Chapter 1860 The Exaggerated Acting

Ouyang Ye: "You did come here."

Mu Anxiao had never expected Ouyang Ye to have a trick up his sleeve. Looking at him, and thinking of Feng Qishi who would likely be rushing over behind her soon, she felt anxious. "What does my coming here have to do with you?"

"You want to tip them off."

"I... no." Mu Anxiao's gaze was firm, fearing Ouyang Ye might sense something.

Unexpectedly, Ouyang Ye saw through her little scheme. "Your 'no' means 'yes'," he said, leaning forward slightly. "It seems you haven't told Feng Qishi yet."

"You..."

"Since you haven't told him, then I'm relieved," Ouyang Ye said, suddenly kneeling.

Seeing this, Mu Anxiao was startled. "What are you doing?"

Ouyang Ye started to cry.

Mu Anxiao stiffened, glanced behind her, then quickly turned back. She bent down and grabbed Ouyang Ye's arm. "Quick, get up."

Ouyang Ye: "Please don't kill my daughter, please, I beg you." He cried hysterically.

Mu Anxiao looked embarrassed. "Are you crazy?"

"Please, I beg you."

At this moment, Mu Anxiao was convinced by Ouyang Ye's acting. She stood up, no longer bothering to speak with him, and simply watched him, curious about what other tricks he might pull.

Because of this, Ouyang Ye lost interest. He peeked behind Mu Anxiao and said, "Damn, why isn't he here yet?" He then wiped the tears from his face.

Mu Anxiao took a step back. "I will take good care of your daughter. You go on and do your business," she said, glancing sideways.

"You're acting too," Ouyang Ye saw through Mu Anxiao's intentions.

Mu Anxiao raised an eyebrow. "Let's continue. Let's see who Feng Qishi hears first."

"You..." With a single syllable, Ouyang Ye didn't want to waste any more time and continued his wailing.

Mu Anxiao also continued to say unrelated things.

Finally, after less than a minute of effort, Feng Qishi arrived.

Unfortunately, Feng Qishi only heard Ouyang Ye's crying and not Mu Anxiao's voice.

"What's wrong?" Feng Qishi came to Mu Anxiao's side, feigning concern.

Mu Anxiao sighed, turned to look at Feng Qishi, and retracted her unfinished words.

Ouyang Ye thought he had found an opportunity and pointed at Mu Anxiao. "She wants to kill my daughter."

Mu Anxiao showed disdain, turned her face away, and pinched her nose.

"You mean, she wants to kill Bing'er?" Feng Qishi remained calm.

"Yes, she had a dagger at her throat, boohoo, General, save my daughter." Ouyang Ye cried miserably.

Mu Anxiao raised an eyebrow, looking at Ouyang Ye's face, and let out a soft hum, not making any comment.

Feng Qishi heard this and looked at Mu Anxiao. "Why would you do that?"

"You also think I want to kill Bing'er?" Mu Anxiao pointed at herself, showing no surprise, but rather a calm demeanor.

"Why are you so calm?" Feng Qishi retorted.

Mu Anxiao curled her lips. "I didn't do those things, so why should I be nervous? As the saying goes, if you have a clear conscience, you need not fear an imposter knocking at your door." She glanced at Ouyang Ye. "Some people cannot be trusted."

She wanted to use this sentence to remind Feng Qishi that the other party was a liar.

Feng Qishi understood Mu Anxiao's meaning and cooperated by turning to Ouyang Ye. "Say whatever you need to say properly. Stand up."

"Yes." Ouyang Ye agreed and stood up.

Mu Anxiao turned her face away.

Seeing that Ouyang Ye had stood up, Feng Qishi deliberately said, "Speak whatever you have to say. It's best to explain everything from beginning to end so that I can..." He glanced at Mu Anxiao, "...properly condemn him."

"Okay." Ouyang Ye was secretly pleased; this way, he could spout nonsense.

Mu Anxiao let out a soft sigh, deciding to see what 'pleasant' words he could come up with.

"Begin," Feng Qishi said calmly.

Ouyang Ye was surprised. "We're saying it here?" He looked around.

Feng Qishi: "Then where do you want to say it? Do we need to go back to the room, pour some tea, and speak slowly?" He deliberately teased Ouyang Ye.

Ouyang Ye shook his head. "I dare not."

"Then speak."

"Alright," Ouyang Ye nodded awkwardly and began, "After you left, I was talking to my daughter in the room. Who knew, she..." At this point, he started crying again.

Mu Anxiao had seen the driver's cowardice and timidity. Yet, even so, she had never seen the driver cry like this. Therefore, looking at Ouyang Ye, who was acting as the driver, she only felt it was 'exaggerated.'

"What is it?" Feng Qishi asked helplessly.

Ouyang Ye sobbed twice and continued, "He brought a man directly into my room, then took out a dagger and said he wanted to test my daughter's blood. I disagreed, and he and that man beat me. In the end," he said, "I was too weak to resist, and they took my child away." After speaking, he wailed.

Mu Anxiao: "..." She pursed her lips.

Feng Qishi turned his gaze to Mu Anxiao's face. "..."

Mu Anxiao shrugged.

Feng Qishi: "What do you mean by that?"

"Do you think he's telling the truth?" Mu Anxiao asked back.

Feng Qishi frowned. "Then what about Bing'er?" He thought that if Ouyang Ye could falsely accuse Mu Anxiao, he must have evidence, so he wanted to clarify.

Mu Anxiao gave a dry laugh.

"What are you laughing at?" Feng Qishi asked.

Mu Anxiao's eyes flickered. "Bing'er is indeed in my room, but," she glanced at Ouyang Ye, "what he's saying is false."

Ouyang Ye cried, "I'm not lying, not lying!"

Mu Anxiao was speechless.

Feng Qishi: "If that's the case, then let's go to your room..."

"We can't go," Mu Anxiao interrupted, not wanting Ouyang Ye to see Bing'er because she knew Ouyang Ye's intentions were not pure.

"I can't even see my own daughter? You're going too far," Ouyang Ye cried.

Mu Anxiao was embarrassed. "You don't know how to take care of her. She's very weak now. You..." Her words failed her. After thinking for a moment, she said, "You're so dirty and full of germs. It's bad for her health."

"I am her father."

"You're her mother, I'd still stop you," Mu Anxiao said agitatedly.

Feng Qishi looked at both Mu Anxiao and Ouyang Ye, cleared his throat, "Mu Xiao, why exactly did you do that?" His gaze shifted to Mu Anxiao's face.

Mu Anxiao knew she couldn't expose Ouyang Ye at this moment. If she did, it would immediately put Feng Qishi in danger. So, she stared at Feng Qishi for a few seconds before saying, "I have my reasons."

"You have your reasons, but Bing'er is his daughter. If you keep stopping him like this, it's not very good," Feng Qishi said earnestly.

Mu Anxiao took a deep breath. "I'm saying this for a reason. As for what reason, you don't need to ask. I..." she stammered, "I can't explain it clearly." Her eyes flickered.
