, understand?"
Jia didn't respond.
Feng Qishi frowned slightly. "If you understand, nod."
Jia immediately nodded.
Feng Qishi was very pleased with Jia's response. A smile touched his lips as he looked up at Mu Anxiao, who was stealthily approaching them.
Lou Yi stood in place, watching Feng Qishi's retreating back, and began to make his own plans.
Outside.
Mu Anxiao, holding the sword, advanced towards them.
Just then, the woman in the green dress, exhausted, knelt before the two attackers.
At the same time, the woman in the pink dress dangled a silver needle before her eyes and sneered, "Sister, this is the consequence of you deceiving us." With that, she shot a killing glare at the woman in the green dress.
The woman in the green dress stiffened. Gripping her sword with one hand and propping herself up with the other, she looked weakly at the silver needle in the pink-dressed woman's hand and said, "You deceived me too, and you have the nerve to talk about me." As she spoke, she laboriously stood up, her eyes flashing with a brilliant red light.
The woman in the pink dress retorted, "How did we deceive you? You..."
"When did you cultivate the spiritual energy in your bodies?" the woman in the green dress challenged, raising her sword.
"We..." The woman in the pink dress stopped mid-sentence, glanced at her silver needle, and froze.
The woman in the red dress also froze the moment the woman in the pink dress uttered those words.
